STRANGE HILL HIGH FANDOM I HAVE ANOTHER THEORY

as I was writing a response to another ask i got, I wanted to talk about another interesting thing I noticed in the series. You can see my exact moment of realization where I started connecting some dots.

-don't even get me diving deep into the school's crest/motto “tres nos salvabunt” ("three will save us") which implies there has always been a trio in every generation that protects the school from bad things happening. OH MY GOD THE GHOST CHILDREN. GUYS THE THREE GHOST CHILDREN THAT WERE STUCK IN DETENTION PURGATORY (S1 Ep 9) WHAT IF THEY WERE THE THREE THAT PROTECTED THE SCHOOL IN A PAST GENERATION.

Evidence?

"why were they going crazy and destroying the school then??" FIRST OF ALL they were trapped for 150 years so yeah I would have a bit of a grudge too. SECOND OF ALL they are dead, rendering them out of that responsibility of keeping the school safe and instead (ironically) becoming the problem. THIRD OF ALL throughout the series we can see Mitchell, Becky, and Templeton get in detention quite frequently, which can be a similarity between the 'chosen' students being the troublemakers. FOURTH OF ALL why would the writers make 3 children specifically? they could have had 2, 4, or even 1 being trapped but they chose 3.

Heck, NEW HEADCANON/THEORY: (I'm going to use the American version of sorting the grades because idk what the heck the Brits have going on) The new 7th graders (middle schoolers) have 3 students that are chosen to protect the school until they graduate in 12th grade. Once those 3 students graduate, the cycle repeats with the new 7th grade class, making new chosen students come around every ~6 years. That's assuming they stay in the same school for their entire "secondary" years, but maybe staying at the school is coincidentally part of the prophecy.

Alternatively, the motto "three will save us" is referencing specifically Mitchell, Becky, and Templeton possibly in future episodes stopping all of the strange stuff entirely as like a finale episode or something,,
