Random Thoughts on Japril in 12x18/19
It didn’t take a rocket scientist to know that Jackson was gonna be bitter about the restraining order, but I was still shocked that they let things go as far as they did with the whole custody situation. I mean things got REAL for a bit there.
I am so over their petty fighting it’s not even funny. It’s the same old same old for like a year now. Hernia guy deserved doctors not in a custody battle. Webber did the right thing.
Mama Avery, you’re not quite Satan, but you might be his mistress. It’s time for you to GTFO. You’re not helping the situation here.
I sincerely hope that April is just as good a friend to Arizona as Arizona was to her during all this mess.
I’m gonna be honest. I totally thought something was wrong with the baby. Good job, writers, that was a good (albeit heartbreaking/warming) fake out.
I’m guessing that the first time April felt the baby kick was during her argument with Jackson and Webber. So the real question here is…Is the baby kicking because mommy’s upset or because he hears daddy’s voice?
Am I the only one bummed that Jackson didn’t notice April grabbing her belly? It kills me how out of sync they are with one another.
After finding out that the baby was OK, I was super bummed to discover that there was only one bun baking in April’s oven. Come on writers, you’ve broken them apart, can’t you at least give us twins?
But that last scene though, hello HOPE! It’s been a while since I’ve seen you.
Oh, how I loved that last scene. Let me count the ways.
Jackson admitted he didn’t like who he was becoming. Acceptance is the first step in overcoming douchiness, bro.
Friendship. Yes! Take it back to the start people.
Instead of dismissing or distrusting him, April bridged the gap.
And I honestly thought it would never happen this soon, but we got a belly touch! And it was absolutely precious!
They realized that baby #2 was healthy!
“This baby can kick.” - Sweeter words were never spoken.
Now it’s time for some realism.
That last scene did not mean that Jackson and April are back together.
They’ve got too many issues to sort out before they’re even ready for that. It’s a huge coup that that they’ve just stopped fighting.
It doesn’t mean that I don’t think it will happen but I don’t expect (or frankly even want) them to get back together until next season.
They may love each other but I don’t think they’ve liked each other for a long time.
My Hopes for Their Future
Rest of Season 12 - Return to Being Friends/Jackson Being Involved in the Pregnancy (in an anti-villian kind of way - if he’s got ulterior motives I’m gonna throw my shoe at him)
Beginning of Season 13 - Birth of Baby/Cute New Parent Crap
Middle of Season 13 - Serious Amounts of Eye Sexing
Season 13 Winter Finale - It’s Not Only the Eyes that are Sexing
Last Half of Season 13 - Reunited and It Feels So Good
Season 13 Finale - Wedding in a Field with Butterflies
