I do think the Hank Green AI thing makes it abundantly clear that if you have ADHD or any other mental illness and/or you are prone to addiction you need to avoid AI at all costs. This shit will rope you in, and if you have a mental illness that say, starves your brain of dopamine, you're gonna be extra susceptible to that. I won't use AI for a lot of reasons but one of the big ones is knowing how it would fuck with my ADHD and bipolar. Like yes, it's bad for the environment and giving money to rich scumbags and runs on plagarism, but even more than all that, it's straight up not safe at all and you really shouldn't use it if for no other reason than to protect yourself from whatever the fuck it might do to you.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. AI (and it's marketing tactics) takes advantage of vulnerable people. Insecurities, loneliness, etc. Then it's easy to become reliant on it as a replacement of real things that can help (and as your brain changes in response to AI usage).

So if you're vulnerable in some way, you should stay away from it even more.

This is also why I don't believe in shaming people who fell for AI and stopped using it.

I will reiterate over and over again that chronically ill and disabled people have always existed. We have evidence Neanderthals took care of members of their community who became disabled after a serious injury or were born with disabilities like Down Syndrome. Yes, many more illnesses ‘just killed you’ before modern medicine but the lack of modern medicine meant there were even more people struggling with chronic ill health. Institutionalization and the stigma around discussing disabilities and illnesses is the reason you think there were fewer people with disabilities and chronic health concerns, not reality. Bad backs, bad lungs, bad stomachs, mobility issues, poor eyesight, poor hearing, countless other things that range from mild annoyances to serious life-limiting disabilities. We have always existed. Pretending like there was a time in history where a sizable portion of the human population wasn’t chronically ill or disabled is historical revisionism.

Something I think is awesome about Hilson’s dynamic (as far as I can tell after finishing S1) is that they’d have equal but opposite reactions to realizing they’re gay vs. realizing they’re in love with each other.
