I hate when people use doctor like that in tv/movies/books. In real life doctors give a name and people use it. If they forget it they just say thank you and move on. It takes no effort to give doctor characters a name. And if for whatever reason you can’t name them, there’s no need to say doctor. People aren’t that stupid. They know the person is a doctor. Just say thank you and move on.

It really sucks that the system doesn’t work the way it was supposed to. Prison was supposed to rehab criminals but of course because the prison system is run for profit it does no good to actually rehab criminals. No instead it gives prisoners false hope that they can turn their lives around, spits them out to the world unprepared, and makes sure they can’t actually survive/thrive without criminal acts, so that they end up right back in prison and the people running the prisons make more money.

I was rewatching Criminal Minds for the billionth time. In the episode where Reid is taken by Hankel, he has a flashback to when his dad left and his mom asked why he couldn’t take Spencer with him. Did we ever get a real answer to that? Cause that was fucked up.
I mean if I’m a parent that is leaving my relationship because my partner has become mentally unstable and is refusing to get help and I think it’s just too much, WHY THE FUCK WOULD I LEAVE MY CHILD IN THAT ENVIRONMENT?! If I can’t/don’t want to handle it, I damn sure don’t think my six (?) year old child can handle it.
And I get the whole he was struggling to accept that he burned her bloody clothes after she witnessed a murder, but what does that have to do with Spencer? Why didn’t he take him with him? Yes he was dealing with something traumatic but Diana wasn’t doing better than he was mentally. As a parent, one who is cognizant enough to recognize that I’m not doing completely okay and need a bit of help (whether I can get it or not), I am not leaving my child with someone that is in an even worse state mentally.
And before any apologists hit me with the “he said he didn’t know how to be a father anymore” that’s bullshit. If he needed to take some time to get himself together before coming back for Spencer, okay fine. I get that. BUT TO LEAVE HIM COMPLETELY WHEN HE KNEW DIANA WASN’T TAKING CARE OF HERSELF AND WAS ONLY GOING TO GET WORSE?! LEAVING HIS ACTUALLY STILL AN ADOLESCENT CHILD TO TAKE CARE OF HIS SCHIZOPHRENIC MOTHER?! Unacceptable.
