The Boroughs is also, intentionally or unintentionally, a commentary on the way elderly people are treated and respected. The fact that many older people in care homes are abused, constantly gaslit, or treated as little more than commodities to make money from is not fiction, itās a very real social issue tied to the private elderly care industry in general. And so is the paternalism and condescension with which theyāre treated, as if they were children instead of fully functional adults.
The Boroughs really emphasizes this point: theyāre treated like oversized children when in reality theyāre simply retired professionals who are still fully capable, and itās precisely those skills and experiences that allow them to move the story forward. Judy is an experienced reporter, a Black woman who fought her way into a professional career in the 1970s and obviously isnāt going to sit quietly in the face of a mystery or an injustice. Sam is an aerospace engineer. Wally is a doctor with decades of experience. Renee spent her whole life as a manager and knows exactly how to deal with assholes.
These are skilled, intelligent professionals in their respective fields, and they donāt stop being those things just because they get older. If anything, theyāve spent an entire lifetime specialising and building that expertise. I think the series reflects this beautifully, and honestly I find it really important because, yes, your grandparents were people who raised entire families before you put them in a nursing home, and thatās something people should remember. Theyāre not idiots. Theyāre just old.
Iām not trying to be dramatic but if my friend doesnāt like this for her baby I think I might cry myself to death
I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesnāt work. itās never worked. itās notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it peopleās works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.
the only thing AI checker does is harm genuine artists and people in general too.
people who are just finding out about internet tracking and data mining in the year 2025 and that your special robot friend does not respect your privacy lol
"I asked it but it said no so the mystery is still unsolved" how have you survived to adulthood?

Oh we're all feeling this one aren't we?
ceiling fans rock, every house needs ceiling fans. sleeping in a room without a ceiling fan feels so stale and wrong.
actually i do find it hilarious that Derek was all āiām a real actual werewolf with experience of being a werewolf and i can give you advice about how to be a werewolf because i am a werewolfā and Scott was like āsorry my completely human 16 year old best friend just took a double-dose of Adderall and went on an 8 hour wikipedia spree so i think heās got me covered on the werewolf advice stuff :)ā
teen wolf is fr show of all time. their commitment to using edm makes it work. introduce the most dog coded character and go this is a werewolf. scott genuinely thinking lycanthropy is a disease. the asshole jock character is that way because he's adopted and his best friend is a gay guy who btw everyone likes. scott being shocked allisons family are werewolf hunters versus jackson immediately going āit makes sense. argent in french is silverā jackson hating scott so bad because hes suddenly good at lacrosse that he genuinely tries to murder him. scott not caring that there might be a serial killer on the loose bc he just wants his inhaler back bc those things are like 50 dollars. scott also not caring that hes a werewolf bc hes got work and homework and lacrosse and a pretty girl to impress. and his genius sarcastic best friend has adhd. and all of this happened in the first season.
Teen Wolf is so fun because at one point the comedic relief character stops being comedic relief and starts having a kill count
guys iām so sorry to say this but exercising and indulging in hobbies rather than scrolling on your phone for 200 hours actually does improve your mood and overall mental health, this has deeply upset me more than anyone
I put my blood sweat and tears into this pot holder and now Iām depressed lmao
im barely exaggerating when i say i think of this every single day
iām really sorry about my behavior. you see, growing up, my family- *remembers blaming all my problems on other people is really annoying and unhealthy* i mean. i am responsible for all the evils of this world and i bear sins like the sky bears the stars
'you can smoke whatever drugs you want idgaf' and 'apartment building etiquette is such that i should not be able to instantly smell your rank-ass weed stank through our shared wall' are two sentiments that can both be true
never played stardew valley so before looking at the tags I was willing to accept this was a real life political scandal
