FwA Rule #4
Have a look to COSO.org's ERM framework - the IA's primary reference in risk management.
FwA Rule #3
If you are sure that all risks are identified and under control you can ignore an auditor's recommendation.
Hint A:
However, be prepared to proof it to your company's governing body or update your CV.
FwA Rule #2
The one who knows the risks is you. As per IIA (www.theiia.org) risk is anything which hinders to reach an objectif.
Hint A:
Help the auditor to better understand the risks and he will love you!
Hint B:
If the auditor believes there is a risk and you don’t - take a break and think about. May be he is right. (See rule #1!)

FwA Rule #1
Audit has no decision power. The one who bears the risk is you.
Trendsetter in internal control and risk management frameworks. A must for internal Auditors.
Introduction
Internal auditors are human. No, they don't hate you - however sometimes they are wrong....
Important Notice:
The word 'wrong' in this context refers to the possibility that an auditor may - due to ignorance or arrogance - NOT follow international standards and guidance issued by the international auditors association, The IIA. All internal auditors are supposed to adhere to these standards. To ease access, the IIA actively promotes it's standards through local chapters worldwide. The recommendations presented under the "Fight with Audit' label are in no way linked to the IIA and are based on personal experiences.
