My Thoughts on Iron Lung

It took longer than I thought to put my thoughts together in a coherent manner, so now I'm back with my thoughts on Iron Lung.

First things first, it's been a long time since any sort of horror story has been able to get me to feel what the characters are experiencing emotionally like Iron Lung has. I believe the last time I felt like this was when I first saw the Doctor Who episode, Midnight.

My biggest complaint with most horror movies is that the characters tend to feel more like stereotypes than actual human beings. I believe horror works best when the characters feel real, which Iron Lung does exceptionally well. You can feel Simon's frustration, hope, and more throughout the movie, which despite the situation feeling hopeless you just can't help but route for the guy.

After the movie, my sister, @damoonlightsys and I talked quite a bit about the voices and hallucinations Simon experiences. About whether they are from the eldritch nature of the blood ocean or from the oxygen deprivation, radiation poisoning, concussions, etc. that Simon has experienced throughout the course of the film. The movie is open-ended in a way that allows you to interpret it how you want. It has definitely opened the doors for fan fiction writers to go wild with the ending and world building, albiet most of the heavy lifting for that was done by the developer of Iron Lung, David Szymanski.

In all honesty, I would love to see more films come out that are true to its source like this one. Markiplier has proven that a truly faithful video game movie adaptation can be done.

Fucking hell that was such a great experience, still in the mist of processing it all but I sure as hell will be making a post later today or tomorrow about my thoughts on Iron Lung.

Right now I'm just a bit woosy due to having a bloody nose at the end of the movie. Not a bad one, thank God. I really wouldn't want a repeat of the time I saw Infinity War and caused someone to panic in the bathroom after seeing the lower half of my face covered in my own blood. Anemia's a bitch.

Currently I'm excited since my sister and I are finally going to get to see Iron Lung today for the first time.

After the announcement, I got right to drawing and decided to go the horror route by making a warning poster about the Creeking. I imagine a player making something like this to warn others about the threat in the Pale Gardens.

Absolutely living for the idea that due to 14’s TARDIS being duplicated there’s also a duplicate Sutekh who’s just…there, just vibing with Donna and 14.

So I've had this is my brain since sesson six of Secret Life, basically Martin singing Ruthlessness from the Epic musical with a few lyric changes.

I'm thinking of making an animatic based around this with Martin confronting Grian and Etho at the Secret Keeper.

I just got my hands on procreate dreams, so might as well do so.

Under the cut is basically the parody of a clip of the song Ruthlessness in the context of Martin at the end of Season six.

ADVENTURE TIME

I present four elemental heroes here to protect Ooo!

Limone, Toa of Candy

A knight of Princess Bubblegum, she uses her candy elemental abilities to stop the forces of darkness from getting past the Candy Castle's walls. She may be a bit sour, but she's ready for anything. Watch out for her caffeinated fighting style, she will catch you by suprise.

Snowak, Toa of Frost

Although shy and abandoned by the Ice King, this hero wanders the powder slopes and pines to keep the Ice Kingdom safe. Him and Finn team up on occasion in times of need, and they quietly whisper to each other as to not disturb the icy calm.

Glopop, Toa of Slime

A sworn warrior of the Slime Kingdom, this laid back (but generally pleasant) lad will pummel any foe stupid enough to throw off Slime Kingdom's vibe. He's got magic short sword gauntlets, and he spars regularly with anyone who's willing to challenge him.

Flazah, Toa of Flame

Flazah stands by Flame Princess in the "let's be less evil" camp, and wishes the flame citizens felt the same. She finds her job frustrating and she feels awkward, but she can always calm herself down by tending to fire wolves. She wants more friends that aren't animals, though.

I decided to try drawing in the adventure time art style, starting with expressions so I chose to draw Simon.

I did not mean to make the surprised pikachu meme with Simon, but I did.

Do I regret this...nope!

I second this as someone who was deeply disappointed by the ending of Tales of Arcadia.

Time travel is not a good fix-it trope writers. Time-travel basically will reset everything until the entire story that was told is basically meaningless since it might as well never happened. Any sacrifices made loose all meaning and any character growth that was made would be gone.

In conclusion, I will be sorely disappointed if Fionna and Cake ends like Tales of Arcadia did.
