Favourite colour: stormy sea grey-blue, the colour you get when the wind is high and white foam is just starting to crest each wave. It’s a cold blue, little bit of lead-grey in it, maybe a bit of rich royal blue to warm it just a little, and I love it.
Currently reading: I’m re-reading Katie Mack’s “The End of Everything (Astrophysically Speaking)”, which is a brilliant book on some of the ways the universe will end. She’s a great writer and speaker who makes cosmology accessible to everyone.
Last song: “Don’t I Hold You” by Wheat.
Last series: my fiancé and I watched “The Undeclared War”, a British cyber security disaster drama with Adrian Lester and Simon Pegg. Both actors I usually enjoy watching, but the series became a total hate-watch because every decision made was so utterly ridiculous - particularly those made by the main character, a student on work experience for a year who 50% of the time storms around GCHQ (UK cyber-security spy department) demanding answers from very very senior management about things way above her paygrade, and the other 50% walking around with her arms folded across her chest like a 13 year old moping about her complicated love-life. It was awful, made no sense, and seemed to be going for the “ooh, isn’t this SO REALISTIC?? LOOK WHAT COULD EASILY HAPPEN!!” angle while disregarding any coherent plot/character decisions.
Last movie: I genuinely can’t remember. Maybe Naked Gun on telly in the hotel late one night when we were on holiday last month?
Sweet/spicy/savoury: a little of each? I’m not really into sweets/candy but I do like chocolate. I like some spice but not “blow your head off” spice. I like a bit of savoury but nothing bland.
Currently working on: Today? Part Four of “Too Long In The Midnight Sea”, which I am thoroughly enjoying. Eddie Munson as a somewhat reluctant mechanic, living in a cabin a the forest, traumatised as fuck and being slowly brought back to life by his neighbour? Yeah, it’s fun, I’m enjoying working on it.
I’ve been bewitched body and soul by Eddie Munson and I can feel blurbs/drabbles/headcanon/one-shots squirrelling away in my imagination and dying to get out, so there’s a good chance I’ll post some Other Stuff eventually as well.
