i dunno if you've made a post about this already, but i was wondering what you used to make your tavros horns?

If I can recall my tavros horns were made of A4 mailing tubes, two hair bands (one for craft, other for wear), foil (or alternatively, newspaper), 2 ply twine, paint, craft glue and mod podge.
- First of all the mailing tubes must be cut to size. In my opinion 6.5 - 7 inches in length would suffice. The cut must be diagonal. If you think it’s too small, it’s probably the perfect length. Keep all the caps on the tube. Mailing tubes are designed to be lightweight yet extremely sturdy for shipping purposes. We're gonna use that to our advantage.
- With a regular hair band, snap it in two from the centre. With your choice of adhesive, attach these on the short side of each mailing tube. They must point upward to frame the point of the horns. This was hard, I used a lot of air drying clay to attach these.
- With foil or newspaper, fill in the remainder of the horns. Use twine to tightly tie the materials to the hair band frame. Add more material to keep a consistent shape as needed. This is a thoughtful step.
- Starting from the base to tip, use twine and concisely wrap the entire horn. This creates a uniform texture. Occasionally apply craft glue to the horn as you wrap to keep the twine fixed. Once finished it’ll look pretty. The shape of the horn is finished. This is also a thoughtful step, do not rush. The twine adds texture while giving an extra boost in sturdiness without adding weight.
- Paint paint paint (I used red an yellow. You can use orange instead of red). Paint the entire horn yellow, at the base use red and blend. Be careful, red is strong, do not paint destructively. Allow a day to dry. Or two. I don’t know.
- This is optional, yet satisfying. Generously apply mod podge for fix and finish (you can use glossy, matte, whatever). This product is white and goopy, don’t stress your horns won’t be ruined. Allow a couple of days to dry into a clear finish. Your horns are done, next step is to attach these onto a hair band.
- Retrieve the caps from the mailing tubes, and drill two holes. Slip a zip tie in the holes in each cap, and attach the caps onto a sturdy hair band and tighten as much as you can. Apply craft glue to prevent sliding.
- Attach the horns to the caps. You’re finished. If done correctly, you should now have gorgeously painted horns that are flawless in shape, extremely lightweight and impossibly sturdy. No other method can simultaneously achieve these factors. These are also versatile too. If your hairband breaks, just take the horns off the caps, and attach new caps on a new hairband and re attach the horns. Easy.
Be sure to bring an extra hairband and zip ties with you when you go out with your horns, in case of any cosplay malfunctions.
