For a second I thought she was getting rid of your coffee table. Mine is too, but, according to her, we can’t be too modest, otherwise it will look incredibly fake. I wouldn’t know, I will never be a mother, but I do see her side. And yes, she does. She loves me, but she also needs to let me grow on my own. She should trust me she raised me properly by now.
I hope not, I actually love my coffee table. Most of my furniture is vintage and I’d hate to part with any of it, so I couldn’t imagine the anguish you felt.
