Okay don't come for me, I'm SO excited for Folklore, but I'm also a little sad Lover got cut so short. Like there were so many bangers that didn't get the attention they deserved! I really thought Cruel Summer was going to be a single and have a cute, fun music video 😭 idk I just with the Lover Era lasted a little longer!
Most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned on that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, folklore. Surprise 🤗Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears, and musings into. I wrote and recorded this music in isolation but got to collaborate with some musical heroes of mine; Aaron Dessner (who has co-written or produced 11 of the 16 songs), Bon Iver (who co-wrote and was kind enough to sing on one with me), William Bowery (who co-wrote two with me) and Jack Antonoff (who is basically musical family at this point). Engineered by Laura Sisk and Jon Low, mixed by Serban Ghenea & Jon Low. The album photos were shot by the amazing Beth Garrabrant. Before this year I probably would’ve overthought when to release this music at the ‘perfect’ time, but the times we’re living in keep reminding me that nothing is guaranteed. My gut is telling me that if you make something you love, you should just put it out into the world. That’s the side of uncertainty I can get on board with. Love you guys so much ♥️

This documentary is everything. The past 15 years of Fandom I have adored @taylorswift but also worried. As each year unfolded, new obstacles came up. Watching her reach fame, be America's Sweetheart, then watching the world turn on her has been such a ride. I constantly worried about her because what she has gone through is enough to make someone go crazy, but she has always handled everything with such grace and dignity. I'm so proud of her. And Im even more proud that the Taylor we see today and still reflective of the Taylor we saw 15+ years ago. She's grow and changed, but also managed to be the same and for that I will always stan ❤️❤️

I bought the Deluxe Edition of Lover today and as I was reading Taylors journal, I felt sad???? She has pictures of herself when she was 17 and 21 and she turns 30 this year. I was her fan when she was those ages.... Time is just flying by and it's making me so sad. It feels like just yesterday I was excited for the White Horse music video to drop and now here we are. It's beautiful and tragic all at the same time. I guess I'm having Never Grow Up feelings. Maybe because I've been Taylors fan since literally 2006. My life has been watching her grow up. I've watched her grow and change over the past 13 years, and it makes me sad she's getting older. Time needs to slow down. I guess I just need to make more out of each day and really appreciate everything.
Also, side note: I've always loved Taylor for her maturity, fearlessness, and intelligence but holy shit this journal really sheds more light on those characteristics. She's so amazing. I'm so flabbergasted by this women and everything she's done. I look up to her so much ❤
