“Certain Death” | Gundham & Claire
Claire had been on her daily jog when she had accidentally bumped into the stranger. Luckily for the both of them, she hadn’t been going as fast as she usually was- as she was in the process of her cool down- so their contact was not enough to make either of them fall. She hadn’t been hurt by the encounter, but the stranger seemed to have been jostled as he looked to be in a state of discomfort. At his question, Claire was quick to respond. “Ah, yes, I’m fine. Are you? I wasn’t watching where I was going I’m sorry!” She clasped her hands in front of her in apology.
Fine… that certainly wasn’t the answer Gundham had been expecting. It was some sort of relief, but it only raised more questions in his head. Perhaps the poison within him had faded with the years? Probably not. Maybe this woman was powerful enough to withstand it? Appearances could deceive after all.
“Of course I am unharmed. It will take more than that to fell the great Gundham Tanaka and his Four Dark Devas of Destruction!” he boasted. As if on cue, the hamsters appeared from his scarf and situated themselves on his shoulders. Remembering this woman was not a bad idea, though. “What is your name, human?”
"Well thats good that you weren't hurt! Ah-" She was incredibly surprised when hamsters crawled out of his scarf. "Woah!! You have hamsters? What cuties!! What are their names? Can I touch them?" There was no way better to make Claire happy than to let her pet animals. "Ah, my name is Claire! It's a pleasure to meet you, even though I kind of ran into you." She laughed nervously, Giving him an apologetic smile.
Claire’s energetic smile as also kind as the woman responded. She could easily tell that although Agnes had said she did not need help, she very clearly did, if the look on her face was any indication. “Are you sure? It would be no problem y'know!” She insisted, trying to convince the woman to let her help. Agnes in a way reminded her of a friend she had had in the Valley, refusing help even if she obviously needed it. It was an almost endearing trait, as long as it didn’t get her into trouble.
“…If it is not a burden..” Agnes slowly was changing her mind. She was really going to be a bother to her roommate if she couldn’t even get home. She was lucky that she even still had her key. Had she ever met someone so..overbearing before? It wasn’t exactly a bad thing. Especially since it was someone so kind. “If you would really like to assist me..then will you accompany me to the misty bay apartments?”
"Not at all!" Helping others was never a burden to her, she lived to help others. Claire was especially happy that Agnes gave in to let her help. It was to her surprise when Agnes asked for help back to her apartment complex- their apartment complex. "Of course! That's where I live actually!" She turned around, waving for Agnes to follow. "C'mon, it's this way."
“Agnes.” Claire’s smile became almost impossibly brighter as she tested the name. “It’s a pleasure to meet you as well!” Quickly, she pulled a handkerchief out if her pocket- something she had on her at all times for situations such as this- and wiped her hands clean of any possible perspiration before shaking Agnes’ hand. “You’re new here as well? How are you adjusting? Is there anything you need help with?” Already she wanted to help, it was such a large part of her being to help others that she spoke the words without any forethought.
How could one person ask so many questions at once? It took Agnes a second to process what she was saying. Had she ever met anyone with so much energy? It wasn’t a bad thing, but the Vestal surely wouldn’t be able to keep up. “Yes, I’m new here…I’m trying my best to adjust..” The last question was if she needed help which..she did. Still, she did not want to admit it. “And..no, I don’t need any help.” Sadly for her, it was very obvious that she was lying.

“Certain Death” | Gundham & Claire
Never had Gundham been so careless as he had been in that particular moment. There he stood, staring in what seemed to be an amalgamation of shock, disbelief, and worry at this woman who he had run into. Literally. He usually watched where he was walking very carefully to avoid this exact scenario, but somehow…
It was like she had come out of almost nowhere. Before he could process it, they had already collided. The surprise of it almost staggered Gundham and the recoil when he had realized what had happened was very noticeable.
The amount of physical contact that was made was not slight. So why wasn’t this woman dying? Dissolving into the air? Ceasing to exist by some supernatural means? Gundham forced composure onto himself.
“Are you… okay?” he asked, the question seeming normal to those around, but an extremely understated inquiry in Gundham’s mind.

Claire quickly caught up, not having even broken a sweat. Only the slightest out of breath, she replied.
“My name is Claire, hello! There’s nothing I need, no, I just wanted to introduce myself. I’m new here, you see!” She had an excited smile on her face, rocking on her heels with a positive restlessness.
Was this normal? To run up to a stranger like this? And with such a grin plastered onto her face! She had a seemingly limitless amount of energy.
“I..I’m also new to this place. My name is Agnes. Agnes Oblige.” She had meant to only give a first name, but her mouth moved faster than her mind and she had no time to stop herself. Being raised in the way she was led her to be very proper and polite, regardless of the situation. She held her hand out. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Claire.”

// @gxndham pls open ur ask box i hecked up
Agnes jumped slightly, for she had not expected anyone to address her. Still, there was no one else around, so she spun around wearing a puzzled expression. Lovely, a..crazy person. What was the matter with her, acting so wildly? However, the girl saw no reason to ignore her. It wasn’t as if she had anything to do, since she couldn’t get home.
“..Yes? Was there something you need..Miss…um..?”
Agnes was hopeless when it came to one thing: directions. Traveling on her own was a daily struggle, and she had quickly realized that she had absolutely no clue where she was. All she had wanted to do was take a quick walk, but somehow she ended up much further than she had intended to go. Where exactly was this? It was..somewhere..new? No, it was the town she lived in.
Having no companions meant no one to help you out or guide you. It was a lonely existence, but she was used to it. The real problem was..how exactly was she to supposed to find her way around if she couldn’t even get home? In reality, her place was just a block or two away, but she had no way of knowing that. Maybe it would be wise to ask someone?
No, involving others was unacceptable. Instead, she continued to wander around with a rather confused look on her face.
Claire had only been out for about three minutes before she saw someone on the same path as her. The person was quite a ways away from her, so she upped her pace to reach them sooner. With their back turned to her, Claire had to call out to get their attention.
“Excuse me!” Even with the person’s back still turned to her, she waved her arm frantically, as though doing so would help get their attention. What luck, she thought, to run across someone so soon!
The town was beautiful, a mix in her mind of Forget-Me-Not Valley and the city she had grown up in. Claire’s apartment, although empty save for her, was charming and spacious, something she hadn’t experienced in quite a long time.
The one thing she was lacking now, settling in, was friends. She hadn’t the chance yet to make any, and the lack of social interactions was leaving her restless. Not to mention the lack of physical activity she was so used to. That was the most pressing matter, so she decided to kill two birds with one stone and decided to go jogging.
It was a good way to get out and release pent up energy, and a fantastic way to meet new people. Claire was by no means a shy person, if someone crossed her path she was ready to introduce herself. With that in mind, she was out in the street and enjoying the exercise.
