:) so shit has been. well. shitty. at work.

don't get my wrong, love my job still and even a lot of my coworkers, but i have now reported my manager (2 levels above me) twice in the past 2 weeks.

first time was her total disrespect to me wrt a legit safety concern i had about working by myself the day after an incident occurred. i asked that it be addressed, to find that it had to go to someone else bc the HR manager said he couldn't do it bc they were the same level (i think the conflict of interest there was actually that they are besties, but whatever) so it got forwarded to the director above her.

came in today to find that the director has gone on leave and appointed my manager as acting director in the meantime. i was going to speak to HR about friday's shitstorm, in which my manager full-on verbally abused my coworker while she was with me, and i went to HR today and requested that since this had not been actioned by the director, that it gets escalated immediately to the next level above. which is the highest level, bc he's the only one higher if she's a director for the time being. lol.

and all of this was meant to have been actioned before my team leader goes on leave. it's not looking super likely rn.

today i rang up a customer at work for $13.36 and i said with such genuine cheer "uh-oh! two years before the plague hit England, if anyone cares!" and i watched the customer's eyes as they were clearly taken aback and then tried to pretend to be interested at all. they made such a valiant effort. they were like I don't wanna damper this guy's plague enthusiasm. They said, very awkwardly, "haha, uh-oh!"

so i have shitty nails that lead to ingrown toenails pretty frequently. probably isn't helped by the fact that finding shoes that fit me is v v difficult.

anyway, i made an appt on tuesday - w my boss standing there okaying it, and immediately calling my mum to ask her to put the appt on our calendar at home - for a podiatry session to fix it up (one of my nails got a nasty infection so i had to get it sorted, and i did my best at home but w the pain and my limited tools i couldn't do much)

that appt was today

i showed up to find out that it was. somehow. in 2 fucking months?????

anyway i had a bit of a meltdown today bc for a big chunk of this year i have been fucking suffering w memory issues, specifically w numbers and dates, and i swear i wouldn't have made that appt if i had thought it was so far away. like, my nails needed immediate attention, not several months away

so yeah there was a meltdown. i don't think i'm 'going crazy', but this is making me feel like that's the case, and i'm fairly sure a large chunk is stress (and the mild cold i got several weeks ago, which i am still using 2 nasal sprays for, gave me a bad case of both dizziness and brain fog that i found v hard to deal with), but i am so sick of fucking up fairly important things bc numbers aren't working for me. i truly don't get what's going on, bc triple checking my work etc isn't really working for me at this point. the opinion of 2 people i mentioned today's fuckup to was that the appt system itself glitched on me, which feels like it must have been the case bc i genuinely would not have picked a date in september, but considering the way my brain is lately idk.

(i ended up taking the afternoon off work instead of just the half hour i would have had for my appt, and drove 50 min to the clinic i've been going to for a while just to get my nails sorted. that worked well, and now i've probs seen every podiatrist there lol. i had done a pretty good job on my problem nail, apparently, but it defs needed the professional tools to get this last jagged piece of nail out of the skin. i also messaged a friend who was coming in to volunteer at the library for the afternoon and he came with me instead - we got some food after and checked out 2 card shops, so it was a pretty pleasant afternoon)
