Our Beautiful Life- Chapter 5(Smut Alert)
Chapter 5: Let Them See
God, I miss him.
I couldn’t remember how long it had been since that day. I couldn’t even think about what had happened without bursting into tears all over again. I let out a sigh and lifted my head from my pillow for the first time today. The sun was already starting to set, and I was grateful for the growing darkness. I wouldn’t have to look at my messy room, or the untouched bowl of soup on my desk. The smell alone just made me nauseous. I promptly flipped over my tear-stained pillow and buried my face in it. Should I scream? Would that be too dramatic? I always felt too dramatic for my own good.
My mom’s words were still rattling around in my head. I loved Jack, without a shadow of a doubt. Why couldn’t she see that? I wanted her to be okay with this, more than anything. I didn’t want to have to go against her. And Jack… why hadn’t he understood? I wasn’t angry with him, I never had been. I just wanted to talk to him. I knew he was giving me space, but this was the longest we’d ever gone without talking. It worried me. And I missed his strong, comforting presence. I missed his smile, his kisses.
I couldn’t take this anymore. I snatched up my phone and crossed my fingers, hoping he’d answer. It seemed to ring forever, but then- “Kelsey?” It took everything in me not to cry again. His voice sounded so shaky and frail. I took a deep breath to steady myself.
“Jack. I miss you.” My voice cracked on the last word. I could hear soft sobs, and that was enough to take me over the edge. “Kelsey.” He practically whispered my name, his voice hoarse from his cries. “I love you, babe. I love you.” “I love you too, Jack. I’m sorry. Can we meet up and talk? How about at our favorite park?” “Sounds good, babe. I’ll see you soon.”
<Jack>
God, I’ve missed her.
Just when I thought I couldn’t shed another tear, we were sobbing into each other’s arms as soon as we locked eyes. After some time, we practically staggered toward a nearby bench, but I couldn’t wait. I wrapped my arms around her waist, practically lifted her off the ground and lowered my lips to hers. The mix of tears and her familiar scent was enough to make my knees buckle. How I’d gone so long without kissing her was beyond me. I finally broke the kiss to rest my chin on the top of her head affectionately. I felt her body shiver from the increasing wind, and instinctively drew her in closer. I didn’t care if someone saw us, but I was grateful that we seemingly had the park to ourselves tonight. When we had reached the bench, she turned to me with a gaze that made me catch my breath. This woman positively had a handle on my heart.
I was on her like wildfire. My lips grazed her cheeks, her neck, her jawline… she let out the breathless sighs that I always loved. She let her head fall back on my shoulder, and I wrapped my left arm around her waist. My free hand wandered across her body as my lips lowered to meet hers. “Jack… someone will see us,” she murmured into my mouth. I smiled and raised my head, leaving our lips to touch ever so slightly. “Let them see.” No sooner had those words left my mouth that my hand slipped under the fabric that was denying me of her core.
She gasped, and I watched in satisfaction as she squirmed in delight. I gently prodded her knees apart further, and continued pleasuring her as I covered the rest of her with kisses. I was slow and steady, knowing it was maddening for her. My eyes never left hers as I grew faster and faster, until she reached her peak and just about collapsed into my arms. “How did you ever stay away?” I teased. She let out a shaky sigh and looked at me with a playful frustration. “You know my brain just turns off when you do that, Jack. Now I can’t remember anything I was going to say!” I drew her closer in response and kissed her forehead.
“I never should have left you alone like that, and I never will again. I don’t know how I stayed away either. But I can promise you, we are in this for the long haul- together. You and me, no matter what happens. I meant it when I said I loved you. I meant it when I asked you to spend the rest of your life with me. Nothing will ever change how I feel about you, Kelsey.”
I reached down and covered her face in light kisses, until I’d kissed every tear away. We didn’t realize it, but we stayed all night locked in an embrace, enjoying each other’s company. And what was more, my fingers remained at her core all night.
