I feel like MoM was such a big disappointment plot wise. Stephen appeared to be such a boring character with not so much development (his big change is not killing an innocent girl and showing respect to his friend), and Wanda… well, they ruined Wanda. They could have done so much with her after Westieview, but they just reduced to a one dimensional character similar to the typical Disney villain. What really upsets me though is how they treated her mental health. All of her traumas were not addressed, even if she clearly needs help. After everything that happened to her, one would assume that somebody in the Avengers would have come to check up on her but.. no. Not even Strange, who only goes to her for help, not thinking about what dragging her into his mess would do to her, and he is a doctor! Come on! It’s not a surprise to find out that she turned to the darkhold, when she clearly lacks of a support system, even if she’s shown to interact with other people apart from the ones that are dead. And this is a shame. It could have been really interesting and compelling to see her deal with her traumas helped by the people that care for her, but this didn’t happen. Even at the end, she is alone. She can only rely on herself for comfort, and this is tragic and so… problematic? I mean, we just come from a show (moon knight) where the main character who’s dealing with mental health issues says more than once that he needs help, yet nobody steps up to do something. The same happens here. Is this really the message Marvel wants to send out? That you can’t get better? That you don’t deserve others to care for you? I don’t know, I’m just so disappointed, I feel as if Marvel just lost two big opportunities to properly address important topics, and regarding MoM, to actually have a real plot.
