I just moved to Marrow Creek for work, and I figured I’d make a blog to keep track of some of the stuff I find here. There’s a lot of old signage, abandoned houses, and leftover tech around town, it’s kind of stuck between decades in a way that’s really interesting.

I’ve always liked weird bits of local history and analog stuff, so I thought this might be a fun side project. Mostly photos, notes, maybe some short videos if I can get my old camcorder working again.

Not expecting this to blow up or anything, just wanted somewhere to dump things I come across.

First Saturday off in a while! Walked to the thrift shop near the post office- it’s basically a time capsule. They had a bin of VHS tapes for 25 cents each.

I grabbed a few just for the covers. Most are old commercials and home recordings.

Might try to digitize them someday if I can find the right cables.

Have you met any interesting people yet?

Not really yet, mostly people at work or the diner. Everyone’s nice enough, just… quiet. I get the feeling most folks here have known each other forever, so I’m still the new face.

The lady who runs the thrift shop did tell me I “have an explorer’s eye,” which I’m choosing to take as a compliment.

Took a short walk after work and found this weird old bench by the creek. The paint’s flaking off and someone carved “1997” into the side.

Feels like this town is full of leftovers. I kind of like it.

Figured I should make one of these since a few people already asked who I am (hi btw).

I work part-time at the local library and do freelance video editing on the side. I used to live in the city, but things got a little too expensive and loud, so… here I am.

> Hobbies?

Photography, thrifting, hiking, collecting old media (mostly VHS and cassette stuff), and watching old local TV broadcasts when I can find them.

> Why “fieldlog-93”?

Honestly, no deep reason- I just liked the sound of it. “Field log” because this is kind of like a record of what I find, and 93 because it’s my birth year.

> Why Marrow Creek?

The rent’s cheap and it’s quiet. Plus, there’s a ton of history here, old factories, half-collapsed houses, and that creepy radio tower up on the hill. (I mean that in a good way.)

> Any plans for the blog?

Mostly photos and notes, maybe short posts about interesting things I find around town. I’m not trying to make this into a “ghost hunting” blog or anything, I just like documenting stuff.
