The Halo of the Moon Shone Brightly Again
Tsukishima indeed won a midair battle with his wits and skills. This chapter got me teary eyed because the halo around the moon shone brightly yet again. Just like in the game with Shiratorizawa, he got an important set’s winning point through an amazing block.
Ever since the beginning Tsukishima had some insecurities when it comes to spikers who are the obvious show stealers in a match and insecurities when it comes to little giants. His brother wasn’t given such a chance to show his skills against the little giant of his time. But Tsukishima was able to show the weakness of little giant spikers and was able to give them a taste of their medicine in a stunning midair battle. Tsukishima showed that these monsters are not invincible.
Tsukishima is a monster wall in his own witty way. In this panel he even looks like he’s looking down with smug face on all them little giants.
It wasn’t luck nor an easy technique. It was a skill honed through practice and patient observation.
I loved how shocked the spikers were with what he did.
And how internally amazed all the blockers were.
His brother did not have a chance. But Tsukishima here in this moment was able to do it for the both of them and defeated the little giant in that midair battle.
And this sign was like a whole conversation carrying a lot of meaning for the two of them. Reminiscent of his brother’s match long ago and little Tsukishima so proud.
Only this time it is the little brother playing and winning on the court and the big brother up there at the audience watching and cheering proudly.
