"Oh-!"
"God, uh- I'm so sorry, sir, I- let me get those."
"--oh, wow, hi. Didn't notice you there, sorry. Are you, um- are you here for the job interview?"
ribbon-and-frill
"Welcome to Marcy's Magic, can I help you find anything?"

"--god, sorry, that was my fault, lemme get those."
Billy was surprised. He had only thought he’d heard something. He hadn’t been for sure.
"Hi."
"Um... this is gonna sound dumb, but would you happen to know where we are?"
"'cos I'm not gonna lie, I'm kinda lost."
"No problem, miss….?"
"Yeah, Stark tower. I kinda work there since uh, my dad’s Tony Stark. ANYWAY, we should keep moving, yeah?"
"Rowan. Yourself?"
"Yeah, I, um- you're Tony Stark's kid? Like, Iron Man Tony Stark? 'cos, I mean - that's pretty cool if you are."
[She just stares at her, breaking off after a minute to cross her arms. She’s totally not scared she’s said too much. Totally not.] “…nobody would believe you if you told.” [She mumbles, trying to keep her voice steady.]
[Okay, maybe she’s a little scared.]
"If I told what? Besides I have much to lose I am part of shield, or they like to believe that." Tia half chuckled. "But like I said I’m not on anyone’s side."
"That I'm-" [She cuts herself off, biting her lip. It'd be stupid to outright say it in public like this, but... She glances back up, locking gazes with the other before shifting her irises through the rainbow before settling back into brown.] "-like that. I can just do that again and run."
[She rubs her elbow, hesitating for a moment before-] "Don't tell S.H.I.E.L.D. Please."
"Oh, um - I don’t do anything cool like that. I work at my mom’s magic shop."
"Magic shop? What do you sell there?"
"Just the usual stuff you'd expect, I think. Charms and potions and stuff. I mean, they're not all magic, but I like to think we've got a nice science-magic mix going on."
"I guess just go." Amelia yawned.
"...right. Um. I- sorry? For, um.. for the inconvenience, or whatever. Sorry."
" - so you're really trying to tell me that the Avengers are better than the X-Men? Please."
"Well, I mean- all the mutants are supposed to be up in the camp at Xavier’s, right? But there’s not 198 there, and they know that’s how many are left. So they’d hunt down the rest, and they’d make them go there, whether they want to or not.” [She bites her lip, playing with the bottom button of her jacket.] “Some of them are kids. They’d get ripped away from their parents and tagged and stuff. And who knows what they’d do to them if they didn’t cooperate? I’m not - I don’t wanna think about it.”
"You sound like it may happen to you?" Tia asked with an eyebrow raised.
[She just stares at her, breaking off after a minute to cross her arms. She's totally not scared she's said too much. Totally not.] "...nobody would believe you if you told." [She mumbles, trying to keep her voice steady.]
[Okay, maybe she's a little scared.]
"I- yeah. She’s my mom and I’m a kid, I’m supposed to listen to her." [Her eyes dart up, wide like not listening to her mother was some crazy idea she’d never heard of.] “Well, he- I don’t either. But it’s better than registration.”
“How is it better then registration?” Tia inquiry.

[She’s back out in the hall an hour later, shifted far from either of the faces she’d worn in the car with a patch on her neck and a comm in her ear.] “Um..”
[She’s not really sure where the agent went, so she just waits, fidgeting by the door.]
After she finished a book and her coffee, she wandered back out and saw the girl standing there. “Oh. Hello.” She handed ber the bag back.
"Thank you," [she mumbles, slinging it over her shoulder.] "Um.. am I getting escorted home or can I just go? Or is there, like.. paperwork or something?"
"Sweet." [She smiles slightly, starting towards it with her hands in her pockets.] “So, um.. you’re a cop?”
"Of sorts," he nodded, he was a police scientist as they called him…He preferred the term CSI more though…"You? What do you do?"
"Oh, um - I don't do anything cool like that. I work at my mom's magic shop."

"—you look like that guy from TV."
"Which guy? Does he run fast? Because that’s not me"
"Um- yeah, sorry. Awkward. You probably get that a lot. Geez, I- sorry?"
"Starbucks on Richmond sound alright?"
"Sounds good," he nodded.
"Sweet." [She smiles slightly, starting towards it with her hands in her pockets.] "So, um.. you're a cop?"
Amelia sat on the counter in the break room near her desk. She hadn't used her desk in a year since she had been put on field duty.
