RUN. that was the only word he could think of right now. he felt like he was in a cloud, the whole world looked foggy and for once it was more than him refusing to wear his glasses. darting around corners without a destination he found himself in corners and shadows. the castle looked unrecognisable like this. am i dreaming? no.. no. you just ate too many berries gideon. oh merlin. his feet moved without instruction and as quickly as he’d decided to try the plant, he was face to face with someone.. a girl. he was breathless, shaky and drenched in sweat. his eyes panned the area in paranoia, and he crouched down beside her, hiding himself from prying eyes. “i think i did something stupid.” is all he can muster at first, not even able to recall his own name. “you.. you don’t have water or something?” fire.. he felt like he was on fire. but it was fine. he knew it had to be fine. getting caught with what he had would lead to a lot more than just expulsion. “wait.. bones? why are you here?”
Amelia had absolutely no idea what to do in this situation. She would consider Prewett someone she was close to, at all. She could barely call him an aquaintance, yet here they were, alone in a hallway, and he seemed to be high at best, and running away from, something, at worst. Quite frankly, she couldn’t believe that she was hoping for the former. “Um, not on me, no, but I’m sure there are some old bathrooms down the hall that might still have running taps?” She’d never been brave enough to try them herself, but if he was really that desperate...
“I’m here because the library was too loud. Why are you here, Prewett?” Part of her wanted to bring up his clearly debauched state, but that might have been pushing a bit too hard. At least at the beginning of the conversation. She wasn’t exactly going to get any useful information out of him by scaring him off, now was she?
