I’m don’t want to rain on the parade, but I don’t think this is true at all. Someone can be bad for a period of time, recognize that they’ve made horrible choices, and change for the better. A lot of “bad people,” don’t even know that they’re doing anything wrong. I think this oversimplification puts you at risk of dehumanizing flawed people, or people who’ve made some mistakes because you perceive them as bad.

If you think you might be a bad person right now– that’s okay because everything is liquid. Your life is going to take on a completely different shape ten years from now– your life might even look completely different ten months from now. We should encourage people with the prospect of changing for the better– not the idea that bad people are inherently bad and they like being that way. I don’t think that’s a positive way of thinking.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the good thing that the original post brings up is that it can be a good sign that you might not be a bad person if you’re asking yourself the question “am I a bad person?” because self-awareness is a positive quality. Brief, related aside: there’s a man named Christian Picciolini who used to be neo-Nazi– the worst thing a person can be. He’s since withdrawn from the Nazi movement and he co-founded a non-profit organization that councels members to help them disengage from hate groups. So he’s now helping to reduce the amount of Nazis in the world. In order to get where he is today, he once had to ask himself the question “am I a bad person?” and he most certainly was at the time. Christian had to make some serious changes to his life, and he had to right a lot of wrongs. Asking yourself if you’re a bad person, or wanting to be a good person doesn’t automatically prove that you are a good person; sometimes asking that question is just the first step in someone’s journey to becoming a better person.

My 9 year old sister wrote Thomas Sanders fan fiction and presented it in front of her school.

My sister, a big fan of Thomas Sanders (@thatsthat24​), decided to write this short story. A few weeks ago she read it in front of her school, as well as a panel of judges. She didn’t move on to the next level, but she’s a winner in my eyes.

I did my best to write out her cue-cards, maintaining her unique spelling, capitalization, and punctuation rules.

Thomas, if you somehow end up reading this, my sister (and I) would love to hear your thoughts on it.

“It was a normal day, Thomas Sanders was just a normal man(ish). One day he was watching his favourite TV show and he got a notafacation saying, "There is a new App cald Vine. The first 20 people to download it get to use it for free." So, Thomas went into the AppStore and looked for Vine, he downloaded it and on the opening screen it said, "CONGATULATIONS! You are the 1st to download Vine!"

Mrs. Klages and fellow classmates, get ready to hear all about Thomas Sanders' journey from a normal man to a well-known internet personality made famous by Vine and YouTube.

So, now lets get back to his story.

So Thomas looked at the instructions and the first think he knowdest is that you have to made videos about anything you chose that are 6.5 seconds. Thomas thought to himself "That should be easy enough," but he didn't know what was coming his way. Thomas was trying to think of things to Vine about but he couldn't think of anything. "Trees: no, fruit: never, signs; YES!" Thomas remembered that he had seen a stop sign on top of a stop sign. But he couldn't think of anything to do with it. Then, he thought of something he could do with his friend Terrance, he imagined in his mind, this:

Thomas says: I know I should stop procrastinating and start work is but I'm kind of looking for a sign

Terrance says: Like this?

Thomas says: No, from above

Thomas says: ughhh

So, Thomas called Terrance and said, "do you want to do a short video with me and post it to the internet?" and Terrance said "Sure!" Then, Thomas and Terrance made the vine, and enjoyed it. Thomas colaberated with so many people to make many more vines! He made vines based off of parcor, sleep, sining and the sander sides.

Thomas made so many vines that before he knew it he had been on vine for 2 whole years. When Thomas couldn't think of anything to vine about, he watched his favourite Tv show, but he didn't expect to get a notification that said, "Vine has been an app for far to long, So the makers of Vine are taking it of the grid," Thomas felt very sad due to this news.

Then, Thomas went back to watching his favourite TV show. And while he was watching he got another notification Saying, "Since Vine is not an app any longer, the makers of Vine are in the progress of making a new video app clad, YouTube, so all of the Vines will be put onto YouTube." So, after seeing this notification Thomas went on his phone to the AppStore and went to "New Releases so he could see youTube right away.

Then, Thomas went back to watching his favourite TV Show, looking back at his phone every so often to see if YouTube had showed up. Then, Thomas fell asleep while watching his favourite TV show and while he was sleeping there was a LOUD SCREEM in his favourite TV Show, which woke Thomas up. Then, Thomas looked at his phone to see what time it was… and it was 3:00AM!

Thomas then saw YouTube on the AppStore, so he downloaded it and went into the instructions and it said "You have to make Videos about anything you chose, that have an unlimited amout of time," So, Thomas thought to himself, "That should be easy enough," but he didn't know what was coming his way. Then, Thomas tryed to think of things to make videos about, but he couldn't think of anything!

Then, Thomas thought of something, "The Sanders Sides!" remembered that in some of his vines he had used the 4 Sanders Sides (Virgil, logan, Roman and patton). So, Thomas tried to think of things to do with the sanders sides. Then, Thomas thought that he could make a series about the sanders sides. So, Thomas went to all of the stores he could find to get micriphones, cameras and (stage) lights.

After geting the supplies he needed, he went back home and set up his "stutio"in his living room. So, Thomas tryed to shoot a video telling the audience all about himself and why he decided to become a YouTuber. Then, Thomas tryed to make another Video telling the audience about the Sanders Sides. So, after about 5 hours had past, he went back into YouTube and saw that there was Approxamitly 22,000 comments, 22,000 likes and 2,000 subscribers to his channel. After this avent, Thomas felt very proud, so to congratulate himself he ordered an extra large PIZZA! Thomas made lots of differite videos, even some series, 2 exampells are… "Voices of unreason (a game where someone draws a picture of an alien like thing and you have to talk like what you think the character would talk like.) and "The Sanders Sides",(a video where the 4 Sander Sides meet up and talked about interesting things.). I hope that my presentation has inforemed or entertaned you and as Thomas always says…
