i love this scene because look at them. gwen brought morgana flowers so she could cheer up. their friendship was so pure.

gwen was morgana’s main source of happiness - in other words, she was morgana’s anchor. gwen always stood by morgana’s side no matter what and morgana knew she could trust her. when morgana realized she lost gwen, that was her final breaking point. because gwen chose the enemy’s side, her best friend chose to side with the people who execute morgana’s kind. and that just devastated morgana.

You know what? I was always super mad at Morgana for the way she treated Gwen. I always said I could understand her going against Arthur and definitely why she hated Merlin, but her being mean to Gwen was unforgivable to me because Gwen never did anything. This made me look at it differently though.

I've changed the way I saw a lot of friends last year after the election we had in Brazil. There were people I really liked, people I respected and always saw as super kind, nice people. They still act the same, but once they support a government that clearly states lgbt, poc and foreign people are scum and not worthy of respect, I can't see them like kind and nice anymore. It's not enough to have a different opinion personally if you still support the power that oppresses people. I think I get Morgana's attitude towards Gwen a little better...

Morgana turned against Gwen first, though, and Gwen was never there for the persecution of magic users. Her own father was unjustly executed for magic! Not to mention it would have been hard for Gwen to stand up for Morgana's cause after she set her up and tried to have her burned at the stake. Their friendship broke down because Morgana treated her horribly after she returned and tried to have her killed. I get dropping friends because their values go wildly against your own, but the reason Gwen sided with Morgana's enemies is because Morgana pushed her there. She didn't give Gwen a chance or a choice and I hate so much what the writers did to their relationship and characters.
