What concerns me the most about people bashing Holly Conrad

and calling her a possum and piece of shit for standing with Felix against the defamation WSJ did is:

she never approved of those jokes and believes the consequences are fair, all youtubers wanna do is defend him from the harassing from media specially the WSJ

Holly has been really active with PC culture and SJWs

has attended rallies for woman rights and against alt-right

She strongly believes white privilege is real and is something beyond money sometimes it just means being able to not be harassed for your skin color

she Stood for Bernie and Hillary after Bernie was disqualified

Has been even more active since trump won and been using her platform to point out issues like the Muslim ban and supports the ACLU

she stands against the keystone pipeline 

she’s a big advocate for animal rights and shelters animals

Basically Holly stands for a lot of things people bashing her stand for but just because she disagrees with you on ONE topic suddenly all of that is meaningless and i’m sure this sorta applies to other youtubers as well

This is what throwing the terms nazi and nazi apologist too loosely means and you end up alienating people who agree with you on the big majority of the issues

I’ve been seeing headass headlines this for the past few days, and I simply ignored it bc the media does shit like this for money and clickbait. But I realized this is more than the media tryna get their coins, this is a blatant attack on black women and other woc. So @ white women? I think it’s time we have a little chat. 

1. Beyonce has gone through a miscarriage, and thousands of other women have been through it as well. It is a terrible experience that no one deserves to go through. But Beyonce is a FAMOUS PERSON, and she has one of the largest fanbases in the world. So when she delivers news such as being pregnant with TWINS, of course the beyhive is gonna to go above and beyond when it comes to the reaction.  Ya’ll dragged her through the mud w/ her first pregnancy trying to say it was faked. Now that she’s pregnant for a second time, she’s doing all these photo shoots to further prove the accuracy of it. And now ya’ll are criticizing her for it????? Tryna cover your asses for how you treated her 5 years ago??????? Get the fuck over it, because ya’ll didn’t say shit when these women did THIS w/ their pregnancy announcements: 

2. Serena Williams has been demonized and ridiculed for her body type since FOREVER. People say that her body is “too masculine” and how she’s “built like a man”. It’s fucking gross because Serena is one of the most hard working athletes in the WORLD, and her body type shouldn’t be affiliated with the blood, sweat, and tears that goes into her career. White women, you can’t say that you’re an advocate for equality when you criticize a black woman’s photo shoot, deeming it “soft porn”, and yet you praise THESE photoshoots: 

When a white woman, or hell even a non-black woman does shit like this, ya’ll are so quick to write article about how “empowering” they’re being. But when a black woman does it ya’ll all of the sudden wanna further sexualize and make it about “soft porn”??? Get over yourselves and let a black women love herself after receiving massive amounts of slander for her body type. 

3. The role in Ghost in the Shell is definitely about race. If her character’s mom is Asian, then why tf couldn’t they just get an Asian person to play the character in the damn first place???? 

She should’ve just said “a woc deserves the role more than me, but unfortunately I can’t control who they cast” and then moved on. But nope, she had to make it about herself and disregard the fact woc are hardly ever represented in movies, especially Asian women.   

4.  You can’t criticize a movie you don’t even relate to on a cultural level. Moonlight takes the components of black struggles, black culture, black life, and puts it into a true cinematic experience. You don’t have to like the movie, but the movie itself is more about whether you “like it” or not. It’s whether you relate to it, whether you feel with it, and whether your experiences correlate with the character’s experiences. A “better plot” wouldn’t do shit Becky, you either get it or not. Not to mention Camilla Long was kissing La La Land’s ass: 

So the point of this post isn’t to slander all white women and shame them. The point of this post to to show how frustrated black women are with white feminism. White women can be just as racist as white men, and they sure as hell benefit off that privilege. This is why a lot of black women these days kinda go side eyed when a white women says she’s a feminist. Are you a feminist for all women? Or are you a feminist for WHITE women. Dogs. Literally ALL dogs have had their genetics modified to make them more docile, loyal, trusting, energetic, obedient ect.

Ears of corn used to be the size of your thumb. Through selective ‘breeding’ we chose the strains of corn that were the biggest, fastest growing, most resilient ect. Ect.

THAT is a GMO. I don’t know where the idea that genetic modification meant they’re injecting your food stuffs with chemicals to change its DNA. That’s not how it works.

However, they ARE spraying your veggies with pesticides and that is something you should be worried about.

Companies like Monsanto are evil. But not because they are breeding crops to feed more people. But because they’re monopolizing the farming market, sueing farmers who share a geographic area and have some of the same strains of crops in their fields because of unavoidable cross pollination and lying about their business practices.

Those other parts of the world that don’t have the benefit of a food surplus and can’t pick and choose what they eat depend on GMOs to not die of starvation or watch their children waste away. I despise Monsanto as much as the next person and if they ever go out of business, I’ll be the first to dance a jig, but condemning GMOs just because one megacorp is a pile of shitbags is beyond idiotic. If scientists can create new strains of seeds that can withstand disease, pests, all while yielding more foodstuff, then we should be throwing our support behind them.

Look guys, if me or anyone else calling out @markiplier for his half-baked ‘call for respect’ gets you upset then you’ve missed the point.

Under normal circumstances, his video would have some heart to it and I could see myself maybe agreeing with it. But these are not normal circumstances. Pewdiepie’s anti-Semitic 'jokes’ aren’t just 'jokes’ that can be forgotten with a half-assed 'apology’. Not when nazism is frighteningly gaining traction under the guise of the 'alt-right’. Not when the notion that scapegoating vulnerable groups has been championed by the US president.

The fact that markiplier ONLY makes a video saying 'respect has been lost’ when he defends anti-Semitic jokes is awful. Asserting that pewdiepie is 'not’ an anti-Semite is a problem. It’s dangerous. It’s dangerous because alt-right nazis will see that message and be aware that they can pursue anti-Semitic agendas and one of two things will happen. 1 - People won’t call them out for anti-semitism because as markiplier has shown, we won’t call it out when it happens. Or 2 - it doesn’t matter if they pursue anti-semitism (or any other hideous bigotry) because people like markiplier have asserted that EVERYONE somehow deserves respect.

Markiplier’s video demonstrates a total lack of understanding of the current climate of politics and the rise in fascism. Maybe if he had made his video at another time it would have been easier to accept, but when you call for 'respect’ only because your friend’s in trouble for making horrific anti-Semitic 'jokes’ then your priorities are clearly warped. Where was markiplier’s video calling for respect for Jewish people because of shit like this? Oh yeah that’s right, there wasn’t one.

Follow up thought

I don't think pewdiepie is a nazi. I think that how freely that term is being used in this situation is dangerous. If we start calling anyone a nazi for some shitty remarks they made, it diminishes the connotations of the word and then it's not taken seriously. However, I do think he may be slightly antisemitic. Even if it's on some unconscious level. He wouldn't have made these jokes if he weren't. To be honest, I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly where I stand on this matter. These posts are mostly just to help for now. I need to do some more thinking and gather more information.

Change of Thought

  I was literally going to make my first major post about the PewDiePie thing and his actions and this websites reactions but after thinking about it and doing some research, I’ve come to the conclusion that there is literally no excuse for what he did. He’s gotten into similar situations before and he should know better. Anyways, I think that’s all I’m going to say on the subject for now.
