Although my VN has been crushed down to like a ten-minute (at most) demo (I'm scale-blind and school has been kicking my ass) it's still insane to me that this thing is tangible. In about a month I'll have released my first demo after trying to make a game for like, six years now. I'm proud this thing is going to exist and that people get to see it soon :,).

Making Abyssal Zone Tour over the past few months has been such a journey in trying to crush some of my worst creative habits (starting over from square one on a whim, waning interest, getting too caught up in making it perfect, etc...) but I think I'm genuinely seeing some progress...

I've always believed that -Strive- is particularly great as taking its cast in a new direction that is both new, unexpected, and interesting and extremely faithful to who they are at their core. There aren't many characters that I feel have stagnated or regressed in their characterization at all! I am infatuated with all of them! But, guys. Guys. Guys. I don't think I have been as entranced by a -Strive- re-envisioning since Testament came out, and they were the character that got me into Guilty Gear to begin with. Venom is so fucking good man.

I constantly told a friend I hoped that Robo-ky would be incorporated in Venom's moveset, and once again, I am the proven Oracle of Delphine the way I called that shit! It's so good! I love the little glimpse we got of their dynamic in the trailer. They're Batman and Robin!! Sam and Max!!! It's perfect!

I really wasn't sure what direction they'd take Venom, but becoming a vigilante on behalf of the city he lives in fits his character to the t. He is so so so dedicated to what he loves!!! I like that despite how stoic he is, you can tell he's playing the act up just a little bit. To me he is like the male hero in a shoujo anime. A more serious Tuxedo Mask. I'm insane about him!

I'm super eager to play his arcade mode. Maybe afterwards I'll have some more well-worded thoughts about him but ah. I just needed to gush. My beautiful wife has come home.
