I need to apologize for my absence but I was struggling to finish my drafts. Ngl, I have almost 12 stories without a proper end I'm really trying to keep writing constantly but just when I gain a good rhythm, the creativity vanished.

Maybe it is writers block idk, but I'm still trying to write properly and to end what I have in my drafts. I really hope to keep posting a new story everyday as I did months ago.

So I'll keep working hard, putting my efforts to get put of that block and as Siwon says "no challenge no change" 😅

The piano music seemed to beat in time with your heart. The pianist's nimble fingers danced across the keys with such mastery that you found yourself humming along to the unfamiliar melody.

Your fingers drummed on the refined tablecloth covering the table while your mind wandered to one of the many fictional scenarios you liked to create when you simply needed to disconnect from everything around you.

In that new setting, your boyfriend would arrive —who, according to your friends' rumors, would soon become your fiancé— dressed impeccably in a sand-colored suit, a color that suited him very well. He would clearly be nervous —who wouldn't be when your plans include a marriage proposal?— but he would manage to hide it, you were sure of that.

He would order meat; there was no way he wouldn't order some kind of cut to complete the scene. When he was cutting a piece of his elegantly presented dish, his hand would 'accidentally' knock over the spoon that he clearly wasn't using to cut the food, and with a loud clang, it would attract the attention of the other diners as well as the pianist.

Things would unfold like a scene from any romantic novel you've ever read. The customers would gasp in surprise as your boyfriend bent down to pick up what he had just knocked to the floor, and the pianist would immediately change tempo to start playing your favorite song.

Then he would put one knee on the ground, pretending to lean on it to stand up, but unexpectedly he would turn toward you with his knee still on the ground, opening a small aquamarine velvet box—the typical Tiffany box—in front of your face and propose.

"I accept," whispered your lips, which you pressed together as soon as you realized that your fantasy had crept into your current reality.

Your cheeks flushed slightly, but you made sure to keep it under control. You mustn't let your mind dissociate like that again.

Your lips curved into a smile as you thought about how Yesung, your best friend, would be teasing you if only he could see you at that moment. You shook your head to dispel that thought; you didn't want to be thinking about anyone else now that you were about to take the next step in your relationship.

The lights dimmed and the pianist changed the melody to a more tense one, with strong nuances that dictated the new rhythm found by the artist. As if all that sudden change had been carefully planned, your boyfriend made his appearance and your heart fluttered with excitement.

"(Y/N), you look beautiful."

You couldn't help but smile at his comment and invited him to sit across from you at the table.

It had always been so easy to make you happy. All it took was a few kind words, small gestures that others would consider insignificant, and light conversation that showed the quality time you shared with your partner. Simple things for some, but they meant the world to you.

The waiter approached your table as soon as you sought his help with a glance, but then your boyfriend, the man sitting across from you, shook his head, and the waiter stopped short with the menu pressed against his chest and an apologetic smile crafted exclusively for you.

The pianist's blows on the keyboard increased the tension in the room as the lights flickered and the first raindrops hit the windowpanes next to you.

"Looks like the news was right, it's going to be bad weather today."

Your boyfriend nodded without saying a word.

Something didn't feel right there. It wasn't just the music, the lights, or the bad weather. There was something unusual about everything.

"Would you rather we go somewhere else?" you asked after a few seconds of silence. "We could go somewhere else before the storm hits the city."

"(Y/N)" Your name came out dry, without any hint of the affection that used to accompany it. "We need to talk."

"Then let's go somewhere else. Maybe the park across the street will give us a better atmosphere."

The way his gaze revealed his uncertainty, hidden beneath a layer of nervousness, made you think that maybe he wasn't ready to give you that ring yet. Maybe he needed a little push to cheer him up, maybe a sign to know that his proposal would be accepted and that he had nothing to fear.

"Let's get this over with."

You smiled as you blinked in confusion, tilting your head slightly as if seeing his face from another angle gave new meaning to his words.

The pianist quickened the pace of the music. It was as if his fingers were in the middle of a chase across the keyboard of the instrument that took up the small central stage of the restaurant.

"What?"

"I've been holding back too much," he said, like a complaint, a lament that seemed out of place to you.

"What?"

"This last year has been difficult," he admitted without looking up, unable to meet your gaze. "You're so… demanding. The expectations, all those signs that you want to get married…" He paused, as if it were difficult for him to continue his monologue. "I can't do it."

You blinked a couple more times, trying to process every word that came out of his mouth, every battered phrase that reached your heart before your brain.

"You've become impossible, stubborn, and completely different from the sweet woman I fell in love with seven years ago."

You tilted your head to the other side as if looking for another perspective from which to admire his speech.

Your neurons simply refused to make synapses.

That description of yourself did not fit with your self-perception. You shook your head a little to shake off that new illusion from your mind, as you used to do when your mind painted those impossible scenarios. This time, the fantasy had fallen into a disastrous scenario, but then he looked into your eyes and something inside you made an inaudible 'click' inside your head.

"I don't…"

You stopped your words as you noticed how your voice came out in an unfamiliar way, as if you were speaking through the throat of a stranger and not your own.

A tear rolled down your cheek and the storm raging outside caused the restaurant lights to go out completely, but the place was so well equipped that the engine of its own power plant began to roar above the notes of the piano.

Lightning flashed across the sky, making your heart flutter. You clasped your hands together on your lap, crumpling the fabric of your elegant dress as you felt panic and despair wash over you.

After the first tear came more, and you felt like the most pathetic and miserable person in the world.

"So it wasn't a marriage proposal?" you asked with an air of desperation that took you by surprise.

No, that wasn't what you wanted to ask, nor should you be crying, much less continue sitting there as if your butt had been glued to the restaurant chair.

Everything was a complete disaster, your world was falling apart, and the only thing keeping you from collapsing completely was the tight grip you had on the fabric of your dress.

"Marriage?" he scoffed. "Who could bear to marry you?" The outrageous laughter that followed his words caught everyone's attention.

Another bolt of lightning lit up the sky, and the thunder that preceded it caused gasps of surprise. It was a little too dramatic for his own taste.

"I thought that I… we…"

"It's over," he interrupted. "There is no 'us' anymore."

He stood up and began to walk with dignified steps toward the exit. His shoulders remained firm with each step, as if he hadn't just thrown away seven years of relationship, as if he hadn't just destroyed the heart of the person he had told "I love you" every day for seven years.

Your face sank into your hands as the piano played a depressing tune and your body shook involuntarily, bringing tears to your eyes with spasmodic movements.

The murmurs of the people around you reached your ears, with words like "poor thing" and "how cruel" echoing the impressions they had of you.

Your self-esteem was at rock bottom, keeping company with your pride and self-pity.

A waiter approached to offer you a box of tissues, and that act of compassion made you feel even more pathetic.

You rejected his kindness by shaking your head, took a deep breath, and then stood up, slamming both hands on the table to regain your composure and gather some confidence before leaving the establishment.

You could feel everyone's eyes on you, and you refused to look back. You needed to escape from there, you needed to breathe some fresh air.

Your legs carried you outside with faltering steps. You didn't care that the rain was falling on you, nor that the eyes inside were following your path outside. Nothing mattered anymore.

Once outside, you allowed yourself to moan in pain, letting out a cry from deep within your throat and grateful that the rain mixed with your tears so you wouldn't look even more pitiful. You tried to wash away your tears, struggling to put a smile back on your face so you could lift it up before returning home.

"(Y/N)!" The concern was evident in your best friend's call. You could recognize his melodious voice anywhere. "You forgot your umbrella again..."

Yesung ran hard, holding the umbrella with one hand, trying to keep his feet from slipping on the wet ground, but then he saw you. His eyes locked onto your face and you couldn't hold back any longer. His name left your lips like a prayer and you unconsciously threw yourself into his arms.

Yesung held you as best he could, pulling you toward him with the arm holding the umbrella and beginning to stroke your hair with his free hand as a way of comforting you.

The poor singer didn't understand any of what was happening.

Feeling your moans stop and your breathing slow down, he took advantage of your apparent stability to move away a little, just enough to take off his coat and place it over your shoulders to protect you from the cold.

"Let's go home," he murmured, wrapping his arm around your shoulders to keep you close to him. "You don't have to explain anything."

His words had the desired effect, comforting you with that small show of unquestionable trust. You allowed yourself to smile bitterly, clinging to that discreet show of understanding that Yesung was giving you.

The ride home was anything but quiet. The singer wouldn't let you wallow in your pain, filling every silence with a funny anecdote that barely managed to pull up one corner of your lips.

That was enough for him.

When you finally reached your apartment, as you both stood in the doorway, he finally opened his arms to pull you into his warm embrace. He said nothing as your body slowly shook to the rhythm of your sobs and moans.

When he guided you to your sofa to sit beside you, he listened attentively to every word you said, responding with nods without interrupting your complaints and curses.

He was there for you.

He stayed there for you.

Three months had passed, just over ninety days, and there you were standing while the wind blew the first raindrops falling from the sky against your legs.

Your hands clung to the translucent umbrella as you shifted your weight nervously from one foot to the other. It was the first time in seven years that you were going out with Yesung without your now ex-boyfriend present.

You took a deep breath, trying to calm your nerves, but that useless relaxation exercise didn't help at all.

"(Y/N)!" the idol shouted enthusiastically as soon as he saw you through the clear glass of the revolving doors.

You returned the greeting by raising your hand to wave it in the air. Your face beamed with happiness, without feeling guilty for not missing your former partner.

The weight of the breakup fell from your shoulders as soon as you started walking toward the idol. Each step put more distance between you and the sadness and resentment you had experienced for so many weeks.

You were radiant.

The curtain of rain in front of you seemed to be the stage curtain you were slowly crossing to face the audience waiting patiently for your appearance on stage.

You had never felt so liberated, so understood.

The sound of your footsteps intensified thanks to the puddles scattered across the ground, and just before you caught up with Yesung, a strong gust of wind pushed the umbrella backwards, causing the ribs to give way under the force of the gust and rendering it completely useless.

Your laughter echoed amid the noise of cars, strangers' conversations, and the rain hitting every exposed surface. The water showed no mercy and quickly soaked your clothes, but you couldn't stop smiling.

The scene was repeating itself, only this time the rain did not hide your emotions, but made them more real. The overflowing joy did not succumb to the bad weather, but rather overcame it.

The singer's arms wrapped around you in camaraderie, and for the first time in so many years of friendship, your heart fluttered at the soft touch of his fingers on the exposed skin of your shoulders.

You instinctively flinched, and he noticed the slight change. His first reaction was to take off his coat and give it to you in a gesture of complete gallantry.

"Have you always worn this perfume?" you asked as soon as its scent reached you.

The singer laughed heartily as his eyes scanned your face, understanding what was happening. To say he was pleased was one way of putting his emotions into words.

"There's still a lot to discover, don't you think?"

You nodded as he took your hand to guide you to one of his cafes.

That small gesture now meant something completely new. It was the opening of a new door. The beginning of something that promised to be very exciting.

Tender distraction

The car's tires stopped spinning at that frantic pace as the idol maneuvered the steering wheel to pull into the parking space. The view of the shopping plaza, even though you were seeing it from inside a moving car, already foreshadowed what was about to happen.

The sun bathed every exposed surface in its rays, and the warm wind caressed your skin with delight as the balladeer held your hand to help you out of the car. He might have been a bit of a tease, but he was no less chivalrous for it.

Your eyes lingered slightly on the shopping center, admiring the contrast between the light color of the exterior and the explosion of colors from the different stores displaying their products. It's incredible that the day has finally come, today you'll going to enter a store that only people with babies seem interested in going into.

Excitedly, you picked up your bag and slung it over your shoulder, absentmindedly holding the idol's hand as if it were the only thing keeping you grounded. Your eyes sparkled in a way that Kyuhyun had learned to treasure, while a broad smile spread across your face.

"We're only here for the gift," the singer reminded you, intertwining his fingers with yours. The warning not to divert your attention to the other items was implicit in his words. "We agreed it would only be a blanket."

"And a plushie if there's something cute in there," you added, squeezing his hand lightly, a gesture so tender that it still managed to make the balladeer's heart race.

Kyuhyun rolled his eyes, but the slight half-smile that lifted one corner of his lips betrayed his unmistakable amusement. Beneath all that sarcasm and complaining lay the unspoken enjoyment of shopping with you.

"They're going to be girls. Twins. The first nieces we'll ever have, and we can't act like a couple of cheapskates right now."

"They're not my daughters," he argues, shrugging his shoulders.

"Don't be a killjoy," you say as you take both his hands to lead him inside the store before he thinks about going home. "You'll see, soon you'll want to buy the whole store for the twins, and obviously I won't stop you."

With an almost practiced movement, he releases your hand so he can put his arm around your shoulders, pulling you a little closer to him and planting a kiss on your temple as your excitement grows.

"If the salesperson were half as enthusiastic as you are, they would have sold every item in the display case by now."

Your laughter echoes down the aisle as you rest your head against his shoulder. You're not sure if it's the anticipation bubbling in your chest or the butterflies fluttering in your stomach from his words, but your enthusiasm seems to have doubled during the entire journey from home to the store.

Soon you find yourself surrounded by baby clothes in various light colors, and not only that, but there are shoes, blankets, stuffed animals, cute bows… a whole unexplored world of tiny items designed to be used by babies.

Your hands brush against the cotton fabric of a romper, and you can't help but let out a gasp of adoration. It's cute, too cute.

"We haven't even been in the store for five minutes," Kyuhyun laughs with that light, teasing sound as he reaches for your hand to redirect you toward the crib accessories section. "I remind you that we said it would only be blankets."

You shake your head as you point to what looks like a basket full of stuffed animals. You can make out various animal shapes, each one cuter than the last, and your heart slowly melts as you get closer to the spot. You can't believe Kyuhyun can remain so stoic about buying blankets when there's a whole display of tiny colorful T-shirts in front of him.

As you stroke a series of baby socks, the singer's gaze rests on you and your tender smile as you press the cotton fabric against your cheek. Anyone would think that you were the one who was going to have babies, not his sister.

It was inevitable that the idol would start thinking about how curious it would be to plan that afternoon of shopping if you two were the parents. That thought was, for the moment, too dangerous to dwell on.

With an understanding smile, the balladeer approached you, taking you by the shoulders to slowly push you toward the area with blankets and crib accessories.

He knew something like this could happen, but he didn't expect to feel such sweetness admiring you as you lost yourself among light colors and delicate lace as soon as you entered the girls' section.

Kyuhyun could have sworn you were trying not to scream with excitement as soon as your hands held a wooden rattle shaped like a kitten. He clearly saw how you held your breath, how your eyes widened, and how you pressed your lips together to keep from letting out that terrible squeal of excitement.

"Put that down before they call security saying that a crazy woman won't return a baby rattle," he joked, taking you by the arm and pulling you along to continue walking.

By the time his footsteps led you to the bedding, your pupils dilated, giving your eyes that sparkle that the singer loved so much. If his heart skipped a beat when he saw your joyful face, he would never admit it, nor would he talk about his own smile that could match yours.

"Look at that beautiful blanket," you sang, taking the fabric in your hands as if it were made of the finest crystal.

Your fingers felt the fine, soft fabric and your nose sank into the light scent of baby perfume coming from it. Immediately, the room lit up with your smile, at least that's how Kyuhyun and the employee who approached to offer you information about the blankets saw it.

"This is our new collection," said the sales assistant in a soft, charming voice. "It consists of the outer sheet, a thicker blanket for cold temperatures, and if you buy the complete set, we're giving away a knitted hat for winter."

What ultimately convinced Kyuhyun to buy it was not the promise of a free product, nor hearing about the benefits of the hypoallergenic natural fiber fabric, but rather the sparkle in your eyes and the way your fingers curled around the edge of the blanket in a gesture of pure possessiveness.

You would be his downfall. He knew from the start that he shouldn't have invited you to that place. He was already beginning to regret taking you with him, even though he was smiling like the silliest man in the store.

"And here we have this matching set of gloves and thermal socks…"

"I'll take it," you quickly said, handing your card to the saleswoman. "I need two sets for the twins."

"Congratulations, it looks like those two little ones will come into the world with a pair of loving parents."

Kyuhyun opened his mouth to protest and clarify things, but you shook your head and he smiled understandingly. You didn't want to ruin the moment by arguing about a false motherhood; there was no need to clarify anything.

"Do you also have those diaper pants? They're so cute that I couldn't leave without getting some for them."

The girl behind the cash register smiled as she carefully packed each item into paper bags bearing the brand name in gold lettering.

The idol took each bag with incredible care and followed closely behind the employee, who was heading straight for the items you had requested, but was currently telling you about the wonderful benefits of some new baby bottles and training cups.

When she mentioned that the bottles included teethers to relieve the itchiness of the first teeth, Kyuhyun began to see his fate tinged with more unnecessary expenses, but you were smiling, and he wasn't a heartless monster who would tell you that he wouldn't buy any more things.

Little by little, the idol's hands filled with bags and your arms wrapped around a couple of boxes before you two finished your shopping trip. Your radiant smile reflected the contained pleasure of having bought everything you wanted, although Kyuhyun could already feel his fingers going numb after holding so many bags.

"The twins will be happy when they see what we bought," you said as you loaded the boxes and bags into the singer's car, arranging everything with great care so as not to damage anything.

"We buy it?" asked the singer, raising an eyebrow with obvious amusement. After all, you had decided what to give as a gift. To say that he had any say in the decision would be a blatant lie. "I just saw you spending every penny of my monthly income," he joked, holding the passenger door open to let you into the car.

"But you bought something too."

Kyuhyun's eyes widened when he heard that statement. His hands gripped the steering wheel as you fastened your seatbelt so you could leave the parking lot.

A slight reddish color tinged his cheeks as he tried to concentrate on maneuvering his way out of there.

"Did you think I hadn't noticed?" you sang with a mischievous smile.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"A pair of shoes…"

The sound of the horn interrupted your words, and you finally let out an amused laugh. You had never seen the idol so nervous and embarrassed.

"They were cute," you admitted, "although I would have preferred you to buy two pairs so as not to show favoritism."

"They're not for the twins," he confessed, unable to look at you, afraid of what he would see in your eyes when you heard what he had to say next. "I bought them just in case we… someday… you know."

"Become parents?" you asked, with the same naturalness with which he wanted to talk about the subject. "They'll be their favorites, I'm sure."

Your hand closed around the singer's, which was still clinging to the steering wheel. Your touch was a gesture that said more than any words could complement your actions.

You were there with him, waiting. Living each stage, taking each step. One at a time.

Synopsis: A normal day of cleaning with Kyuhyun will turn into the cutest battle any of you have ever witnessed.

Soft battle

The scent of fabric softener lingered throughout every corner of the shared room. A few beads of fabric freshener still dotted the floor at the entrance to the laundry room, evidence that someone had been using the entire cleaning arsenal.

Seeing the room bathed in sunlight streaming in through the window, with tiny specks of dust intercepting the rays as they floated in front of the glass, was satisfying. All those hours spent on washing and drying cycles had been worth it.

The plushie animals Kyuhyun had given you at the end of his world tour were gleaming on your shelf while the singer spent his time cleaning the furniture in the small room where both usually spent your time watching movies and TV shows.

The cleaning day was proving productive. Productive and exhausting. You couldn't ignore the tiredness in your muscles after having to go back and forth with the dirty clothes and then with the same things once they were clean.

The machines could wash everything but couldn't put it away in its proper place.

Taking a short break, you sat down on the mattress, allowing your shoulders to slump slightly. You needed that comfort to relax for a moment; after all, it would only be five minutes.

You closed your eyes and leaned back, expecting the bed to welcome you onto its soft surface, but before your head touched the mattress, a freshly washed pillow hit you in the face. It didn't hurt, but the surprise gradually turned your passivity into annoyance.

"Were you taking a break while I continued cleaning?" Kyuhyun asked, laughing as he watched the pillow hit you in the most comical way possible. His playful facade contrasted sharply with the tone of feigned offense he adopted.

"I haven't been sitting here for two minutes!" you protested, throwing the pillow back at him.

The idol dodged your attack by pure reflex while continuing to smile, which now began to seem even more defiant. You reached out to grab another pillow and threw it at him, this time with greater force and accuracy.

The soft, fluffy object hit him on the head, and he protested dramatically and loudly, as if you had hit him with a rock and not a pillow. His amused gaze immediately fell on the other three pillows still on the mattress, and as if he had suddenly gone back in time to when all he had to worry about was going to school and having fun, he picked up the two pillows from the floor to fight you.

Both were armed. He was at a clear disadvantage, since after all he only had one pillow to use as a weapon and another to serve as a shield.

"I have more weapons, Kyuhyun, give up," you said, holding a pillow in each hand.

"But do you know what you don't have?" he murmured, playing along, almost managing to portray you as the best warrior in that deadly battle, "an army."

Your face went from amusement to surprise as soon as he began to grab the stuffed animals you had arranged on the shelves and throw them at you, accompanying each movement with a fake evil laugh that made you smile in the midst of the attack.

You let out a scream as the stuffed animals hit the pillows you still had in your hands and a few more managed to hit your head at awkward angles.

It was like being ambushed when you thought you had already won the battle. Taking advantage of your position on the bed, your hand clung to the blankets and ―with the skill of someone accustomed to tidying the room every day, you lifted them as if they were a protective barrier, wrapping yourself in the white, fluffy blanket.

Feeling at a disadvantage, the vocalist approached the mattress to pounce on you. The laughter that shook your body echoed throughout the room as Kyuhyun tried to tickle you despite not being able to see your exact position inside that cotton cocoon.

Your body writhed beneath the sheets as you struggled to defend yourself from the attack, to breathe beneath the thick fabric, and to stifle your muffled laughter, which fluctuated between moans and squeals, in order to rid yourself of the weight Kyuhyun was imposing on you.

"I give up!" you shouted, hoping that would end the battle once and for all.

His hands stopped tickling you and he finally stood up to let you out of the cocoon you had created with the sheets. Your face was flushed from the lack of air and the heat, your tousled hair stuck to your forehead, and amid the mess, your smile beamed with amusement.

"Then I won," he declared, raising his arms in victory before collapsing onto the mattress. "Now I think I deserve the first-place prize."

You quickly sat up on the bed, suddenly interested in the reward. Moving a little closer to the idol to lie down next to him again, you watched his face closely as Kyuhyun kept his eyes closed and wore a triumphant smile that reached his eyes.

"Was there a prize?" you asked incredulously, waiting patiently for him to tell you what it was, although knowing him well, it could be a stuffed animal or just a piece of candy. "If I had known, my energy would have doubled and I would have been more consistent in the battle."

Contrary to any guesses you might have had, the singer bowed his head and stole a kiss from you, thus claiming his 'first place prize.'

"It was worth defeating you in this battle," he sighed dramatically.

"What if I had won?"

"Then I would have been forced to give you the prize," he laughed at your reaction, "it's a fair prize no matter how you look at it."

You laughed amusedly, resting your cheek against the singer's chest, allowing yourself to enjoy his company, his slow breathing, and above all, the rhythmic beating of his heart despite having been involved in that velvety combat.

Your fingers moved across the phone screen as you searched for reviews and critiques of the first episodes of "Be Young, Be in Love." What you read added more weight to your shoulders.

The opinions varied, but they all agreed on one thing: the bar was set very high for the two of you.

The original couple, a pair of young actors, had shown their life as a domestic couple. They both cooked, spent time on the couch, played board games… everything seemed too cute and romantic between them.

The second couple, two Olympic athletes, showed their coexistence as two ordinary people going shopping and to an amusement park.

Both dates seemed interesting, both showed the sweet and tender side of two different relationships, and Eunhyuk and you couldn't present yourselves as another lovey-dovey couple in front of the audience, not when you had already had six hours of kisses, caresses, and sappy words with the broadcasted show.

"Hyuk," you said, repeatedly tapping the leg of the dancer who was resting next to you on the sofa, "I think I know what we could do," you whispered without taking your eyes off your phone screen.

You couldn't repeat the dynamics, no with a member of Super Junior involved in a variety show. The group always stood out for its dynamism, for the laughter it provoked, and above all, for the surprise factor in its television appearances.

There was a legacy to respect and defend.

Eunhyuk's eyebrow rose questioningly, letting the silence give you a short pause to continue your explanation.

Holding your phone with the fingers of one hand, you turned the screen to show him an article discussing all kinds of date ideas.

"You want to go on a date that includes coffee tasting?" he asked incredulously. "What is this? Am I dating Yesung?"

His comment made you frown in confusion before turning your gaze to the smartphone screen you were holding in front of him. To your surprise, the article had scrolled down, hiding what you really wanted to show him.

"I'm not talking about that," you laughed, revealing your real plan this time. "I was saying we should try a date with extreme sports or at least that kind of competitive activity."

Eunhyuk's eyes moved across the article, looking at the pictures and analyzing how good an idea it might be to do all those activities with you.

Eunhyuk drummed his fingers on the armrest of the chair before nodding in agreement. The idea wasn't bad, you just had to change the paragliding jump and get rid of the hang gliding.

"I'll call production to meet us at the go-kart track. I think it'll be fun."

He meant it; he could perfectly imagine the kind of reactions you might have, he could even hear your laughter ringing in his ears.

Inside the singer's car, both believed you had everything you'll need to spend the day jumping from activity to activity. You two had planned the perfect route to save time and be able to do each activity without missing anything along the way.

When the singer's car pulled into the parking lot with the race cars lined up against a guardrail, your heart began to race.

You liked that kind of thing, you used to do it with family and friends, but there, with the cameras and the audience eager to capture every moment of that gathering, the situation seemed more tense and overwhelming than you had imagined.

The dancer looked at you over the roof of the car and a smile appeared on his lips when he noticed your sudden stillness. You weren't like that, you should be happy, you should run and quickly grab the helmet in your favorite color before he took it just to annoy you.

Walking around the car, Eunhyuk took your hand and intertwined his fingers with yours before giving it a gentle squeeze to reassure you.

His presence by your side was calming; he could almost convince you that everything would be fine, that there was nothing to worry about.

"(Y/N), it's just about having fun," he raised your hand to his lips and placed a tender kiss on the back of it, "just relax and let's pretend it's a normal date and that it won't be recorded and broadcast on television."

"You don't know how much relief your words give me," you replied ironically, shaking your hand free of his grip before heading toward the person in charge of the venue.

You didn't need anyone to explain how it all worked, but you still had to listen to the instructions to please the program director and the team of cameramen who were moving around to get different angles of the start of your date.

Carefully, the singer fastened the helmet under your chin, adjusting your hair so it wouldn't get in your field of vision. It all seemed staged, but you knew firsthand that it wasn't, that Eunhyuk was instinctively taking care of you, as if it were second nature to him.

Your car and the idol's were at the starting line, engines roaring and the crowd cheering before the race even began. The checkered flag waved in the air and you both stepped on the gas, kicking off the competition.

Your comments and those of the idol were sharp, but always tinged with affection and tenderness despite all the teasing and complaints. After the first lap, the teasing turned into compliments about how well you took some of the turns.

You burst out laughing when your car accidentally skidded in the middle of the last lap, causing you to crash into some discarded tires and bales of straw that cushioned the impact.

You sighed in defeat and took off your helmet, dramatically releasing your hair and eliciting several favorable reactions from the audience and the recording crew.

Eunhyuk celebrated his victory, running towards you to lift you up in his arms before planting a kiss on your lips, one as fleeting and light as the touch of a feather.

Everything was recorded, every laugh was documented, and every word exchanged was captured by the cameras and microphones attached to the collars of your clothes.

The next stop was the bowling alley.

A waxed lane so noisy that you couldn't even hear your own thoughts. The impact of the ball against the bowling pins was a symphony that drowned out the shouts and celebratory dancing.

Neon lights illuminated everywhere, and sparkling strips of LED lights marked the path of each lane. It was a visual and auditory spectacle contained within that popular recreational establishment.

Your hand was intertwined with the idol's one, your steps were naturally in sync, and the smiles on your faces betrayed how eager you were to start the game.

Once again, the person in charge of explaining the rules of the game arrived, but your first shots were a complete disaster, not because you didn't understand how a ball slides across the floor, but because of the weight of the ball being held in just one of your hands.

In an attempt at a romantic public display, the dancer stood behind you, holding the ball with you, guiding you step by step until you finally managed to hit a pin with one of your many wasted shots.

Victory was almost assured for the dancer, but no one counted on beginner's luck. Your previously mechanical movements now showed the grace and ease of someone who makes bowling duels their modus vivendi.

Blow after blow provoked laughter, shouts, and arguments, all wrapped up in that romantic and friendly atmosphere that the two of you managed to establish so naturally.

"If I miss, you'll cook tonight," you bet out of the blue, driven by the idol's good humor and contagious laughter.

Eunhyuk smiled warmly accepting the challenge while everyone on staff seemed amazed by what was happening around them, by how you both engaged in this competitive banter despite gazing lovingly at each other.

With the ball in your hand, you took a series of steps backward, observing your target with determination. You inhaled and exhaled deeply, feeling the air pass between your lips, your fingers instinctively clinging to the grooves on the surface of the orb; then you took three steps, leaned toward your skilled hand, and before you could release the ball Eunhyuk's arms grabbed you around the waist.

A sharp cry escaped your mouth, you closed your eyes and your feet left the ground as the idol spun you around with the strength of his grip. He was happy, he knew he was defeated this time, but now he wanted to hold you in his arms more than ever.

The ball ended up immediately in the right lane of your track, passing straight by all the bowling pins.

The warmth of the moment made you laugh as you tried to hide your face in your hands so as not to reveal the crimson color you felt rising up your neck.

"That's all" murmured someone from the staff as they signaled to some cameramen to give you two a little space, a moment without them present but with the backup cameras that would not interfere with the tender exchange.

The afternoon was progressing, and the team that had been following you during the various planned activities was satisfied with the footage they had obtained. They had enough material to fill the three hours of programming that would be shown during the three weekly broadcasts.

The date both of you were having would really delight ELF and regular viewers. The couple's dynamic was fun, your displays of affection were sweet, and the competitiveness kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

The ratings were expected to be high when the content was aired.

The singer's car wound its way up a somewhat steep hill, signaling their approach to the last place both planned to visit. The wind that managed to sneak in through the rear windows ruffled your hair and cooled the interior.

"Don't you feel like we're going too far?" you asked, fidgeting with your fingers in an obvious sign of nervousness.

The singer's hand rested on yours to calm you down a little, to remind you that you were both in this together.

"It was either this or hang gliding," he shrugged without taking his eyes off the road, trying not to forget that there was a camera inside the car to document everything.

"I hate to admit it," you murmured, caressing the dancer's hand, which offered you some comfort, "but this is a little… intimidating."

The sign announcing the arrival at the bungee jumping site appeared in the distance, as if welcoming you to a menacing place with hundreds of 'caution' tapes guarding the road.

"We'll do it together."

With that statement and the act of bringing your knuckles to his lips, your negative thoughts dissipated and a sudden surge of courage filled you.

The line for the almost–deadly game wasn't long; in fact, there were only three people ahead of you, waiting patiently for their turn.

The singer's arm wrapped around your waist, keeping you safe by his side, his thumb tracing circles on the fabric of your clothing absentmindedly. His expressions showed nervousness even though he tried to hide it, and he was certainly handling it much better than you were.

The long-awaited moment arrived, and your heart was the first to react, pumping blood at breakneck speed. Each beat echoed in your ears, and your breathing caused your chest to rise and fall at a pace that didn't seem normal.

The instructors were there explaining what you had to do step by step, describing the sensations, putting into words the actions to take before and after the jump, but your mind was focused on ignoring it all so that fear would not take hold of you.

A cold sweat ran down your back as the staff attached the harnesses all over your body, and your palms sweated against the fabric of your pants.

"This looks fun," murmured the singer, looking down from his privileged position at the edge of the diving platform.

"That's not exactly the word I would use, but okay," you whispered with a trembling voice.

Your arms wrapped around the idol's waist, seeking his protection, seeking something to hold on to so you could keep your legs steady on the platform.

The countdown began, and you could have sworn your soul was leaving your body. If it weren't for Eunhyuk's arm holding you steady on the ground, your legs would have given way under the nervousness of the moment.

"And one!" shouted the instructor cheerfully, and his coworker, in an act of cruelty, pushed both of you straight into the void.

The wind prevented you from opening your eyes, and Eunhyuk's arms gave you some security as you experienced the worst moment of your life.

Just as you risked opening your eyes slightly, the rope tightened, causing you to bounce back up, rising and then falling again at a pace as fast as your heartbeat.

Tears streamed from your eyes in a mixture of joy at being alive, fear at what had happened, and the adrenaline rush of having made it.

As you loosened your grip on Eunhyuk's waist to wipe away your tears, he couldn't resist placing a kiss on your temple. The gesture was full of affection, and the look in his eyes showed the kind of love he had for you.

Without a doubt, that jump would be the cherry on top for the program that had given ypu the most dynamic date of your lives.

The singer's heart stopped beating for a fraction of a second and his hands clung to the handle of his suitcase as if it were the only thing keeping him anchored to the ground.

If he had been talking to you at any point, it was now forgotten; at that moment, he had fallen completely silent. His lips were sealed and the air threatened to escape from his lungs.

"This must be a joke," he said, trying to convince himself that this couldn't be happening.

Although spacious, the room had only one bed. A single mattress on which two people who had never been this close before would have to rest.

"This doesn't seem like a joke, Leeteuk. I think they made a mistake with the reservation."

His words had the same effect as a physical blow. That statement had fallen like a bucket of cold water on the idol's body.

"If you want, I can sleep on the sofa," he said, unconvinced. "It looks comfortable."

"I don't know. If you don't feel comfortable there, you can always wake me up and I'll let you sleep in the bed."

Leeteuk nodded, hoping he wouldn't need to ask for that favor.

The preparations for bedtime were uncomfortable, completely normal but with that feeling of strangeness due to the inevitable experience that lay ahead.

You were going to have Leeteuk –your friend and companion– lying on the couch across the room. It wasn't a comfortable place, but rather a seat with a backrest that threatened to make resting on it a painful experience.

The shower helped you relax a little and rethink all the possible solutions, but unfortunately winter was not the best season to spread a sheet on the floor if your goal was to sleep on it.

Your body was completely exhausted after the trip, crying out for some rest as soon as you sat down on the couch waiting for Leeteuk to finish showering.

In reality, both of you were stretching out the time as long as possible before having to go to your respective places to sleep.

While your mind continued to work, searching for a solution to the problem, exhaustion suddenly hit you, sending you to sleep on the sofa. That's how the idol found you as soon as he finished cleaning up.

Your head rested on your hand, your elbow rested on the armrest of the sofa, and your body remained completely limp against the couch. You were adorable, he decided, pausing just a little longer to observe you closely.

He couldn't leave you there in that uncomfortable position, especially since you both had to host the awards ceremony the next day. What if you caught a cold or injured a muscle in the arm that was supporting your weight?

Feeling it was his duty to take care of you, he followed the little impulse in his mind and decided to carry you in his arms from the sofa to the mattress. Soon your arms were around his neck, forcing him to lie down next to you in the same space.

Leeteuk didn't want to wake you up or make the room uncomfortable, but you were technically clinging to his neck like a koala climbing a tree.

The singer tried to free himself, wriggling slightly to break free from your embrace, but without success.

"It's cold," you mumbled in your sleepiness, and he could do nothing but sigh and let you rest your head on his arm.

The warmth of your body was comforting, and the relaxation he had achieved from his pre-bedtime shower was lulling him to sleep.

"I should go to the couch," Leeteuk whispered softly, opening his eyes.

"See you tomorrow," you managed to articulate in your sleep.

The idol and you fell fast asleep in each other's arms. What a surprise awaited you when both woke up and realized what had happened! But for now, as the two lay comfortably sharing the bed, nothing could concern you less.

HEECHUL

Laughter echoed throughout the room as the variety show staff recorded the challenge you two had to complete for losing the game inside the shared house.

Three-legged Twister seemed like fun until one of your legs and idol's one were tied together and your arms suffered the same fate.

The team's collapse was inevitable. It was matter of time.

The blue ball both had to pull out of the fish tank revealed the awkward moment you had to endure:

"Sleeping in a bed."

"Almost is not in the floor," Heechul muttered with a nervous laugh.

Deep down, you thought the production wouldn't allow that, simply because two celebrities shouldn't cause that kind of scandal.

The meal passed amid laughter and mocking glances whenever the punishment was mentioned. The jokes never stopped, nor did the discreet questioning looks from your colleagues and the production team.

At some point, the two of you sat down to discuss what you would do if that really happened, but your characters in the production weren't the shy type, so it would be illogical for you both to feel uncomfortable around each other.

"Oh, come on, they're not really going to force us. Maybe the first few shots will have to be done, but I bet they'll bring at least one more mattress," you smiled as if repeating that lie would magically make it come true.

"It's Producer Na. He once made Donghae get into a tub of cold water while wearing a suit. Do you really think they'll give us another mattress?" Heechul laughed incredulously.

The truth about the punishment would be revealed later, when the nighttime chats came to an end one by one and the rest of the cast began to gradually leave, each leaving their small contribution to the punishment of both of you, commenting on nonsense to increase the tension between the idol and you.

The house was dark, the only source of light coming from the lamps installed in the recording cameras to capture anything that happened.

"So, should we go now?" you whispered quietly so as not to make too much noise.

"I think so."

The discomfort was palpable; the previously lively atmosphere of laughter and conversation had been replaced by a deathly silence.

Your barefoot footsteps echoed inside the house, and you could swear that your heartbeat was making an even louder sound.

"What if I stay on the couch?" asked Heechul, trying to make you feel a little safer around him.

"The production team will object and the punishment could be even worse," you whispered in response, causing the production team to stifle their laughter.

With a trembling hand, you grasped the doorknob and opened the room. Your eyes scanned everywhere except the single bed that stood in the middle of the already tiny space.

With steady but slow steps, you approached the edge of the mattress and sat down, letting Heechul decide what to do next.

The singer watched you, and in the darkness he could clearly see the sparkle in your eyes and the way you bit the inside of your cheek because you were nervous.

"If you want, you can use the blankets, and I'll sleep like this. I don't need them," he said, offering you a little comfort.

Heechul took the blanket and covered your shoulders with it, waiting patiently for you to decide to take half of the mattress.

Contrary to expectations, you fell asleep shortly after lying down with your back to the idol.

Heechul remained lying on his back, motionless, with his arms practically crossed over his chest to keep warm, but in the middle of the night you covered him with the sheets, ready to share a little of that space.

You never knew who turned over first, or who lay down in the other's arms, but at dawn your arms were around his body and his legs had caught yours.

YESUNG

The visit to the Hanok village had coincided with a terrible typhoon. The team had some good shots and the singer still had to record the audio that would accompany the tour, but most of the camera work was done.

All that remained was for you to edit the content and for Yesung to record the voiceover so it could be superimposed on the recording.

But the weather had changed so suddenly that everyone had to pack up the recording equipment for that episode of Yessay and take shelter in one of the small houses that a resident had offered you as lodging.

The space was large, after all it was a Hanok, but it was occupied; it was a lived-in house and everyone in the team could only use one room.

There was nothing else to do; you couldn't venture out to look for a hotel in the middle of bad weather, unsure whether you would find a better place or perhaps a worse one.

The team was large, at least five people were in the room passing the time before taking their places on the mattresses that the kind woman had laid out for everyone.

"You guys sleep," you said without even approaching the room you would have to share with your teammates. "I still have to edit the video, I'll take advantage of the silence to work."

You didn't want to lie down there, among your coworkers. It was simply something you couldn't do.

You grabbed the computer you used to edit videos and started working to keep yourself busy with something else.

The tapping of your fingers on the computer keys kept the idol awake, who had no choice but to stand up and sit down next to you.

"Can't you rest?" you whispered, moving to one side to put a little more distance between you.

"It's a habit," he replied, fumbling for one of the tumbler where he had brought some coffee to drink a sip. "Would you like some?" he offered kindly.

You nodded without hesitation, thinking that a little caffeine would surely keep you awake.

The effect was completely different.

The heat of that bitter drink began to invade your body, making you feel relaxed, then came the yawns, one after another.

"I'll start practicing the script for the video," Yesung said, feeling that the silence was becoming a little uncomfortable.

The rhythm of the keys slowly slowed down, as did your concentration. The warmth of the coffee and the faint murmur of the singer practicing the script seemed to invite you to sleep as soon as possible.

Your eyelids felt heavy, and you inevitably succumbed to exhaustion. Yesung was quick enough to prevent the laptop from falling to the floor, but as soon as he placed the closed device beside him, your head fell onto his shoulder.

Watching you sleep, feeling the warmth emanating from your body and listening to the rain outside, the singer began to fall asleep. The only thing he could do to prevent both of you from falling to the floor was to wrap his arm around your shoulders and rest his head against yours before falling into a deep sleep.

SHINDONG

It was supposed to be an exciting trip to shoot nighttime footage with the new camera he had received.

Samsung was going to sponsor the video, and a day of camping had been proposed to highlight the nighttime and outdoor capabilities of the lens on the new video recording equipment.

The adventure had gotten off to a wonderful start, until problems slowly began to arise.

The first assistant had gotten lost on the way with one of the cameras, and the girl who was supposed to help set up the tents had sprained her ankle. Shindong and you were taking turns serving as her crutch while the area was being deflated.

"At least the video will be entertaining," the idol commented as soon as it was his turn to support his staff.

You, on the other hand, continued filming the feat. Your legs moved deftly, as did your hands; you had to frame everything to get a relatable but entertaining story.

You let Shindong talk to the camera as if you weren't there, and when the conversation with himself became boring, you would intervene with a witty comment to reactivate his good humor in front of the lens.

"It looks like the sky will soon cloud over and we'll be able to test the rain recording functions," you reported as you carefully focused on the sky.

"With the luck we've had, one of us could slip on the leaves and break our neck," Shindong commented, making sure the camping expert didn't suffer any other mishaps.

You hesitated and mentally decided that this brief conversation should remain intact during editing to serve as irrefutable proof that the journey to the campsite in the forest had been anything but relaxing.

The platforms on which the tents were allowed to be pitched were slightly separated so that three tents could be set up, but there were only two because of the missing member.

"Our expert seems to have made a beginner's mistake," announced the singer, smiling despite the approaching bad weather. "It looks like my cameraman and I will have to pitch the tent ourselves."

Your eyes widened in surprise at his statement without consulting you first.

"And why should I?" you grumbled irritably.

"Because the disabled girl needs a place to sleep."

She gave you a smile that clearly asked for your understanding, and you just nodded as you set up the camera on its tripod so you could help with the task.

The wind began to blow, and the leaves rose along with the dust that threatened to get into your eyes. The task became increasingly difficult as the bad weather settled over the three of you.

Shindong, seeing that you had more problems than he did, decided to come to your aid. After all, it was better to work as a team than to build the houses separately.

At different moments, your hands brushed against each other, your fingers intertwined, or your bodies collided, but that did not distract you from your main objective.

The shots were good, and the witty reactions and comments would definitely provide plenty of material for the sponsored video.

When the expert's campaign tent was assembled, you both looked at its tiny size in disbelief. There was no way two people could rest inside it.

With the woman injured, there was no choice but to share the tent with Shindong, as well as the mat where you would both have to rest.

After dinner and some nighttime exploration and observation activities, everyone went their separate ways to your respective posts.

You were grateful that the camera had remained outside and couldn't record all the reactions and gestures you expressed with your face in response to the discomfort you were experiencing.

You had been working with the idol for several years, staying at his house during the grueling editing sessions for his studio videos and those for his YouTube channel, but it had never crossed your mind to share the same bed.

That was a different story, and although Shindong tried to appear indifferent, the truth was that during all that time you two hadn't exchanged a single word and he hadn't even looked at you once, as if your presence were imperceptible.

"Hey, we could…" Your hand touched his shoulder and the singer jumped slightly, an almost imperceptible flinch, but one that you clearly noticed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

Shindong shook his head and waved his hand to downplay the act, but how could he downplay it when he was being hyperconscious? He felt quite awkward at that moment, and the remnants of his relaxed and jovial attitude were disappearing.

"As I was saying," you continued, taking one of the inflatable pillows to place it on your lap, "we could put up a barrier of pillows so this isn't uncomfortable."

The singer nodded in relief, agreeing to your plan, but when bedtime came and the inside light was turned off, you both fell asleep from exhaustion.

Maybe you were the first to mistake the idol's body for a pillow, but your leg was on top of the idol's legs and your arm was wrapped around him as if he were a stuffed animal.

The moon seemed to be showing its best face of the year. The silvery light shone around it like a halo illuminating the streets where people walked too hurriedly to stop and contemplate the landscape.

The sky was clear, devoid of any clouds that could stain the perfect astronomical map that the stars drew in the firmament.

A gust of wind blew, ruffling your hair and making you jump, prompting you to wrap yourself up in the black coat you had decided to wear given the autumn season.

Instinctively, Leeteuk's arm wrapped around your shoulders to pull you closer to him, as if staying closer would prevent the wind from continuing to do its thing.

You smiled and rested your head on his shoulder, continuing to walk at the calm and peaceful pace with which he was guiding you through the streets of Seoul.

Your gloved hand found its place between the singer's fingers, allowing them to intertwine while you held the corn–dog you had been savoring with your other hand.

"Would you like some?" you asked, placing the food in front of him.

Leeteuk leaned forward and took a bite, just a small bite to satisfy his curiosity.

That brief exchange made you laugh, feeling that the early season night was simply perfect.

The wind blew down the avenue, hitting them both with the force of its speed; your hair waved in its direction and rhythm, the idol's laughter became audible as he tried to tuck each strand of hair into place, running his slender fingers through it to comb it.

The task was simple, quite straightforward, but Leeteuk performed it with such reverence that the basic movement of tucking a strand of hair behind your ear seemed like a gesture full of gallantry.

A flash of light illuminated the sky, followed by the audible echo of thunder. The singer suddenly stopped in his tracks and squeezed your hand almost imperceptibly.

Your gaze traveled from the singer's face to the sky, as if you were an expert analyzing weather conditions.

"I think it's going to rain," you announced, reaching out your hand to check if the drops of the impending rain were beginning to fall or if you had time to get home.

"Let's hurry."

You hadn't taken two steps when the first drops of rain began to fall, heralding a terrible storm.

With just one glance, both of you understood what you had to do and ran toward the nearest store to take shelter before the rain soaked you completely.

His strides were longer than yours, but the fact that he didn't let go of your hand made you move a little faster to keep up with him. Both moved along, laughing and pushing each other playfully, until reached a bookstore that was closed but whose awning served as the perfect shelter for the two of you.

Time passed and the two talked about all kinds of things, enjoying each other's company and the cold night air, which gave you the excuse you needed to stay in each other's arms for longer and longer.

"Look," you said with obvious enthusiasm, pointing to a machine in the distance.

Leeteuk looked where your finger was pointing, and a smile formed on his face when he realized what it was. He instinctively reached into his pocket to pull out a couple of coins; there was no other way to access the machine without them.

You two quickly ran over there, getting your heads wet along the way but laughing with the satisfaction of having reached your goal.

"It's been a while since I've tried one of these," said Leeteuk, moving the lever on the crane machine, checking that it still moved and wasn't stuck. "Which one do you like?"

You narrowed your eyes and tried to wipe a space on the glass with the edge of your coat sleeve so you could see the objects inside. Although there were several stuffed animals and some key chains with popular characters, only one had caught your attention.

The wind pushed the rain toward you, and soon your hair and the singer's hair were completely soaked.

"The panda bear, definitely that one," you declared with conviction as your gaze fell on the fabric bamboo that the little animal was clinging to. "It's so cute."

Your voice and the sparkle in your eyes made the idol take it as a real challenge, completely forgetting the fact that both were standing in front of the machine under the pouring rain.

Leeteuk inserted the first coin into the slot located under the lever and the button to activate the mechanism, and the machine turned on several colored lights while a mechanical sound came from somewhere inside the game.

The singer moved the lever and the crane obeyed the command, moving in sync with Leeteuk's wrist movements. The mechanism vibrated and shook as he narrowed his eyes to calculate the perfect spot where he could perfectly grasp the stuffed animal.

"A little more to the left," you commented, standing on tiptoe as if that would give you a better view of the inside of the machine.

"Are you sure?"

"Lower, lower. Time is running out," you squealed, hitting the singer's arm without taking your eyes off the claw that was hovering in the same spot.

The idol pressed the button and the claw descended slowly and tortuously, shaking as if there were an earthquake inside.

The fingers of the mechanical claw caressed the soft two-tone plush of the stuffed animal, but the bamboo caused it to close around the air, without even touching the panda.

"No way!"

You rested your forehead against the glass and tapped the machine lightly, as if it were to blame for every misfortune in your life.

"I'll try again," Leeteuk said, inserting another coin into the machine.

In theory, the second attempt should turn out better than the first, so the idol approached the task as if it required the most exhaustive mathematical calculation ever seen.

His eyes narrowed, he stuck out his tongue slightly near the right corner of his lips, and held his breath just a little before pressing the claw button.

The mechanism descended, and the singer clung to the edge of the machine in an obvious sign of nervousness.

The crane descended slowly, seemingly slower than the first time. The iron fingers wrapped around the panda again, and when they closed, you were almost certain that the toy would be yours.

The panda rose, but then the crane stopped at the top of the machine and the little bear rushed to join the rest of its friends inside the machine.

"They're doing it on purpose," you grumbled, turning to look at Leeteuk. "It was in the air, it was clearly ours, and because of the machine, we lost it. It's not fair."

The idol laughed at your reaction and took out another coin to take another turn at the curious and frustrating mechanical game.

His fingers couldn't grip the device comfortably because of the water running down his limb, but then the lights flashed again and the crane moved once more.

On this new attempt, the singer did his best to position himself directly above the stuffed animal, hoping that this time everything would work out.

"If it doesn't work this time, I guess I'll have to say goodbye to it."

Your statement broke Leeteuk's heart as he was about to press the button to lower the crane for the third time.

"I could go and change a bill," he suggested, showing you the cash.

"You shouldn't do that for a doll."

"It's not for the doll, it's for you," he assured you, and that sentence, as simple as it may have sounded, brought a smile back to your face.

With greater conviction, he pressed the button and the crane came down again, shaking and making as much noise as it had on each previous attempt.

This time, the center of the mechanical claw pressed down on the stuffed animal's head, and when the iron fingers closed around it, it managed to lift it cleanly.

Your eyes sparkled as you watched the bear being moved from the pile of stuffed animals to the huge hole where it would fall out of the machine.

The rain continued to beat down on you both, soaking your coats and sticking the heavy fabric to your bodies, but it didn't matter, not when you looked so happy with the feat.

The claw opened its fingers and the animal fell straight into the hole that led to the small exit door. As if you had been waiting for this moment your whole life, you bent down to pick it up before Leeteuk could get close to you.

"It's beautiful!" you squealed, squeezing the doll against your chest. "I thought you wouldn't make it."

"Anything for you, even suffering from hypothermia to get a teddy bear."

His words snapped you out of the little bubble you were in.

Suddenly, you noticed that the coat meant to protect you from the cold was completely wet, with the dampness seeping into your bones and the wind making you shiver.

Your hair stuck to your face as you tried to tuck it away so it wouldn't get in your way.

"It's time to go home," you whispered between chattering teeth and trembling lips. "I don't want to catch a cold."

You sneezed loudly, causing the singer to laugh.

"Let's go to the pharmacy first."

You were sure you would wake up with a sore body and probably a slight fever, but you had the panda, a beautiful bear that Leeteuk had won by fighting a mechanical game.

In the moment's heat

Running shoes? Check.

Cap? Check.

Water?... You'd buy something on the way.

You grabbed your phone and put it in your shorts pocket before leaving the house to meet your best friend.

You had finally started your running training. Donghae had worked hard to make this happen for you, and you couldn't let him down by not showing up on the first day.

You were in pretty good shape, but laziness had gotten the better of you, and your muscles were a little stiff and reluctant to do that kind of activity.

You checked the time, and as if he had an alarm clock, Donghae knocked on your door to start the routine.

There was no time to waste.

As soon as you opened the door, the idol pulled your hand to force you outside. You stumbled as you quickly descended the steps, and when you regained your balance, the singer smiled with that bright expression that had captivated you years ago.

"Did you rest well? I don't want today's walk to leave you completely exhausted," Donghae said, doing a series of stretches before starting the actual exercise.

"Sleeping is my specialty," you joked mimicking his movements in front of your house. "I'm ready for your intense walk."

After a couple of jogs in the same spot, you both set off for the Han River, where the path designed for cyclists and runners awaited you.

The singer's strides were long and steady, while yours were slightly shorter and more awkward. Sometimes he slowed down to wait for you to catch up.

The soothing sound of running water alleviated the heat. What had started as a leisurely walk soon turned into a kind of race under the scorching sun.

Donghae's skin and yours were already covered in sweat.

Light beads of sweat ran down his tanned arms, as well as others that slid from his shoulders to his lower back.

You weren't having a better time.

Your T-shirt was completely wet, causing the fabric to stick to your body with every movement.

The sun reflected off the ground, regardless of the fact that you had a cap on your head or that Donghae had shared a pair of sunglasses with you so you could continue running.

Dehydration under the sun was almost certain, but the idol was happy, in his element. If at any point the sun made him uncomfortable, he never showed it.

Your legs gradually began to feel heavy and your vision sometimes became slightly blurred, as if a layer of mist had clouded it.

It was the headache that forced you to stop to catch your breath and slow your heart rate.

"Are you okay?" Donghae asked, returning to your side as soon as he noticed you had stopped.

"I just have a headache, I guess it's from running so hard," you explained, doing a couple of breathing exercises to relax. "Nothing a rest won't fix."

The idol offered you his water bottle and you gladly accepted it. The coldness of the liquid caused another twinge in your head, forcing you to close your eyes in an unconscious gesture of pain.

"Are you feeling dizzy?"

The concern in his voice was evident, and the fact that he made you crouch down beside him showed how much he cared about your health.

"It'll pass, I just need some fresh air."

You inhaled audibly and exhaled more forcefully. Your vision suddenly became a little blurry and there seemed to be no improvement.

"Can we go home? I don't feel very well," you murmured, holding onto the singer's arm.

"I'll call a taxi."

"An ambulance, please," you whispered before fainting.

If it hadn't been for Hae's quick reflexes, your head would have hit the ground.

Your eyes still felt heavy as you struggled to open them, and your head still had that foggy feeling that prevented you from thinking clearly.

You could clearly recognize the hospital bed as your arm brushed against the IV tube. You knew where you were, but the rest of that story remained like a blurry memory.

You tried to open your eyes again, but it didn't seem to have the desired effect, and when you felt a hand caressing yours, everything lost all logic.

You remembered being on the Han River trail, running with Donghae and complaining about the heat that did nothing but burn everything in its path.

"Where am I?" you asked, feeling dizzy, your senses still clouded by the sharp pain in your head.

"You had heatstroke," said a distorted voice.

Although everyone could clearly hear Donghae speaking, you only heard a strange tone, a deep, strange voice like those altered to interview protected witnesses on the news.

"Who stroke me?"

The singer almost laughed, a little more and the laughter would come out automatically. With a small cough, he cleared his throat before responding again in a relaxed voice.

"The sun. It seems I made you spend a lot of time in the sun."

"It wasn't your fault," you replied, trying to comfort the stranger standing next to the bed, waiting for you, "I was with Donghae."

The man smiled tenderly and remained silent, waiting patiently for you to continue with your monologue of excuses and blame.

As your words came out in a rush and your lethargy continued, the singer could do nothing but admire you and smile at your meaningless words.

"That Donghae must be very bad to have exposed you to the sun for so long," he commented amusedly, waiting to hear your response.

Your calm expression changed as you frowned, deepening the slight, barely noticeable wrinkles on your forehead.

"He's not that bad," you scolded, feeling a new twinge in your head, "he's the best person I've ever met in this world."

"If he was that good, he wouldn't have made you run in the sun," Donghae replied, amused by the situation.

Your senses were torn between keeping you sleepy and proving that what you were experiencing was real and not part of a dream.

"You're silly," you smiled, tightening your grip on the idol's hand. "Can I tell you a secret?"

The singer's eyes sparkled at the possibility of learning one of your secrets, something interesting enough that you would agree to reveal it only in that state.

Guilt also prevented him from enjoying the moment, but it wasn't as if you were under the influence of any sedatives or medication that made you drowsy. He was partly responsible for your condition.

He traced a couple of circles on your knuckles with his thumb before answering your question.

"I'm all ears," his soft voice gave you enough confidence to open your mouth and reveal a truth that had been buried under the foundations on which your wonderful friendship with the idol had been built.

"I think I like Donghae," you whispered with a silly smile that left the idol speechless.

"Well… you're friends, you must at least like him."

You shook your head on the pillow as you gave his hand a friendly squeeze.

"No, I mean I like like… really liking," you moved your free hand, trying to convey the emotion that overwhelmed you at the simple fact of being able to reveal to someone that secret you had been hiding for years.

Donghae was grateful to be in a hospital at that moment, just in case his heart started to fail after hearing your words.

He wasn't prepared for that kind of confession. He honestly thought it would be something less personal and more silly, like how you always wanted to raise a fish when you said you disliked the smell of fish tanks.

A confession of love exceeded all expectations, and the fact that his cheeks flushed, his pulse quickened, and his stomach did somersaults had little to do with heatstroke.

His hand squeezed yours gently and affectionately, with a tenderness he rarely showed around you, fearing that his feelings would ruin the kind of relationship you both had.

"Do you want to know a secret?" Donghae asked, leaning close to your face, close enough for you to hear his whispered voice.

You nodded, trying to sit up, but the singer's hand on your forehead prevented you from doing so.

"Donghae likes you too."

And when that confession reached your ears, causing you to laugh like a silly teenager in love, the singer burst out laughing, which earned him a scolding from one of the nurses.

Both felt liberated, both had managed to express your feelings for each other, but Donghae was sure he would have to do it properly, when you were out of the hospital and there was no trace of that terrible heat stroke on your body.

The big prize

Donghae's hands rested on yours as you held a suitcase to lift it into the singer's car.

Your eyes closed and the previously amused look changed to an annoyed expression.

"I'm not a wimp, I can carry a stupid suitcase into the car," you complained, drilling the idol with your eyes.

"Sure, but you're the only woman in the group," he lifted the heavy suitcase as if it contained only feathers inside and threw it into the trunk, "and therefore I feel the obligation to take care of you," he smiled and tousled your hair with his hands, earning a kick in the ass.

Normally you were intelligent, the most thoughtful and meditative of the group. Your role was to be the conscience of the four men who kept doing and saying stupid things.

In other circumstances you would have welcomed the gallant and gentlemanly gesture of any other man, but it was Hae, they were your friends and you couldn't behave any other way with them.

"Guess who thinks I have porcelain wrists?" you announced, placing a cap on your head to protect your eyes from the bright sun.

Your other three friends laughed as they made mocking comments towards Donghae's tendency to take more care of you than necessary.

It was so noticeable to everyone except the two of you. You looked like a couple of kids teasing each other for each other's attention, but no one was going to stop you, not when it provided a little entertainment for the rest.

"Leave the Superman suit at home for a day," joked another of your friends, "our (Y/N) can do things on her own."

With a series of childish comments and meaningless teasing, all climbed into the singer's car and set off on your longed-for journey to a secluded house in the city, a place where you could be yourselves without having to pretend in front of the cameras.

When you were surrounded by them you could be just you, the real. You allowed yourself to let your guard down to live what would be the best memories of your life.

Being with them always gave you that feeling of peace, it gave you the tranquility of knowing you were understood and cared for by each one of them.

The city slowly disappeared on the horizon along with the social pressure and in front of you only a vast field full of laughter, grass and freedom could be distinguished.

As soon as the car stopped in front of the house, you got out of the car and stretched out your arms, receiving the last rays of the sun on your face and inhaling some fresh air until your lungs were completely filled.

"I'll go check the rooms," you commented, twisting at the waist to unwind the muscles that had remained still during the entire trip.

Your steps were stopped by Donghae, who grabbed you by the shoulders and pushed you towards the garage.

"We need hands to unpack," he said as he left for the house dragging a couple of suitcases.

You smiled amused and snorted as if that was really a complicated task, however this time you decided not to go for the suitcases, but to bring down the cooler with the beef they had bought to cook.

Your two hands gripped each handle of the cubical container and you made an effort to pull it down in one pull. Your knees bent, your hands tightened their grip and finally you prepared your back to perform the movement properly.

Mentally you counted to three and at the end of the count hands rested on yours, your back came in contact with someone's chest and the scent of a soft musky perfume invaded your nose.

Donghae was behind you, helping you to lift that container that weighed more than a simple suitcase.

"Is your goal on this trip to hurt your back?" he asked, setting the cooler on the ground.

"No, it's to annoy you."

You rolled your eyes and retraced your path into the house, checking from time to time to make sure Donghae was walking behind you.

Bags of chips were scattered on the coffee table, glasses of soda sat on the table, and bottles of soju huddled on the side of the sofa.

The relaxed atmosphere had led to this. The party was in full swing and Donghae had a microphone in his hand along with a tambourine in the other as he sang his own version of 'We are the world'.

You, on the other hand, watched as you sat on the floor and swayed your body to the music and the off-key notes of the idol in front of you.

"I can do Cindy's part," you declared with excessive enthusiasm and confidence.

You jumped to your feet and Hae brought the microphone to your lips as you gave your all to imitate those notes.

The rest of your friends burst into laughter as you swore that part came out flawlessly.

More songs played and more performances were shown in the calm of such a harmonious gathering. Everyone was enjoying themselves, everyone had been drinking and, for the moment, everyone was in the middle of a worldwide conflict of interest thanks to Monopoly.

"Look (Y/N), if you and I get married then we will pool our wealth," one of your friends began to explain, trying to whisper but failing terribly and miserably. "I bought New York and Tennessee, when we get married you will give me Saint James Place and we will have control over this line of territory."

You laughed from the center of your stomach as you shook your head and fanned your face with the few bills you still possessed.

"But I bought the railroads and you mortgaged your hotel in Illinois," you objected, closing one eye to elaborate your argument, "this union seems to me to be a complete disadvantage."

The table was again filled with laughter as Hae rolled the dices to end the negotiation. His economy was slowly crumbling and the pair of fours on the dices made everyone laugh out loud as the number took him straight to your luxurious hotels in Park Place.

Donghae practically threw himself on the table, ruining the game as he reached out to take your hands.

"Marry me and forgive my debt," he whimpered in the middle of the game causing everyone to laugh.

You laughed too, but you couldn't stop your cheeks from blushing or your pulse from racing.

The game was ruined but no one seemed to care, much less when the three remaining members fell to the ground victims of sleep and soju.

Donghae still wasn't tired, in fact his energy was still intact, as if he was a child who had eaten a whole box of chocolates and now couldn't sleep with all that sugar speeding up his nervous system.

"Let's play UNO. Let's bet something. Let's make this an interesting game," he grumbled, reaching for the pack of cards in the pockets of his sweatpants.

"What are we betting, garments?" you raised an eyebrow mischievously, provoking a nervous laugh from the singer.

"Something more interesting."

"In that case… whoever loses will be the winner's servant for a day," you proposed, immediately thinking of the kind of things you could use Donghae's help for.

"Done."

And with that nod the singer shuffled the cards with the professionalism and gallantry of someone who dedicated his life to working in casinos.

Your gaze watched the way his hands moved while he smiled in satisfaction as he noticed the curiosity shining in your eyes.

Donghae handed out seven cards to each of you and the game began. It was the bloodiest battle that had ever been witnessed in that house, everything was played between several punishment cards to add two cards in your hands.

Strategy did not work in that kind of contest, not when at any moment a wild draw four card could be placed on the table.

When the draw pile was halved and the discard pile was increasing at an accelerated rate, the miracle happened. The wild card was in your possession. You were already assured of victory.

After shouting out the color you needed in the game, the singer received the final lunge. You were victorious.

"No!" he cried dramatically, placing both hands on the table, lamenting in anticipation of the future of slavery that awaited him. "Double or nothing."

The proposal cut your song of victory in half. The challenge was thrown on the table and you, buoyed by soju, adrenaline and the ecstasy of being victorious, accepted without question.

The singer and composer again turned over the cards.

His determination was fixed on winning, on preventing the submission of his will to your demands and, if possible, reversing his punishment.

One by one the cards were passed, in your hand remained seven cards of various colors and numbers. This time the game was serious, no jokes or comments between moves.

Your fingers danced on the edge of the cards while your mind tried to devise a move to obtain victory, and when he made the mistake of changing the color of the cards from red to yellow, a triumphant smile formed on your face.

"Uno!" you shouted before putting a skip card.

"No!" Hae exclaimed in anticipation.

It was a yellow number four that ended up defining his fate.

You stood up dancing to an imaginary beat as you boasted about your victory.

"Will I have to be your slave for two days?" he asked begging for your forgiveness.

"That sounds terrible but I don't see you offering a trade."

"Shut up and kiss her," shouted one of his friends, someone who was still torn between sleep and unconsciousness.

The idol's gaze immediately fell on yours. In his pupils you could see the intense debate between taking the offer or refusing and accepting the initial punishment.

You were static, locked in place, unable to look away. His words continued to echo in your heart.

The offer was tempting.

"That seems like a reasonable exchange," you muttered as soon as the heat of the moment and the booze gave you the courage to talk about it. "What is it but a kiss between friends? It's not like our friendship is going to be ruined by a bet."

Donghae nodded slowly and approached just as quietly, allowing you to back away in case you refused him, but you didn't and he thanked it.

His hand rested on your lower back to give you some stability. He was close, too close, his breath could mingle with yours, the tip of his nose brushed the bridge of yours.

The sensation lasted only seconds, a couple of seconds before his lips joined yours. The warmth of both melted them in that gesture that started tender and innocent, but as soon as your hand came in contact with her hair, the story changed its course.

His hand came down to position itself on your hip. The gesture was possessive, guided by instinct and emotions.

When his other hand cradled your cheek with that tenderness with which he had always treated you, your heart skipped a beat and the butterflies in your stomach took flight.

Shortness of breath caused you to separate but your face remained pressed against the singer's hand. Your eyes were bright, sparkling with newfound excitement.

"It looks like we both ended up winning," whispered the idol.

"Double or nothing?" you murmured, ignoring his comment.

Donghae laughed, it was a loud laughter that echoed through the house before his lips pressed against yours again, accepting the proposal.

It was a bad idea, a lousy decision if he had been asked his opinion about it.

Jong Jin couldn't stop laughing on the other side of the cafeteria counter, his knees had given way forcing him to squat down as the laughter continued to erupt as if it was peak comedy.

"Could someone remind me why I'm doing this?" Yesung asked, allowing his manager to place a piece of purple cloth over his right shoulder and another one in a yellow shade on the left side.

"Because you love me enough to do it and because it is your duty as a big brother," stated Jong Jin still smiling at his brother's gestures.

What was happening was beyond the singer's comprehension. His life had long since revolved around stages and recording booths, not blind dates with mysterious people. He was no longer a teenager.

He had delayed a wardrobe fitting only to acquiesce to his brother's demands, but he was his younger brother and therefore felt a brotherly obligation to help him.

"You will take Kkoming and Melo to the vet for the rest of the year," Yesung declared without giving any room for reply.

It was an order and he expected it to be respected.

"Sure, sure," the barista waved his hand as he placed a filter with enough coffee to prepare an Iced Americano for his brother, "I'll take care of it."

The vocalist nodded and allowed the people around him to decide the important things for the blind date he was about to have.

The attire had been selected, something not so much to his liking but it was the kind of clothes his brother would wear to that kind of event.

He was uncomfortable and the date hadn't even started.

He was supposed to answer to the name Jong Jin all the time. He was basically impersonating his identity, which was very silly considering that he was a celebrity, someone whose face could be seen even in subway stations. No doubt he would recognize him and the act would fall apart.

The flower shop where he was to go to pick up the bouquet his brother had requested was still closed and the appointment was at seven o'clock in the evening. He had too much time to spare.

He shouldn't have canceled the dress fitting for a silly blind date.

His hands instantly went to his temples, as if that unexpected event was giving him a terrible headache. He blamed his brother completely along with his strange friendships.

He couldn't remember the last time he had been on a blind date, but of course he could relive the memory of the girl he had met on one and, given the disastrous and embarrassing encounter, he hoped never in his life to see her again.

Lately all kinds of strange people accepted that kind of encounter, usually those who had problems to socialize and therefore needed that kind of push to make contact with new people.

He hoped that the intentions of the woman who would meet him were precisely to widen her social circle and not to get a second date with him.

"So I just have to go there, introduce myself as Kim Jong Jin, interact for at least two hours and there's no need to take her home?" he repeated, hoping that his younger brother would take pity and decide to go on his own.

"That's right, but I've been sworn she's an interesting girl," he shrugged, "maybe I'm even doing you a favor."

Yesung snorted and laughed at the comment, hoping it was a joke and not that he really thought of it that way. He didn't need that kind of favor, if an interesting woman crossed his path he thought he had the courage to exchange a few words before getting a date.

He was not sixteen and his hormones did not obstruct his reasoning.

The singer took the glass with coffee and ice cubes and left his brother's store, starting his walk in the direction of the flower shop. He still had a lot of time ahead of him and he could spend it taking some pictures or visiting interesting art exhibitions in the small galleries hidden around Seoul.

An exhibition of paper art, a ceramic handicraft store and an ice cream shop with mysterious flavors were the little nooks and crannies that served as a distraction before the engagement that seemed to suffocate his mind as if the idea was strangling him.

The sun was diminishing its luminosity, slowly losing itself among clouds, buildings and the treetops. The shadows were becoming more and more elongated and prominent presences reflected on the facades of houses and establishments.

A few birds were still flying in the sky but their songs had diminished, the families playing in the park had slowly dispersed and the time to pick up the bouquet of flowers had come.

Oddly enough, Yesung was slightly intrigued by the kind of person his brother's friends might think was an excellent woman to set up a blind date with.

He knew his brother, at least he thought he had a definite idea of the kind of tastes Jong Jin possessed, so if that woman was to his younger brother's liking, surely she couldn't fit into his.

Whoever the mysterious woman of the blind date was, she must have been a bit naive to have accepted that kind of meeting, at least he could be sure of that.

With that kind of questioning, the singer grabbed the doorknob and pushed the door to open the flower shop, but it did not open. He tried again without success.

His knuckles rapped on the translucent glass, forcing you to look away from the beautiful blue-toned bouquet you were arranging for a customer.

Your eyes were fixed on the man pushing open the door, not knowing that what you were supposed to do was to pull it open. You shook your head and placed the bouquet on the table so you could leave your place behind the counter.

With a beaming smile you placed your hand on the doorknob and pushed the door open to let him in.

"Was it the other way?" asked the singer, feeling foolish at his own confusion.

"The owner insisted on taking advantage of all the interior space without the door obstructing," you explained, holding the door for your new client to enter.

Yesung looked at the different pots displayed in a row arranged by size and shade. Inevitably he took out his phone and took some pictures of their effect on the shelves.

"Are you looking for a specific arrangement?" you questioned, standing close to him as if to alert him to your presence but giving him room to move.

"I came to pick up a bouquet."

"Oh, you must be the customer of the dahlias," you commented enthusiastically.

Your footsteps echoed across the tiles as you went to the back room to pick up the arrangement that had been ordered by phone a week in advance.

That bouquet was one of your best pieces. It just so happened that several of those flowers were practically your favorites so the arrangement was doubly special.

"Since they are dahlias, I hope that the woman who receives these soft flowers really values your feelings," you murmured, caressing the petals of one of them one last time.

You handed the bouquet into the singer's hands and allowed him to leave the store with his hands full of flowers. Your chest felt full when you saw the happiness with which that man walked admiring the bouquet you had designed yourself.

Your gaze drifted unconsciously to your wristwatch, hoping that the time for your blind date would never come.

You had agreed because you owed your friend a favor and he had not stopped chattering about what a nice person this supposed owner of a coffee shop was.

You wished you had a time machine to travel to the future and avoid going through that encounter. You didn't feel like closing your establishment early just because of a blind date.

You were no longer a teenager, you had responsibilities and you couldn't afford to waste your time like that.

The hands of the clock moved and you sighed, placing one hand on your hip and running the other through your hair, leaving furrows and tousling it.

You slowly shed the work apron and gloves that protected your hands as you cleaned the flower stems. You needed to make a good impression so as not to make your friend look bad, at least you had to make an effort to avoid criticism.

You wondered what the other person knew about you, if he was expecting someone like you or if his mind had produced an image that had nothing to do with you.

It didn't matter, you couldn't care less what he thought, you weren't going to pretend or try to fit in just to please your blind date.

You grabbed the bag you had tucked behind some vases and glanced at the lights, making sure they were off before closing the store.

You hadn't even had time to apply body cream or perfume to your skin, you had rushed from work to the appointment thinking that none of that should matter.

Yesung chose a table in the comfortable cafeteria and mentally reviewed all the information he knew about his brother. He needed to focus on the character he was going to play so as not to make a mistake.

He placed the bouquet on the table, rested his elbows on the wood and took a deep breath to help his concentration.

His gaze tried not to fall on the door, he did not wish to appear too aware of the situation he was in, nor did he wish to give the wrong message by appearing anxious to meet you.

Now he was not Jong Woon, he was Kim Jong Jin and he owned a coffee shop.

His eyes widened as his gaze moved from the door to the menu, checking what was served there. If he attended a cafeteria he was supposed to know something about the subject and he was not prepared to answer your possible doubts about it.

His fingers traveled quickly over the phone screen as he searched for some information so as not to appear ignorant, but then the cafeteria doors opened and you made an entrance worthy of any movie production.

The skirt of your dress billowed around you as your heels clacked on the wooden floor. Your mere presence seemed to have illuminated that space that he had not noticed was devoid of natural light.

Yesung was sure that he was not the only person with his eyes fixed on you, it was impossible for the other diners not to observe your movements.

For a moment he thought you were doing it on purpose, that your steps were too slow, but soon he understood that it was him who seemed to be watching everything in slow motion.

"Forgive me for being late, there was a traffic accident and the cab veered off the route," you excused yourself as you pulled the chair back so you could sit down.

"You're not late."

"Don't be condescending, of course I'm late," you smiled as if you could make up for your mistake, "Is there anything on the menu that caught your eye?"

At this point in the date, Yesung wondered if that smile would soon leave your face or if you were just doing it to cheer up everything in your path.

He didn't want to look like a fool, but he could swear that all around you was an alo of light meant to illuminate wherever you were.

"Strawberry shortcake," he replied coming out of his slight daze.

"That's my favorite too," you mentioned, smiling again.

"These flowers are for you," he hastened to say, lightly pushing the bouquet toward you for you to take.

Your eyes widened as you saw several of your favorite flowers in it, even the colors were harmonious… your expression of astonishment was quickly replaced by one of amusement that let out the melodious sound of your laughter.

"My dahlia client!" you said, pleasantly surprised, "I can't believe you're my date today."

The singer frowned trying to understand your words.

"I am the owner of the flower shop," you clarified when you saw the obvious confusion with which he was watching you.

With a practiced movement you put your hair up, twisting it into a badly made bun.

Yesung opened his eyes wide and pointed directly at you, the surprise could be seen in his eyes and you did nothing but laugh at the pleasant surprise.

"I didn't know the bouquet was for you," he said before creating a misunderstanding.

"I know, it's still a beautiful arrangement," you said, holding the bouquet in your hands, admiring it as if you were seeing it for the first time. "Thank you."

"To you, for doing a job that pleased my blind date."

You laughed sweetly at the flattering little comment, your fingers caressing the soft surface of the petals of a purple dahlia before removing it from the floral arrangement.

"So what exactly did they tell you about me, Kim Jong Jin?" you finally questioned, putting the flower between your blind date and yourself.

"Absolutely nothing, just that you were a nice person."

You raised an eyebrow and smiled again. The singer had begun to think that this gesture must be your trademark because the slight curvature of your lips had never faded during the whole time you had been sitting there.

"Am I living up to expectations?" you asked with genuine curiosity.

"You exceeded them."

You laughed. That sound came out as a harmonic and almost angelic echo that resounded in the singer's ears.

The rest of the date passed in the blink of an eye.

Your food orders had been similar, the topics the two talked about were interesting. Discussing his points of view, catching up on the artistic novelties of the city, even mentioning again the coincidence in the flower shop seemed to open your mind with new perspectives.

"It's funny," you commented with that serious and distant tone, as if your words came out in whispers that only Yesung could appreciate, "I never imagined that someone who attended a coffee shop would have so much free time to appreciate the exhibitions of the galleries hidden in alleys or in the rooms of the refurbished houses."

The idol remained static for a moment, his mind suddenly generating the idea that perhaps it had been too obvious that he was not really Jong Jin.

"You know, I have employees who take care of the business," he excused, gesturing with his hands to downplay those details.

"Well, it's a pleasant surprise that such a successful person with free time and an analytical eye for art was my first blind date after so long."

Guilt stabbed the singer with the sharp blade of regret.

"The truth is, I didn't―

His words faded as soon as your fingers returned to absentmindedly stroking the stem of the dahlia you had separated from the rest of the bouquet.

Yesung took a long, slow breath before placed his fingers close to yours but without touching.

"I'm not Jong Jin," he confessed with sorrow, "I'm his brother."

Your lips parted in a gesture of surprise, but nevertheless you nodded understandingly.

The singer watched your gestures and waited patiently for you to say something, to ask anything and even for you to leave.

"Do you know what the dahlias mean?" you asked, allowing your fingertips to brush over the singer's fingernails.

Yesung was lost in the sensation and only shook his head, hoping that his answer would be enough for you to continue talking.

"Symbolizes affection" you traced the stem of the flower with your index finger, losing contact with less than an inch away from the singer's fingers, "but when they are lilac they acquire another meaning."

"And is it―?"

"I bet you didn't even think about it when you offered them to me," you commented, laughing lightly, with that sound Yesung clung to as a sign of a possible connection between the two, as a demonstration that everything was all right.

"I didn't think it mattered."

"Matters when the meaning is something like lasting and loyal love."

Yesung felt his body temperature rising, he was fully aware that the color of his cheeks had changed to a completely natural red.

You took the flower again and placed it exactly in front of him. There was no doubt that you were offering that flower to him and no one else but him.

"Thank you for being honest with me and apparently loyal to your brother," you murmured looking the idol directly in the eyes hoping to get any reaction from him. "I recognized you," you admitted still smiling, "recently your face was announcing an apparent tour of the continent."

You grabbed your bag and stood up, you were ready to leave after the pleasant evening.

"How can I contact you?"

His voice was unrecognizable to himself, as if he was longing for a second encounter, one that hours ago he had sworn he did not want.

You laughed again and shook your head at a question whose answer was obvious.

"In the flower shop. Come whenever you wish, I'll be waitingfor you, this time with orange dahlias."

You smiled again.

You knew perfectly well that he would look for its meaning and you hoped that, when he felt secure with his own feelings, he would come to your little store in one of the many streets of Seoul.

Crushing the distance

Your fingers moved across the phone screen while the idea you had in mind remained fresh. You needed to write the lyrics of that song as soon as possible, to give shape to the idea while inspiration made your fingers tingle.

You didn't want to admit it, but the person you had met online was a great source of inspiration. His way of seeing the world was appealing, the late night chats were inspiring and the messages exchanged were that bit of romance that nurtured your creations.

It had all happened suddenly, with discreet comments from an anonymous user judging the way you took pictures of the landscapes you had passed through on your little impromptu trip in search of inspiration.

His way of interpreting the images had interested you, perhaps more than was considered prudent. It was that first approach that compelled you to start that exchange of messages.

You could not deny that you were anxiously waiting for the night to come, with the moon and all those stars dotting the sky like little glowing freckles. When the world was silent was the moment when the letters made their appearance and worked their magic.

His perspective opened doors, created paths and built bridges. Art became a common language with which you both felt comfortable behind a screen.

Despite that furtive friendship, there was someone who could intrude without asking permission and yet you would let it happen without complaint. Yesung, the idol, the singer in his solo version was in concert and you could not miss the opportunity to see him.

"I'm sorry to say, but tomorrow I won't be able to attend our little debate," you wrote, feeling the prick of guilt. "Tomorrow someone will be in town and I have tickets to attend."

"Enjoy," was his message. Just like that, until a couple of minutes later the vibration of your phone warned you that there was more to read, "I hope you can update with pictures of the event."

"Of course, I'll try the saturation technique you mentioned."

You pressed the device against your chest and let out a sigh while the idol's last song was emitted through the headphones as the perfect description of your feelings: "It's complicated".

On the day of the concert the rain had darkened the sky, the clouds danced wildly being swept by the wind and the fans chanted to the rhythm of the melody playing from inside the venue. Without thinking you took out your phone and photographed the scene to show 'cloud_nday' a cloudy morning sky, just the kind of scene his username evoked in your mind.

The concert was an experience, with the audience chanting, the lights twinkling like stars and Yesung's voice harmonizing with the atmosphere. Just perfect, and as if the night needed to be even more memorable, your friend on social media had sent a message to cheer for the picture taken.

Two months after that routine things had slowly and almost unconsciously escalated. He knew your tastes and you were beginning to feel you knew everything about him.

You had revealed your work in the musical world without evidencing the pseudonym that sheltered you to continue creating better lyrics inspired by those nights talking about music, photography and books.

Yesung couldn't have been more pleased to have established contact with the person behind one of his favorite photography accounts. For him that friendship had happened like a miracle.

It was impossible that the person he admired shared the same hobbies as him. Not only was it about photography, but 'sunflashine09' was also a composer.

The coincidences were happening one by one, like little drops that together can form lakes. What had started as interaction with his own idol had grown into an almost romantic online relationship.

"Days ago I read that 'Bling Blingurl' was working on new songs," the idol commented through his alternate account, waiting a couple of seconds for you to ask who he was talking about.

"Do you know that songwriter?" you wrote, feeling your fingers burning with impatience to know his answer.

He knew you, by God, he knew of your existence as an amateur photographer and also an almost anonymous composer. The world had stopped spinning at its usual pace for a dizzying shift to the opposite side.

"Do you know about her?"

Instantly Yesung regretted sending the question. You clearly knew her even though it was almost impossible for you to know of her existence, that is, he, Yesung the singer, had barely heard of her.

In amazement he brought his hands straight to his head, tugging lightly on his hair as he waited for your answer, which would clearly be a confirmation.

"I don't know if I'm looking forward to meeting you or Bling Blingurl more," he redacted with trembling hands.

It was done. He needed to meet the person he admired for his artistic sense and who now seemed to share a special bond with him.

The coincidences and signs had been too clear to ignore. He had already established contact; he had shared so many things with a stranger, that you had soon left that mutual unfamiliarity to get to know each other better.

You caught your lower lip between your teeth, nibbling lightly as you thought about whether it would be a good idea send your reply or delete it before it moved at the speed of light to appear in their message box.

You closed your eyes and placed the screen against your desk, allowing time to clear your doubts.

You didn't know if you were ready to reveal your identity, to introduce yourself as the photographer behind Sunflashine09 and, at the same time, the composer Bling blingurl.

The whole situation was unreal. The desire to meet him was too much, it had grown exponentially thanks to the daily messages.

You exhaled closing your eyes and, before your mind developed a whole thesis on why revealing your identity was a bad idea, you pressed the button to send the message.

"See you tomorrow at my house."

Yesung blinked in confusion, thinking that message said anything but what he was seeing.

His hands scrubbed his eyelids and his eyes came back into sharper focus on that sentence followed by the exact location where you two would meet.

The idol's stomach did a strange flip, one that pushed his expectations to the max and pulled up the corners of his lips.

It was done, he had a more than interesting meeting for tomorrow at the time he usually talked to whom he could now consider more than a friend, maybe someone similar to a soul mate.

The autumn wind shook the dry leaves from the trees, swirling them at the foot of the trees, waiting for them to accumulate to create those beautiful pictures that many photographers were dying to capture.

Yesung's eyes took in the spectacle, but he didn't take the time to stop and take a picture, he wasn't there for it. His footsteps continued their leisurely pace as one of his hands held a small cake inside its cardboard box.

He didn't even know why he had listened to his brother, a cake seemed over the top, it added a kind of commitment to what was supposed to be a casual and unexpected visit.

Your heart fluttered again, your stomach contracted and the floor seemed to move at your feet. Everything in your apartment looked normal, enough not to make it obvious that that apartment was also the studio where you composed most of your songs.

You again shook the table, which was now completely clean, and even arranged the pair of cups that you had already turned over several times.

You turned around on your feet again, observing every detail that made up your home, trying to find the positive of having sent that message, but your treacherous mind seemed more busy elaborating hundreds of scenarios in which things ended in a disastrous way.

The doorbell intoned its music with a roar that almost made your heart burst out of your chest. You took a breath, you had to force your lungs to hold the oxygen in place before you moved forward to open. It was him, you weren't expecting anyone else at such an inconvenient time for any other kind of visitor.

"Welc―

The phrase hovered in the air before your reflexes made you slam the door shut.

Yesung blinked in confusion at what had just happened. Indignation came after surprise and soon his knuckles slammed against the wooden door right in front of him.

"Wait a minute," you shouted, trying to catch your breath to calm your heartbeat.

You still needed to process what you had just seen. Yesung, the singer, the person you admired most in this world was standing in front of your door and you had slammed it in his face.

Panicking, you opened the door again, bowed and stepped aside to allow him access to your home.

"Sorry for slamming the door, I don't know what I was thinking," you let out along with the air in your lungs, "in fact I don't even know if I was really thinking. You must be surprised. Sorry."

The singer was rather confused. The nervous and talkative woman was far from the image he had of the person behind Sunflashine09.

"Let me introduce myself," you added once more calm and collected. "I am Bling Blingurl."

The idol dropped the cardboard box and the cake landed on the floor with a thud. Yesung was clearly transfixed, his eyes were fixed on you but his gaze seemed lost somewhere else.

Apparently Sunflashine09's identity was the least important thing there. You were Bling blingurl, his favorite songwriter. Technically you were the idol of an idol.

"You're the songwriter?" He shook his head as if his thoughts would fall into place, "I mean, are you my composer?"

The way he uttered that question, as if your existence belonged to him, was strange and not in an uncomfortable way but almost.

"That's right."

"And why didn't you tell me before?"

"You didn't tell me you were Yesung either, I was at your concert the day I couldn't talk to you because I had the tickets. Do you remember?"

"And you didn't even talk to me about it?" His tone was that of an offended person.

"Because I didn't know cloud_nday was you, I mean you were Yesung. Do you know how many times I composed a song thinking you could sing it?"

The idol's cheeks flared with a growing reddish hue, slowly processing your words and determining whether to take them as a claim or a compliment.

"I didn't think you―

"Well, the photographer and the composer you admire are the same person, and that person is me. I'm (Y/N)" you bowed before extending your hand to end the introduction.

"May I listen to your new composition?"

Your eyes immediately lit up thinking that things were slowly becoming clearer between the two of you, that the initial misunderstanding was about to be resolved in a positive way for both of you.

"Sure, just let me clean up the whipped cream that fell on the floor," you replied, pointing to the box that was still in tatters right where it had fallen.

The singer apologized and helped with the job while trying to make conversation about how surprising everything had turned out.

You couldn't blame him, not when you yourself had been caught off guard by the events. But artistic souls are always destined to meet, and although your was an unconventional encounter, you had both managed to get close to the person both most admired.

"You know," Yesung murmured after listening to the demo of one of your most recent creations, if not the last one made, "I think I could sing this song."

"I composed it after the first night we spent talking for hours," you confessed, twisting your fingers and avoiding the singer's gaze. "Your appreciation of my photograph inspired me to do it."

"It's beautiful," he admitted, placing a hand on yours, which had been drumming its fingers on the table waiting for him to finish judging your composition. "I want to sing it."

"Go ahead," you insisted, hyper-aware of the coldness of the skin of his hand against the warmth of yours. "It has always been yours."

And with a shrug of your shoulders it was all settled. He would sing your song and maybe, from that moment on, those little nightly chats would stop being done through messages and could take place face to face, without false identities and just being yourselves.

The bright and imposing sun promised a warm day until gusts of wind made you feel quite the opposite, forcing you back inside the house to grab Leeteuk's gloves along with one of his coats and a knitted hat.

You were so happy with the borrowed clothes.

True, everything was too big for you, but it was nice. His scent enveloped you as if he was hugging you from behind, the roomy clothes gave you freedom of movement, and above all, you knew you would return them as soon as you met again that evening for lunch together.

Autumn with its crisp air and dry leaves was more present than ever, the atmosphere could be felt with all those couples holding hands wearing warm clothes, the aroma of coffee and freshly baked bread from the street establishments… it was your favorite time of the year.

It was no wonder that the Chuseok vacations were just around the corner, with hundreds of plans promising quality time and evenings full of laughter and fun.

Maybe you, too, should go to your apartment to pack the clothes you would wear for the five days you would spend at Leeteuk's house.

You would surprise him with your classic suitcase, the one you always used just at that time of the year. As soon as he saw it in the middle of his room, he would surely be happy for the vacation days you could spend together.

But then things changed course and plans suddenly had to be moved.

The tables in the cafeteria fell silent as your chopsticks fell to the floor making that shrill metallic sound that left everyone static.

Suddenly the air was still, as if the fans in the ceiling were not spinning and fanning the interior of the establishment.

You blinked in confusion, tilted your head as if seeing it from another angle would change anything about the meaning of his words. It wasn't the kind of reaction Leeteuk was hoping to get, but at least you hadn't refused.

"What did you… say?" you asked slowly, as if you were talking to someone who barely understood Korean.

"That we should take advantage of the Chuseok to move in and live together," he replied, biting a piece of fruit before popping it into his mouth.

There was that feeling again, a kind of fear running through your veins, doubt gaining ground in your mind as your brain continued to short-circuit.

"I know the vacations are coming up and families are getting together," you began to ramble "but it's not that kind of gathering you know? It's a situation of closeness and trust―

"I know, I know," he said, stroking your hand across the table. "But I'd like to have you home, to know there's someone waiting for me or me waiting for you. It would feel like being with family."

That argument went straight to your heart and shook the walls around it.

"What if we end up fighting?" you questioned without taking your hand away from his.

There was the real fear and uncertainty that kept you from taking that small step.

You had already spent too much time together, enough time to stay a couple of days at his house, enough time for some of your closet to be in his now just in case you decided to wake up next to him on the days you also had to go to work.

The idol smiled tenderly, making sure that his actions and words gave the kind of message that would remove your doubts and make you think that things would turn out well.

"We've had a fight before and we've resolved it well," he replied with a shrug, "so if the situation becomes difficult for both of us again, we'll talk in peace to find a solution to the problem."

Leeteuk wasn't making false promises, he wasn't trying to sell you the idea of a perfect and harmonious coexistence but a tangible solution, and you were grateful for that.

If he was trying to convince you that a life of cohabitation was going to be a piece of cake then you would have flatly refused, but knowing that he accepted your habits and customs in order to live together peacefully meant a lot to you.

"Okay, let's make that move."

You honestly never thought that making a move could be such a hectic process. It didn't matter that there was a service to take your belongings to the idol's house, the real stress was packing the things you were going to need.

Your clothes, every garment, were already arranged in plastic boxes. From then on you didn't need anything else. The mattress was left over as well as every appliance and some other furniture like your small dining room or the compact living room.

You were literally just carrying personal stuff.

"Teuk, love, I'd really like to take more things with me," you complained, putting your jewelry case in another box along with some kitchen utensils that he refused to take because 'at home I already had what we needed'. "At least the fur carpet?" you asked putting the most tender and pleading look you could make, "Koongie already loves it."

You pointed to where the little puppy was wagging her tail as she stood exposing her belly to you in anticipation of some caress, enjoying the feel of the long fur caressing her tiny body.

Leeteuk crouched down to forbid Koongie from rolling around on the carpet to prevent her fur from being scattered around.

"Let her play in my room," you scolded, stroking the little puppy's head as it squirmed in the idol's arms. "This beauty could never bother me with her fur even if she was a cat scratching against my legs."

And there was the first debate, Leeteuk understood that you had a soft spot for little Shim Koongie, but he wasn't going to let you spoil her. There were some rules in his house that were impossible to ignore, such as Koongie, the sweet and tiny Kongie was not allowed to fall asleep on the carpets, or chew on shoes, let alone scratch the furniture.

"Come on Koongie," you laughed as you shook an old slipper for her to jump up and chew on with her little fangs. "Jump a little more."

"Sit," ordered the idol and, unfortunately for the little dog, she had to obey the order.

Your eyes met his, his once tender gaze was now watching you with a determination to scold you, but then you smiled. You elaborated that smile that completely disarmed him and he didn't have the heart to scold you for something as trivial as that.

His arms were soon around your waist and his lips pressed against your temple as they swayed together, dancing in a slow, gentle rhythm.

Hooks paraded inside his closet. It was a neat and tidy space, one with a system that he slowly explained to you but never forced you to fully understand, anyway you had a space there, one in which you could arrange your things as you pleased and which he would fully respect.

The bedroom was the real problem. Your sheets were special, they adapted to you and covered you in the cold season, not that you didn't want to share with him, but you didn't want to see yourself wrapped between white sheets that had no meaning whatsoever.

"My sheets and comforter are very comfortable," he said, sitting down on the mattress.

"But look at mine, it has stars on one side and is fluffy on the other," you showed, carving the softer surface against his cheek, "and," you added, "look at the mattress covers, you'll never in your life get a set of bed and pillow covers with Hello Kitty faces like these."

Leeteuk finally smiled and knew he was beaten, the arguments shown were consistent and unbeatable and when the scent of your perfume mingled in his room he knew he had made the right decision.

When it came time to prepare the meal, the kitchen had become a dance floor, with both of you maneuvering around the space to share the work. While you chopped some peppers, he seasoned the chicken and marinated it in herbs, vinegar and a little spice. When you started sautéing the onion, he took it upon himself to throw in some bell pepper and a pinch more salt to bring out the flavor; and when he put the chicken in the oven, you added some garlic and onion to the equation.

The activity became something you both enjoyed, a peaceful and pleasurable exchange that brought to the table the most delicious feast you both had ever tasted.

What about sleeping? Oh no, the softness of your blankets was no joke, nor was the feeling of being comfortably cradled in his arms while one of his hands caressed your arm absentmindedly.

You both fell asleep soon after, both of you resting with a smile on your face knowing that come dawn no one would have to leave home and that when the vacations were over, your things would still be mixed in with his and maybe, just maybe, his days would have a brighter start.
