I've been a little inactive on this page for a while but here's one of the reasons why, so busy!
I've started bruising again after my trip to the states and have gotten this BEAUTIFUL bruise from practicing a double barrel roll on the silks! :D Mixed in with pole and acro bruises I think Fifi La Bruise needs to start back up again <3
FINALLY got a chance to practice on silks It's only been a month but man, it feels like a frikkin' year since I've done anything! Let's hope it's not another 2 weeks before I get to do more...
Rope burn to the max! Started playing the the Spanich Web ropes on the circus and MAN are they rough! A lot of that is due to the humidity over here too though
So I set up a new blog to follow my adventures in the circus!

Day 0, my arrival
I've arrived!!! I'm finally here!!! The wait is finally over!!! The nerves are not however... Arrived on lot, currently in Carteret New Jersey, a little after 2pm. I was actually sitting beside a lot of the girls who work and live in the circus! Heard them talking about the circus as we were entering the town and asked them if they would know where to get off as I was meant to go work with to to be greeted with the reply of "YOU'RE FIONA!" It seems everyone's been hearing about me and preparing for my visit which is a really odd feeling! Even one of the girls on the lot, I think her name was Dee Dee :s, had an Ireland t-shirt on! Not sure how coincidental that was though :p. It shall be fun trying to remember names! So far the circus life is still sugar coated, first place I was shown was where I was going to be living for the summer, had read in a previous email with Jim, the manager, that I would be in a trailer with 5 other people so had prepared myself for kind of a room of just bunk beds, instead, I've my own little room! (The trailer is broken down into separate compartments) Then I was brought on a mini tour of the backyard (Where the performers and trailers live) and the circus. The lot we're on is apparently different from normal so everything isn't quite where it should be so will be interesting the see how it changes! After the mini tour I got some time for myself, in which I ventured into the town, and then got to see my first show!! They have quite a few acts than what I;m used too, just when you think there's going to be an interval there's another act! They're aerial numbers are mainly static trapeze and web rope (Pretty sure it's like the corde lisse but I'll let you know when I get some training in!) I don't think they have any silks, which are my personal favourite, so I'm gonna miss them A LOT. Hopefully I'll earn up to get my own soon, just to ease the pain like. After the show I got a lift with the cook, who I totally have not just blanked on but I'm pretty sure it begins with a J.., to a Radio Shack to sort out my internet hot spot! Yay! And i got to pick up some comfort too, think I'll invest in earplugs tomorrow though I finished the night socializing with the guys in my trailer at the skate park beside us and am now all tucked up in my lil bed with my fox :) Tomorrow, 8am walk with the dogs, 11am Zumbaa and then my first full day! Let's see how this goes! Fi x (I would love to type more but I wanna go sleep yo <3 )
This time, next week, I'll be on the plane to new York getting ready to spend 3 and a half months with the circus :)
Sculpture piece is basically done, just need more rope :) Shall be doing a performance piece Tuesday the 14th of May, next Tuesday, in the Chocolate Factory Anyone in Dublin should pop in https://www.facebook.com/events/548289715214766/

Nose is fixed with a oh so fabulous nose splint I think getting it realigned was more painful than breaking it New mission, dressing it up for 21st tomorrow

Broke my nose doing some acro this week, I've loads of amazing bruises and rope burns from the Corde Lisse workshop I did recently but I think this badly lit photo of my little nose is a lot more exciting :) Getting it moved back into place this week will be fun!
I think tonight's pole was the best class all term On my very last go before we cooled down I finally did the frikkin' upsidedown move we've been trying and I might be a little rather buzzed :) If I can perfect my pirouette in ballet tomorrow then I think I few drinks shall be in order! :D
