Update
We’re entering into the final countdown folks! We’re fixing up a few loose ends here and there in preparation for the site opening tonight! And in case you want to prepare too, here’s the code for the app ahead of time! For the ‘membergrouphere’ parts of the code, put the name of the member groups listed within the last update there in all lowercase. Code under the cut!
Meet Regina Werter. Outside of being from outside of Cowden, her history is entirely up to you and her personality is yours to interpret from the above graphic! Have fun!
Meet Liam Starritt. Outside of being a Cowden native, his history is entirely up to you and his personality is yours to interpret from the above graphic! Have fun!
Here’s a cute little sneak peak of what’s comin’ for y’all today!
Meet Jack Archbell. Outside of being a Cowden native and doing some shady dealings under the table, his history is entirely up to you and his personality is yours to interpret from the above graphic! Have fun!
can someone explain the alignment chart for me but in like, the simplest wording possible lmao
lawful good: i want to do the right thing, and following society’s rules is the best way to do that
neutral good: i want to do what’s right, and i’m willing to bend or break the rules as long as no one gets hurt
chaotic good: i’m willing to do whatever it takes as long as it’s to do the right thing
lawful neutral: following the rules of society is the most important thing, and that matters more to me than doing what’s right
true neutral: i just want myself and the people i care about to be happy
chaotic neutral: i want my freedom, and i don’t care what i have to do to keep it
lawful evil: to impede the protagonists (in whatever evil way) is my primary goal, but i follow my own code of morals even when it’s inconvenient
neutral evil: to impede the protagonists (in whatever evil way) is the my primary goal, and while i’ll do what it takes to achieve it, i also won’t go out of my way to do unnecessary damage
chaotic evil: i relish in destruction and want to do as much damage as possible while i try to achieve my primary goal
Update
Hey all! We just thought we’d let you in on some site mechanics prior to opening!
You all are aware of the plotline on its most basic level - creepy things happen in Cowden sometimes and people are aware of it, even if they generally keep it to themselves. What you don’t know, however, is the following:if you allow it, the admin team can pop into your thread, roll a virtual d20 to determine the intensity of the event (will provide link to screenshot), and have an event happen that the characters within that thread can react to, however big or small that reaction might be.
And since we mentioned the d20, lets reveal the member groups!
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to shoot us a message here! More info and adoptables to come!
Meet Paul McBrayer. He grew up watching the small town of Cowden grow, if only a little bit, and he loved being apart of that growth even in his youth. He volunteered his time with the church and often made himself available to the elderly in the area to mow their lawns, fix up things around their house, and just generally be a help to them. He went on to the police academy and became a police officer for the town he loved, looking to keep things orderly and safe for all of the people. He soon found himself elected as the sheriff of the town and held that position until the last election - when he was required to retire and his own son was elected in his stead. Newly retired, Paul doesn’t know what to do with himself in general and is trying to find the thing to help him feel useful, to help him feel not so-old.
As a person, he is very much a Good Ol Boy, cracking jokes every chance he gets and working hard at anything he chooses to do. While he doesn’t let people close too often, he isn’t cold. He also is a steady hand in times of crisis, someone people look to when things are going wrong. While sheriff - and perhaps even now - he had some under-the-table dealings, the likes of which are up to you to decide. It is also up to you whether or not he believes in spirits or thinks anything odd is happening in Cowden.
Welcome to Cowden, a small town hidden in the Appalachian mountains with secrets deeper than the mines they dig. Darkness stirs the trees, whispers are lost in the wind. But ignorance is bliss in Cowden - will you be the one to uncover its secrets? Hey, y’all!! First of all, we’d love to get started on plotting with you, so if you’ve already got a character in mind, head on over to the #flrp tag and post a character blurb! If you haven’t already, please also post an intro so we can get to know you better.
Second of all, we’d like some feedback from YOU! What would you like to see from us, prior to site opening? Information on member groups, more info on the town of Cowden, or site mechanics? Let us know!!!
