Emotions often took control of Parker more than she would like to admit, she found it difficult to manage to hide how she felt no matter how hard she tried. She was an open book, and she always would be. Nodding and throwing the other girl a thankful smile, she typed out a hasty text to Yongsun asking him to come pick her up. Parker knew her roommate would be finished with classes by now, and she didn’t ever ask him to come get her so she hoped he would grasp the severity of the situation and not be a dick about the whole thing. “I just don’t understand” the dark haired girl sighed, staring at the sent receipt on her message and willing her friend to reply. Looking up as the server arrived, she attempted her best smile but assumed it probably just looked a little wet and pathetic. Looking back at her new acquaintance, their eyes met and she listened to the others request. “Ah” she began, worrying her bottom lip with her teeth and frowning in apology “Yongie drives a motorbike… so, I don’t think we’d both fit. But I’ll wait with you until you can get a ride. I don’t think anyone should have to be alone right now.” Looking down at her phone, Yongsun still hadn’t read the message and she frowned at the screen momentarily before looking back up at the girl. “I’m Parker, by the way.”
graysan offered the woman a half smile, not able to produce a full smile considering the circumstances. she wished she would’ve just kept her promise, just went straight home after school so that she didn’t have to witness such horrifying acts outside. patsy’s was supposed to be her place, but it was beginning to feel less and less like the place she had cherished from such a young age. she wouldn’t forget this, the face of the mutant was imprinted in her memory.
“i don’t understand either, it’s sick.” she murmured softly, taking a few bites of her french fries right after her server set her plate down in front of her. thankfully, the food relaxed her a little bit, taking her back to simpler times when she begged her parents to go there to eat for lunch on the weekends.
when she mentioned that her roommate wouldn’t be able to give her a ride, she tried her best to display a reassuring smile, “no, no it’s okay. i appreciate you considering it. and thanks for keeping me some company. i’m probably gonna eat as quick as i can and order an uber or something.” she mentioned, popping a few more french fries in her mouth. “nice to meet you, i’m graysan.”
