Unforseen Disaster | Gundham & Agnes
It would be quite the stretch to say the she liked the animals. She didn’t exactly dislike them, but she had been rather indifferent until the one had located her. The small animal was so cute, she almost wished to pet it. Almost. How soft could Sun-D be? Eventually, she’d find out, right?
“..This is one of my first times in such a place..I never realized just how many items could be bought at a single store..” She was tempted to look around more, but she had grabbed some chocolate, which was enough for her. Besides, she had places she wanted to visit.
“Yes, I’m ready to leave.” As she said it, she noticed just how many people were around them. The sooner they left, the better. As she walked alongside Gundham to find a checkout aisle, she found herself being separated from him yet again. She wouldn’t let it happen this time! Without thinking, her arm extended and she took hold of her hand. Like this, she wouldn’t get lost again. Like this she would…be embarrassed due to her actions, but still not want to let go. What was she thinking?
“I-I..”
It didn’t escape Gundham’s notice that Agnes grabbed nothing more than a chocolate bar. Perhaps she had something of a sweet tooth? Regardless, she seemed very overwhelmed by the sheer size of the item selection in the store, which he couldn’t exactly fault her for. Gundham generally avoided places like this because they always had too many people wandering about for his liking.
He managed to find an open self-checkout station and almost sighed in relief. He began to slip his way through the crowd to get there, quickly wanting to get out. Maybe he should’ve been keeping an eye on Agnes, but by the time he had thought about it, he felt a hand reach out and grab his own. He saw that the hand had belonged to Agnes.
Immediately, the panic began to swell within him. What was she thinking?! Well, he had never told her that touching him would bring certain death upon those who were not strong enough to handle his poisonous body. But wasn’t it sort of obvious that his existence was one filled with catastrophe? Who in their right mind would touch him willingly?
“...” Gundham racked his mind for a few moments, unsure of what to say and also waiting for a reaction from Agnes. She seemed embarrassed at most, but she wasn’t as... dead as he was expecting. “Y-you...” he stammered out, still trying to gather his thoughts as words. “You’re able to withstand being in contact with such a toxic being for such a length of time?!” He was shocked to say the least. “Are your internal organs not ceasing to function?” Maybe she was powerful enough to handle it.
Leliana
Leliana: Has anyone who used to be close to you betrayed you?
“I have not let anyone close enough to betray me! Although if I had, and for some reason they decided that crossing me was a good idea, I would have put them in the ground by now.”
Morrigan, Warden
Warden: Have you ever been given an important task you thought was too much for you?
“What a foolish question... of course not! Although some tasks proved to be more... challenging than others. Taming a rather aggressive serpent with fully functional poison glands and a lightning fast strike, for example.”
Morrigan: Describe a friendship with someone you didn't think you would befriend.
“Well, I would rather use the term ‘ally’ to ‘friend’ but all of the bonds I have formed thus far have come as a surprise to me. I do not need people at my side, and yet...” Gundham leaves it at that. “I prefer the company of demon beasts.” Nice save.

“Again, negative. There is no reference to you in any of the books I have read. As for your statements, I believe it is correct in assuming you have never witnessed Shizuo-senpai’s strength. Despite being human, he is super human. Stronger than even the Headless Rider.”
"History books do not need to record my life. Such a thing is too atrocious to keep record of."
"A headless rider, you say? I've never seen such a being before... However, I'm certain my prowess would prove superior to it."
Unforseen Disaster | Gundham & Agnes
In truth, she was still a bit frightened from the scare of being lost in an unfamiliar area, and her face reflected that. Still, she was glad to see him! If she had gotten any further in the crowd, there was a chance that would have not ever returned. At least, not on her own. He really had some talented companions!
As she was told exactly who it was that located her, she found herself staring at the small animal perched on his shoulder. “..She’s very cute. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sun-D.” Maybe they weren’t so terrifying after all? She could definitely get used to them with time.
“That is for the best. Let it be so.” Anything to make sure that they stick together. She was not used to being in such crowded areas, but maybe that was because she didn’t like them in the first place. It was amazing just how many people were gathered. “..Do many people often travel at this time of day? I’ve never seen so many people gathered in one place.”
Chuu! Sun-D made a very happy noise as Gundham was a bit off-guard by yet another compliment. Sun-D settled on Gundham’s shoulder closest to Agnes, probably feeling a sense of pride as the one who found Agnes first.
Gundham heard Agnes’s question and thought about it for a moment, although he couldn’t come up with a definite answer. “I am not certain. I myself do not venture into crowded locations until shortly before nightfall. Although that does not always mean the result is different...” he explained, murmuring the last part. As he passed by the pet section, Gundham picked up some supplies for his hamsters’ bedding back home. After all, he didn’t exactly sleep in his scarf, so his hamsters had to rest elsewhere.
“I believe I have everything I require from this place,” Gundham said. “Is there anything in particular you must obtain before we depart and venture elsewhere?”
Unlucky Circumstances | Gundham & Nagito
One moment, the day had been peaceful. The sky overhead stretched clear and blue and the city moved as it was wont, with the usual comfortable hustle and bustle of people moving about their lives. There was even pleasant little breeze moving through. But of course that couldn’t last. It could never last. The next moment, Nagito Komaeda found himself sprawling to the ground rather abruptly, a winded “Oof!” pushed from his lungs the instant he made contact with the hard pavement. The world fell silent, drowned out by the sharp ringing suddenly occupying his ears, as the hapless victim lay there, too shocked to move.
Other sounds quickly began to pierce through the haze as the ringing diminished, and he opened his eyes, blinking until the blurred vision he was met with focused into a clearer picture. It seemed that a small crowd had gathered around the scene, murmuring amongst themselves, though none stepped forward. Regardless, Nagito managed to sit up. The abrupt movement sent pain lancing through his right side, into his chest, making him suck in his breath. Looking down, he could see blood already soaking through his shirt. It was bleeding, but the wound seemed to be fairly shallow. He might not even need to get it stitched up, if he was lucky. And… wasn’t he? Well, he was supposed to be, at least, though it so often seemed to be the opposite.
Just what had happened, anyway? The road had been as clear as the sky before he’d started crossing, he had made sure to check. Hadn’t he? Actually, as he tried to recall the events leading up to now, he found his memory blurry and hard to distinguish. How hard had he hit his head in the fall? Regardless, those were definitely tire tracks he saw, giving off the stench of burnt rubber, though the car that had left them was long gone from the site, it seemed.
He didn’t have much time to dwell on it, however, before a familiar, scarf-clad figure sauntered into view among the dispersing crowd. Without a doubt, Gundham Tanaka. But what was someone like him doing here in the first place? What a strange, somewhat unsettling turn of events.
“It seems I’m fine,” he responded, and moved to finally rise to his feet again. He staggered slightly as the movement wrought pain anew, making him feel momentarily light-headed. “Actually, I wasn’t even hit directly. It looks like the car swerved to avoid me, so I was really only grazed, isn’t that lucky?” With how hard the car had hit him with just a graze, if he had been hit dead-on, chances were that Nagito wouldn’t be breathing. But could something like this really be considered good luck? He was still alive, but… Well, it was a hard distinction to draw sometimes.
“I’m surprised, though. To think that someone like you, the Ultimate Breeder, would show up here, of all places! How… strange. I thought I’d left you all behind when I came here, but you’re standing right here anyways. Is this bad luck?”
It made sense that the car had swerved to miss Nagito, now that Gundham actually considered the scene. The tires squealing could’ve been the driver hitting the brakes simultaneously. He glanced over Nagito once more, trying to assess the visible injuries. Definitely wasn’t hit head-on, that much was true. Must not have been going too quickly either.
“That... is unnatural luck,” Gundham confirmed. Not the first time something like this had happened, of course. Nagito was a strange magnet for these sort of occurrences and had a strange knack of surviving them. That fact alone made Gundham a bit apprehensive about being around him for extended periods of time, though. Not to mention that Gundham got a very... strange vibe from Nagito’s demeanor.
“I assumed I was rid of you fiends, as well,” Gundham said half-heartedly. “But of course this is misfortune! To run into someone as atrocious as I, Gundham Tanaka, is a tragedy in every sense of the word! Although...” he trailed off as he watched Nagito try unsteadily to maintain his balance. “...are you certain you should be standing? You must require medical attention after such an incident.”

Unforseen Disaster | Gundham & Agnes
Agnes was hopelessly lost. She wished that they had chosen a place to meet if someone got lost, but she wouldn’t have been able to find it even in that case. Perhaps she should have just stayed home. The last thing she had wanted was the bother him, and yet..
As she considered her options, she saw something through the crowd. A scarf? And those hamsters too..so it was him! A wave a relief sweep over her. If she were to get lost again, there was no way he’d locate her again. She’d have to apologize properly. Maybe if she kept one of the hamsters with her she could properly navigate, but she was not about to make such a request to the man.
“I apologize for my carelessness! I can assure you that I will try my best to let it not happen again.”
Gundham let his eyes roam the specific area where Sun-D seemed to have found Agnes. It actually didn’t take too long for him to find her making her own way towards him from the crowd. He let a sigh of relief leave him. Seriously, leaving his own roommate at the supermarket wasn’t something he wanted to do.
“I see no reason to apologize,” he intoned. “You can thank Sun-D, however. She is the one who found you first.” The orange and white hamster seemed to almost glow with pride. “I was hoping to arrive before all of these humans, but it seems as though they had the same idea.”
Hurrying might have been best; Gundham didn’t want to stay in a crowded area any longer than he had to, not to mention the risk of losing sight of Agnes again. Actually, now that he was thinking about it... “Perhaps we could reconvene near the entrance if one of us were to lose our way again?”
“Negative. I refute the statement you have given. It is simply impossible. For that matter, I have no knowledge of any Supreme Overlord of Ice. The only similar term that comes to mind is the Czar of my home country. In any case, the chances of you being stronger than Shizuo-senpai are nil.”
“No knowledge? Fuhahahaha! Surely you jest! It is a very slim chance that you’ve never heard of my prowess! And I’ve already told you: I am stronger than all! A cursed being like myself must be!”
“Certain Death” | Gundham & Claire
“Well thats good that you weren’t hurt! Ah-” She was incredibly surprised when hamsters crawled out of his scarf. “Woah!! You have hamsters? What cuties!! What are their names? Can I touch them?” There was no way better to make Claire happy than to let her pet animals. “Ah, my name is Claire! It’s a pleasure to meet you, even though I kind of ran into you.” She laughed nervously, Giving him an apologetic smile.
There was that word again. Cute.
No matter how many times he heard it, Gundham couldn’t get used to the compliment and tugged his scarf upwards over his face. “You show such interest in them. Thank you,” he muttered. After a moment, he shook his head slightly, gaining composure yet again. “They are my Four Dark Devas of Destruction: Sun-D, Jum-P, Cham-P, and Maga-Z!” Gundham introduced boisterously, each small rodent reacting in turn to its name. “Touch them if you must, Lady Claire, but do so at your own risk.” They wouldn’t bite unless commanded to, of course, but it’s not like Gundham was about to let them seem any less fearsome than he made them out to be in his own mind.
“I declare that to be nonsense. Please give a proper answer.”
“That is a proper answer! You dare question the Supreme Overlord of Ice, Gundham Tanaka?!”
Unforseen Disaster | Gundham & Agnes
It had been less than a minute and she already was in a mess of people. She had only been able to mumble a ‘yes’ to him when he asked his question before she was swept away. The first downside to this was that she could not stand crowds. She was being pulled along with a flows of people before breaking away and getting lost with another group. How had this happened? One minute she was next to her roommate and the next..
“..Gundham?”
The first thing she would look for was his scarf. It would stand out to most to her. Sadly, she did not see it. Perhaps his hamsters would scurry over and find her? But in such a large group of people, surely they would get crushed. She would have to do this herself. She’d have to…
Gundham usually never resorted to it, but he eventually stood on his toes to try again to get a better view above the crowd of people. His eyes scanned over the crowd and he sighed in exasperation when he yet again didn’t see her. Maybe they should’ve come up with a meeting place on the off chance that this had happened.
Too late now, of course. “Go, Supernova Silver Fox Sun-D! Locate Agnes and report back,” he ordered, allowing the small orange and white hamster to quickly dash over to a higher vantage point. After several moment, the hamster rushed back to her master, chittering. “This way?” He set off into the crowd, following the directions provided to him by Sun-D.
Unforseen Disaster | Gundham & Agnes
Agnes went on ahead, thanking him for opening the door and stepping through. “I thank you, truly. I am ashamed to admit that in this new environment, I have trouble finding my way home.” It would have been fine, but she even got lost in areas she was used to. It was impossible for her to not get lost in most places. It was troublesome.
As they started to walk, he decided their first destination. The supermarket. A place while very convenient, was littered with people. But she had no reason to protest, as she had a few things to pick up. “Very well. We shall go there first then.
She tried not to walk too close to him, as she wasn’t used to being around men. Furthermore, he did not frighten her, but his energetic pets that rode on his shoulders happened to do just that. Despite her attempts to keep her distance, she found herself drifting closer without realizing it. If she moved too far, she would get lost among the many people who also were leaving to run their errands.
“Oh?” Gundham had to conceal a little amused grin. “I’ve noticed that you would arrive home during the hours of deep darkness. Is that why?” Well, technically, Gundham’s hamsters noticed, but that’s because their hearing surpassed his. He actually didn’t mind it at all.
Gundham slipped through the crowd carefully, trying his best not to bump shoulders with anyone by accident. That could be a disaster. He didn’t exactly need to look back before, but he had to ask Agnes if there was anything she needed. When he glanced over his shoulder...
...Agnes was gone.
He hadn’t the slightest idea where she had gotten to, but it concerned Gundham that he had managed to lose sight of an entire person. He tried to look above the crowd, but unfortunately, he didn’t see her right away. How did this even happen?
“Certain Death” | Gundham & Claire
Claire had been on her daily jog when she had accidentally bumped into the stranger. Luckily for the both of them, she hadn’t been going as fast as she usually was- as she was in the process of her cool down- so their contact was not enough to make either of them fall. She hadn’t been hurt by the encounter, but the stranger seemed to have been jostled as he looked to be in a state of discomfort. At his question, Claire was quick to respond. “Ah, yes, I’m fine. Are you? I wasn’t watching where I was going I’m sorry!” She clasped her hands in front of her in apology.
Fine... that certainly wasn't the answer Gundham had been expecting. It was some sort of relief, but it only raised more questions in his head. Perhaps the poison within him had faded with the years? Probably not. Maybe this woman was powerful enough to withstand it? Appearances could deceive after all.
"Of course I am unharmed. It will take more than that to fell the great Gundham Tanaka and his Four Dark Devas of Destruction!" he boasted. As if on cue, the hamsters appeared from his scarf and situated themselves on his shoulders. Remembering this woman was not a bad idea, though. "What is your name, human?"
Unforseen Disaster | Gundham & Agnes
Has she heard him correctly? She swiftly brushed herself off and straightened her back Accompany her? She didn’t want to be a bother considering she really only wanted to look around. If he had any certain errands he had to run, there was no way he’d get them done.
But if she were to go alone..there was no telling when she’d make it back. She was ashamed to admit that her sense of direction was hopeless. Everytime she went out, she came back late. She had hoped he hadn’t notice her stumble in late each night, but there was almost no way that he hadn’t noticed anything. As she thought of how to apologize for possibly disturbing him, she remembered that he had asked something.
“Unacceptable!..But if truly is not a burden..then I would like for you to accompany me. I only wish to become familiar with the area, so you may choose our destination.”
She wasn’t used to traveling..at all. Having so much freedom..was it really okay? She dearly missed her life in the temple, but this wasn’t too bad either. “We may depart now.”
Gundham was a bit confused when Agnes had yelled 'Unacceptable!' then followed it up with 'I would like for you to accompany me.' So was that a yes? He assumed so. After all, it was probably for the best.
For the first couple of nights, Gundham's hamsters chittered when Agnes had returned late, awoken by the noise at a strange time, but they had gotten used to it and settled down, luckily.
Gundham crossed over to the door and opened it, waiting for Agnes to step outside first. He closed and locked the door behind him.
"As for first locations..." he began, "perhaps the supermarket? It would do well to take care of the tasks at hand first." Truly, Gundham only needed to buy some things from the supermarket. That should leave plenty of time to explore other areas... right?
