Randomly thinking how Binan High was significantly rebuilt between Haikara and Love (which isn’t surprising – it’s been 100 years, some renovations had to happen at some point)…

And how ‘The Earth Defence club’ sign and the student council room seemed to initially be located in different parts of the building.

And then not only they both moved to the other places – but they moved to the rooms that were connected (just as a SC and a Defense Club seems to always have a connection to each other).

Oh, yeah, and the sign was remade - somewhere after the 1946 Japanese writing reform.

I’d like to think that some Defense Club that we don’t know anything about  yet was present at the time the school was rebuilt. They might be even be a reason why the renovation became inevitable in the first place – if they were not just a ‘doing nothing’ club, but one of those ‘doing nothing’ clubs who were also magical boys, some of the fights might be harsh enough to wretch a building that already required a renovation.

It was nice if that fight was the one that ended up with them befriending their respective student council. So once the renovation ended, that student council requested a room for themselves that had a utility room, and unofficially placed the boys from a Defense Club there – with another door to enter though, so the Defence Club wouldn’t bother them too much. Maybe these boys were also the ones to redo a sign, so it would corresponded to the modern writing system….though the ‘lol’ part could be added later by some other Defense Club that came later.

Once they all graduated, though, a new student council didn’t see a use in that utility room, so they blocked the door with a closet and didn’t think too much about it after. The school didn’t find a use in it either, aside from storing anything that wasn’t really needed there – and at some point a bookshelf blocked the door from the other side. Even if there were other Defence Club/Student Council friend groups later, and even if they looked at the building layout and went ‘hey, our rooms should be next to each other!’ – they didn’t know they are only separated by a single door.
