i can not write fanfics on account of the fact that i am impatient, so i thought i'd throw out all of my ideas for davekat fics. if you like one feel free to take it and run with it!
1.) Mr. strider is a young music professor at a college, i'd say around 22, and the hot-headed 20 year old karkat vantas is forced to take his class. Karkat is always making snarky remarks under his breath and all around being himself. You can take this whatever direction, maybe dave asks karkat to stay after class and asks him out, your choice!
2.) There are two lands seated right across from eachother, Derse and Prospit. Inside of each are the Dersites and the Prospitians, along with the head castles. Dave is the prince of Derse along with his two sisters and his brother. Derse and Prospit are at a standoff, but he still manages to secretly chat with Jade and June of the Prospit castle. Anyway, back to the Davekat, Karkat is one of the employees at the Derse castle. He is paid to cook and clean and just keep the castle from falling apart with the help of his coworker Kanaya. They were both originally employed at the Prospitian castle, but they were sent here to help since they Dersite castle was low on staff. That was before Prospit and Derse were at eachother's throats, so now they're stuck here until its sorted out. Feel free to make it both Davekat and Rosemary, double points if you do actually.
3.) Karkat and Kanaya are cousins, they'd been conjoined at the hip since they were toddlers. Kanaya is a vampire, her mother had been one and it was passed onto her. In middleschool there was a tiny mishap where a certain hungry Kanaya bit the fuck out of Karkat and turned him. Oops. Well here they are as adults in college, still trying to keep their vampire asses out of trouble, especially in a town overrun by humans. Karkat begins seeing a boy named Dave who does not know he's a vampire. Again, bonus points for Rosemary being included. I have more ideas for this but you can do whatever! If you need more ideas though feel free to dm me^
4.) I really like the royal aus spare me. Anyway, Prince Dave of Derse has always been holed up in this dumbass castle since he was a child. His "father", Br*, refuses for Dave and Dirk to leave without guards surrounding them, which is quite annoying to both the boys. One night at around 1 a.m., a fed-up Dave miraculously sneaks out without anyone seeing him. He walks to the poor part of town where he finds Karkat Vantas and asks him for directions. Even while wearing an awful disguise of just a hood, Karkat doesn't recognize him and warns him about dangerous parts of the area and points him in the correct direction. Long story short Dave probably gets his ass in trouble somehow and a nearby Karkat has to rescue his dumbass. Maybe Dave still tries to keep the fact that he's a prince from Karkat. I love this idea somebody pls
5.) Meteor AU where Dave is *incredibly* jealous of and hates Gamzee. Anytime Karkat mentions Gamzee or he hears a tiny noise from a vent he literally gets so mad BWHAHHA. Just jealous!Dave in general makes my heart soar, please guys give me jealous Dave aus i need food and i need it now
