Dirk strider is so dumb. Honestly there is nothing sexy or interesting about him. He wears triangle anime shades. He has a fucking hat on his shirt. He thinks knowing rudimentary philosophy makes him some kind of intellectual badass who is better than everyone else. He wears baggy pants and horse jockey wear. He probably isnt even short enough to be a horse jockey. He has a puppet fetish and a horse fetish and HIS HAIR STICKS UP LIKE AN ANIME CHARACTER. HE IS SO UNSEXY. HE IS SO DUMB. I HATE HIM. I hate dirk strider. I loathe him. I despise him. I hate him so much. His orange eyes that looks like… like fire. Hell fire. This fire in my skin. This burning desire is turning me to sin. My SUPER FANTASTIC girlfriend swept me away to Disneyland this past weekend and we had a blast! I didn’t take many photos of the trip because we were just SO excited to be there after a year of absence! (that is a looong time for us to be away from disney!). Here are the highlights! <3
SHRUGS!! I have been gone for a long time I don't know if I'm ending my hiatus yet but lots has happened in my life and I would like to inform people/make some stuff clear :)
I have started seeing a psychiatrist and taking medicine for anxiety and depression, it's not perfect but I feel like overall I am becoming a whole person (whereas before I've always felt like maybe 10% of a person). Healthwise I've made like a 180 so that is really really good. I also saw a therapist for a while but I can no longer afford it, but yeah. Health!
I got jobs. I did a little bit of outreach presenting to high school students for Ryman Arts (which is a really cool free art program for SoCal high schoolers) but I haven't had time to do much of that lately. I got a job at Target in the grocery department! I am seasonal but my hopes are high that I will get hired full-time. I don't know yet whether I can see myself at Target for the rest of my life or anything, but for now I'm really enjoying my job (for once!!!) and I'm really happy there. I am working with motivated and cheerful people, working in food which I enjoy, lots of crosstraining at Target so there's always something new to learn.
I have had some people asking me about my art! I've had some people express their condolences that I am working retail. I've had some people ask if I've been applying to animation studios for work. I know these are all really reasonable questions but if I can avoid getting them in the future, that would be great! Especially please don't say you're sorry that retail is "all I could find," as I have been actively seeking out retail/grocery positions and am pleased as punch to have the job that I have. I am 200% happier being useful and productive at Target right now while I am overcoming life-long symptoms of mental illness, rather than when I was forcing myself to follow career paths that I was not sure about. (Hint: I was miserable.)
I am not currently applying to animation studios for work, and don't know when I will be. HOWEVER I am still totally into drawing and still love to talk about art! Just... sometimes I feel uncomfortably pressured to hurry up and snatch up some art jobs, when honestly I'm not ready for it. (:
So art-wise, I have been drawing during my whole hiatus. If you are new to this blog or to me, let me just tell you that I am a big ol furry. When I took my hiatus, porn, furry, and fan-art was all I felt comfortable drawing without being under crushing pressure. I've been drawing a bunch of that this whole time under another username which I will happily give you if you are interested in seeing that art (lots of pokemon, some furries, a few homestucks, most of it all porn and the majority of it commissioned).
To be honest I think most of that art is okay. A lot of it, especially lately, is either rushed or not as loved as I would like. But I drew a loooot and the practice alone may have helped me improve a little, who knows.
So I think that's it!! I'll probably add more to this later but I have stuff to do so later suckers I miss yall <3
