Not that his armor was very good at standing up to bullets either, but it was better than nothing. It certainly helped cushion a punch, at least.

"That sounds quite assuring." The lancer expressed the slightest hint of a smile, taking a sip from her cup of coffee. Despite the whole area, where they were right now, was essentially a barren wasteland, this old base still served as a safe location to shelter for the time being. "Perhaps I'm not quite as experienced in these kinds of battlefield, however I can handle myself in my own right."

That wasn't only the ability how to use her spear in battle and her aerial style of combat, but also her usage of ice magic.

“Now I wonder why you were looking at me like that.” Leaning closer, the wolf gave Mare a smile as her tail started to wag behind her. “”Hmmmm.”

Now face to face, it caused Mare to flinch a little bit, and it didn't seem the other was letting up either. A little blush was hinted around her cheeks before she attempted to compose herself.

"Your ears and tail. They look so fluffy." The water witch admitted.

She was shaking so badly. A crowded place had quickly become wildly overstimulating, thoughts from every man, woman, and child pounding into Darva's brain. She had never told Mare about her mind reading, the reason she tried not to go anywhere crowded. But she wanted to hang out with a friend... Normally. Like a normal fucking woman. 

And she failed at even that...

Darva closed her eyes, holding back tears. "I'm sorry- I'm sorry, Mare, I should have told you. I should have told you."

She had no idea what was going on when Darva suddenly fell on her knees, clutching her head in struggling pain. One thing was certain though, all eyes in the area staring at her, she needed to leave here right away. Not caring what was happening around them, the water witch held her hand and took themselves to somewhere else, a place more quiet and less people.

Once being a place devoid of passerby, Mare proceeded to pull her friend into a gentle embrace. She felt bad for her, hearing her whispers of apology and regret.

"It's okay, Darla, we're alone now." Still she didn't know what was going on, but at the very least, this was better with the two alone now.

If she did intend to size him up now, Murelle would likely notice that he doesn’t seem to actually have a vision on his person! He’s either full of it, or perhaps there was something fishy about this guy…

At least the young man was satisfied with the books she could find, it was been awhile for her to see someone buying this amount of it at once. Seeing he then offered an extra payment for these books, Murelle gestured a little bow of gratitude by his generosity.

"Fighting Mitachurls for the guild?" The mage then took a good look on Layle. A few things came in mind; one, he didn't wear an uniform like most members of the Adventurers' Guild would do, and also it didn't seem he possessed a Vision or perhaps it was hidden? She wasn't entirely sure about that.
