15 years ago, I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Animation. I can’t believe it’s been that long! Here is an additional scene from my student film, “Cake Crazy,” starring Koala Taylor, an original character I created in 1993. The premise is that he is making a cake for a baking competition, but a bug literally bugs him along the way. You know, your standard koala vs. bug conflict. The film was only 2 minutes long, if that, and it took about six months to complete. I made it in color as a bonus and quickly found out how much additional trouble that entailed. Lighting, perspective, composition...honestly, not great, but I’m still proud of the fact that I finished a short film, even if it does not stand the test of time and it is ever so slight. But I am my own worst critic, so yeah.
