Alastor and Rosie thougths
Slight Spoilers season 2 Episode 4 (if you have seen past that or dont mind then your good to go)
I hear a lot of Hazbin Hotel Fans talking about Rosie and whether or not she is or can be considered white touching on what it means within her and Alastor relationship but i feel like a lot of these conversations are missing some of the more intresting things that can be exsplored around this. Regardless on if Rosie was or wasn't ever human, from Alastors perspective she would still fit into the same socital place, if she's some kind of hell born then she was still seemingly born into a position that allows her to have power and privlage over others from hells social system. I actualy think this can add a layor of sypathy to Alastor as no mater how well they seem to get along, how much better she treats him compared to how the Vee's treat the souls they own , how even Alastor has treated Husk or even the fact that Rosie from the start of the deal has always claimed that soon as Alastor furfills his end of the deal his free to do as he wants while keeping the power she has given him. Despite all this no matter how resnable that request ended up being i can still understand and empathise with why someone like Alastor who has lived and endured the things he would have had to would not want to play fair with her, why he would not want to keep his end of the deal and instead cheat his way out. I feel like if we want to explore such complex and important conversations around these characters (especialy elements outside of and beyond the limits of the shows current cannon, the old comics, live streams and/ or any other forms they have taken over the last almost two decades) as there realtionships with race, gender, sexuality or issues and topics such as soul ownership and deals with in the Hazbin Hotel world then theres a much deeper and nuanced conversation we can have with ourselves as a audiences around not only Rosie and Alastors relationship but also with the implications it could have with Alastor and other characters relationships particularly Husk and Nifty. Alastor hates being controled by Rosie but has no problem owning peoples souls. He can be far more crule and threatening to Husk then we ever see Rosie being to him but that dosnt make Rosies control over him right just becouse she dosn't threaten him the same way we've seen Alastor threaten Husk dosn't mean shes inherently better then Alastor in what she dose likewise just becouse we see Alastor showing signs of actualy caring about Nifty and her him, it wouldn't make him owning her soul any more right.
no one in Hazbin Hotel at least not any of the characters in hell are truly purfect and good people each one is complex with the ability at any moment in the story to make a good or bad choice for themselves.
To be honest some of these thoughts might come from the fact that one of my favourite villain arcactypes is the character that's not wrong about being angry or lashing out at a corrupt or wrong system but instead is wrong becouse they do so wishing only to benifit from this system instead of dismanteling it. To quote Audre Lorde
"For the master's tools will never dismantel the master's house. They may allow us temporarily to beat him at his own game, but they will never enable us to bring about enuine change" -Audre Lorde
this is a idea i can see being exsplored with Alastor very easily as he is a character that we've seen both suffering from and yet still useing the same harmfull methods to rise above others and how his actions and methods can both aid and yet push against other characters efforts towards creating larger changes with in the world.
Do i think Alastor or his relationships with other characters was writen to exsplore some or any of these concepts? No, but i think if we as a audiences want to discuss topics such as Alastor and those around him's relationship with Race then we shouldnt just limit it to a surface level "who is white and who is black" kind of argument but instead challange ourselves to reflect on these topics with the nuance, respect and self challangeing conversations they deserve.
if you got to this bit and read all that, thank you for taking the time to indulge my strange little rambelings on this and i hope you have a good one.
I spent two hours writing up a very good brake down on how the ways Bruce Wayne projected first Dick Grayson then Himself onto Jason Todd has forever altered the way Jason Todd’s Robin is remembered but things crashed and didn’t save while I was posting so now we get this
This is how Bruce talks about Jason (important note that school was “special” because it was in no way a qualified or registered school but instead a violent gang that made its child recruited beat possibly killed each other as well stuff like encouraged drinking to keep them in line. )
And this
Is actual sweetheart Jason Todd as Robin.
This is him saving two faces life AFTER being told the man killed Jason’s father and is the reason he was alone.
And here is Jason even before he was Robin trying to do right by people even knowing no one believed he would.
Bruce often is depicted as claiming Jason was somehow to angry and broken for him to help but yet
we see Bruce the man who was supposed to guide and help him also would give into anger but his was at times far less focused then Jason’s, (example above If not for Gordon Batman would have killed a man he blamed for his friends and several other woman’s murders against any of the actual evidences.) who would later complain Jason was always going off on his own missions when Jason was happy to skip patrol to do homework and from less then a year into being Robin was already being sent by Batman out on his own to hunt down dangers such as scarecrow. He also was the one to often praise Jason’s use of violence and put him in situations where Jason had to rely on it (example getting Jason to help him brake into Arkham, making him fight against guards and was pushed into and praised for using guns
There are several times it’s open called out and said that Bruce took in Jason to be a replacement to Dick. A Replacement who Batman took in instead of supporting and working through the problems he and his first son had together. With much of his concerns for Jason being less about his well being and more about Bruce. Jason however was always doing everything he could to try and be Robin constantly terrified of losing the role and probably the safety and security of a home with it. (Panels below include some times Alfred called Bruce out for constantly talking about and comparing Dick and Jason, and when Bruce’s supposed concern for Jason putting himself in danger was actually Bruce being scared he’d grow up and not need him like his first son .we also have Bruce confessing to Dick why he took Jason in.)
(Other panels include Jason’s reacting to finding out Nightwing was the first Robin and was coming to talk with Bruce by being worried about Nightwing wanting to be Robin again. Jason not hesitating to Volunteer himself as a hostage and being praised for putting himself in danger I think the first time he went out as Robin because “the other Robin would have done the same thing” and after feeling lied to and betrayed still very early in his time with Bruce getting violent with the man he thinks killed his father and then braking down crying with Bruce Jason’s biggest concern is still failing to live up to Bruce’s ideals of Robin)
Jason could yes be angry and lose control under extreme and traumatic situations but he was actually far less likely to then at time even Bruce a grown man and THE BATMAN. He just from the start knew when people needed help he couldn’t just trust others to do it so he had to do it himself a trait Bruce not only praised but was the reason he was chosen to be Robin.
Jason never was some angry weapon he was a kid a little boy who once solved a mystery just thanks to a passing interest in fashion history and called Dick Mr.Nightwing the first time they got to work together. Who dropped out of school in like year 5 to try and keep his “sick” mother alive and was working so hard and so happily to try and catch up on his education once Bruce took him in and allowed him to go back.
But Bruce projected first Dick then Himself onto Jason so much that Jason Todd ended up becoming what Bruce said he was, a frustrated reckless kid heading to a early grave
watching as what once was a very profeshinal vtubers feed slowly devolve onto feral Jason Todd and Batman thirst like
I feel like I haven't seen enough fan stuff on Bruce being a grandpa to Olivia Desmond. Or enough of the Bats reacting to Dicks adopted daughter.

When they say Dick Grayson family move was the Quadruple flip they mean this trick:
(Video from Cirque du Soleil's instagram)
for context, there are only 3-5 people alive right now who can do this

just saw a post saying "batman doesnt kill because he knows he'd love it" like please tell me ur joking
literally this.
The closest to any idea like this I've seen done and done well wasn't that "Batman can't kill becouse he would like it " but instead was more "Batman can't kill becouse he would forever be ruled by Vegences over Justice. " in which the personifcations of Justice and Vegences have a bet over if Batman will kill the man who killed his family betting a eternal claim over Batman depending on the choice he makes
He is grumpy. He is cranky. Pocket sized.
Hey everyone, I know it's going to be a busy day for a lot of people, but Google enrolled everyone over 18 into their AI program automatically.
If you have a google account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off.
Then you need to go to myactivity.google.com/product/gemini and turn off all Gemini activity tracking. You do have to do them in that order to make sure it works.
Honestly, I'm not sure how long this will last, but this should keep Gemini off your projects for a bit.
I saw this over on bluesky and figured it would be good to spread on here. It only takes a few minutes to do.
Gav’s Tavern Here’s the culmination of what I’ve been working on for the past couple months. It’s different from what I usually do. Also it was a lot of work, but I think I’m happy with it.
I made some Gav stickers too if you liked this.
Héra and Olwyn where the kind of women i grew up admiring, the Kind of Heros i wanted to grow up to be. So happy to get to see a story like this being told

I've seen so much cool Jason Todd fan art where he has the autopsy scares but also people worried that him having those scares wouldn't make sense, for that I offer you this solution. Jason Todd originally wasn't brought back by the Lazaris pit alone. I think Originally (if not one of the first versions of his resurrection) he gets brought back as this kind of like living zombie through DC shenanigans, crawling out of his own grave and wondering the streets of Gothem surviving on instinct alone until Talia finds him, takes him home and uses the pit to restore his mind. You can tottaly buy that mind healed Jason Todd would have those scares while pure Lazaris Pitt Jason Todd might not meaning there is so much room for both head cannons.
i know how you buckaroos play. SORRY TOWNSPEOPLE
