ever since maddie had gotten released from the hospital estella had been acting as her own personal nurse. she took that role very seriously. when she heard a knock on the door she went to answer it. “yes,” she nodded and stepped outside, closing the door behind her, “can’t do that. she’s asleep.”
“what the fuck?” he asked, shaking his leg impatiently. “are you kidding? it’s not like i’m going to take her out around town. i just want to see her.” he said. “and shouldn’t she be deciding if she wants to see me or not instead of having you decide for her?”

preston had been locked up in the safe house the past few days, and to say he’d be anxiously waiting to get out had been an understatement. this made him all the more impatient when estella opened the door and not maddie. “estella?” he asked, a bit confused. “can you move?”

“C’mon, it’ll just be for a night or two,” City said, trying to convince them to let her spend the night. “I’ll give you a couple dime bags if you let me crash here, on the house,” she offered, “if you want them, that is.”
“fine.” he sighed. “but try to avoid mrs gardner, i don’t need to explain to her how i know you. what did you even do to not be able to be in your own house?”
