Grim knew she was due any moment at this point. It was far too late to back out anymore, and she hoped Valmont would stay. If not for her, then for the child. Even if he considered himself to be shoddy father material, which was somewhat true. She still believed in him, though, and possibly always would.
As the baby's birth became unavoidable Valmont became more and more nervous even if he tried, not really successfully, to hide it. All his attempts to ditch Grim failed, mostly because he didn't want to hurt her, and he started to resign himself to become a father. After all she only wanted him to be here while she would care for the child. That couldn't be that difficult, right?
🐺- Would your muse consider themselves a lone wolf or a social butterfly?
Valmont has the capacity to be a social butterfly: he has good people skills, knows how to entertain or convince people and can even be charming if he wants to be. However the trouble is he doesn't really like people. Also he is a bit too egotistical to care about others. Most of folks he knows are only tools to get what he wants and the few people he can stand sometimes annoy him. So Valmont sees himself more as a lone wolf but he's really proud of his skills of social butterfly.
“You’ve never killed someone just to see how it feels?”
Ratso stared at Valmont as if he had gotten insane.”N-No…Why?” He stammered.
filthyrich1:
“I was just wondering. Considering you are a convicted criminal it was a possibility. But that’s true murder is not really your area of expertise…” Valmont faked a grin. “Though finding your area of expertise is still to do.”
“Huh. actually, it’s mostly beatin’ people up, breakin’ a few limbs. Y’know? That kind of stuff.” Ratso indicated as he scratched the back of his head. He surely wasn’t one of his enforcers for standing around like an idiot.
“What about you? Would you do that?” He dared asking.
"Yes of course. I tend to forget I hired you to harm people since you seem so keen to show how good you are at getting your own ass kicked." Valmont kept a smile on his face as he said that but the undertone behind his words couldn't hide his disappointement. However he didn't linger over Ratso's skills at fighting, his mind already focused on the memory of his first murder.
"I did it when I was younger. Well not so young after all, I was in my late twenties. I wanted to see how far I could go in my criminal path." The crime boss shrugged, staring at Ratso with a remorsless look. "It's quite difficult to become a crime boss if you can't stand guilt. Or if you faint because of some spilled blood. I needed to know if I could handle it."
((It’s seems that the symbols don’t appear in my askbox. Can you send the questions if you want to send me ask? Thanks))

"Hello it's Valmont. I hope you got abducted or something. Otherwise I would be really disappointed to learn that I was left alone so long because my Mun simply forgot about me."
((Ahem... Sorry ^^"))
"Yeah you’d better be sorry!"
Words to replace said, except this actually helps
I got pretty fed up with looking for words to replace said because they weren’t sorted in a way I could easily use/find them for the right time. So I did some myself.

(( Hi! Just a message to give some news in case some people wonder what happened to me and because I miss you guys. I hope you are fine you all.
I'm fine but I work all the week so I've less time/motivation to go on computer during free time. But I'm not here anymore mostly because I still don't have a web access at my home because I'm a stupid procrastinating girl so I didn't subscribe to one yet. It's starting to become an issue for a lot of things though. Also I fear that I've lost touch with people here and I'm starting to really miss you guys, though maybe people doesn't care?
Anyway I'll try to get web at home quickly, and in any case I'll be in holidays at my parents' house in two weeks more and less. So see you soon I hope. ))
Grim was debating whether or not to call Valmont. She always made sure not to risk their unborn child, going so far as to stop her chemistry and job. She couldn't risk losing anyone close to her. She sighed and quickly dialed the father's number and waited patiently for him to pick up.
After having found out about Grim’s pregnancy, Valmont stayed away from the small assassin. He didn’t really break up with her, but these past few weeks he stopped going to the places they usually visited and started avoiding her calls, pretexting he was too busy to spend time with her.
When he heard his smartphone ringing on the coffee table, he picked up the phone to answer it, only to stop when he noticed the name on the screen. Looking at the thing ringing in his hand, he pondered for a few seconds, wondering if he should really answer Grim’s call. His thumb stayed above the reject key until he let out a sigh and answered the call with an unconvinced “Hi…”
“No! I said I didn’t want a pink room.” He exclaimed with a simulated indignation. Crossing his arms on his green suit, Valmont grinned. “We will paint this room green. I love green.”
“Hmm… Maybe green and white or green and blue? Maybe green and yellow? Grim’s seen them work well, neither too contrasting nor too close to each other.” She still wanted two colors present in the room so that the child’s mind could be stimulated. She wanted to make sure they did the most they could to help the child’s mind grow.
"Green and white will look classy, it could be a good idea. Though white paint can be easily dirty so we'll have to be careful and not let the kid draw on the walls. I've heard kids like to that and..." Suddently stopping himself, Valmont winced. "Er... I'm overthinking about that kid, don't I?"

“All right. So you should ask next time. Besides you are right, finding out their sex would help to prepare the baby’s arrival. However I warn you: there’s no way I’ll let you paint the baby room in pink.” Valmont made a broad grin. “By the way do you prefer to have a girl or a boy?”
She chuckled softly before she shrugged. “Grim doesn’t particularly care. Either way, she will try to take care of them as best she can. As for the room, Grim’s been doing some research and apparently babies like colors that are vastly different, such as a room that is pink and blue. So she’ll be keeping that in mind when we start searching for paint.”

“Thanks.” Valmont grabbed the cup and took a sip of tea. His beverage was too hot but he needed something to do while he took some time for thought. Did he want to know? Admittedly, he was a bit curious about it. But in the same time finding out the sex of that baby would make them a concrete being while it was still an abstract thing growing in Grim’s uterus. Putting his cup down, he finally answered to her question: “Well… I know most of the parents want to know, but maybe you would like to be surprised? I don’t really have an opinion on the matter. So if you want to know you should ask next time, otherwise I can wait.” Valmont gazed at the pregnant woman. No he won’t get too involved in this subject. Though he hoped Grim wanted to know.
She thought for a few minutes, nodding when she finally came to a decision. “Grim wants to know. She thinks it will help in the long run, and it would be nice to know.” She didn’t want to upset Valmont, but she wanted this. He should have a say in things since it was his child as well. She wouldn’t deny him of that. Especially since it would be important to both him and the child. At least, that’s what she thought.
"All right. So you should ask next time. Besides you are right, finding out their sex would help to prepare the baby's arrival. However I warn you: there's no way I'll let you paint the baby room in pink." Valmont made a broad grin. "By the way do you prefer to have a girl or a boy?"
“You’re dragging toilet roll along with you…”
(( sorry for the lateness ^^" ))
"Pardon?" Valmont lowered his eyes and saw the piece of toilet roll stuck to his shoe. Rolling his eyes, he kneeled down to pull the toilet paper off and threw it away. As he got back on his feet, he glared at Ratso. "You could have mentioned it before."
"I'd like to offer moral support but I have questionable morals"
"Can someone please diffuse the sexual tension in here?"
"I’m a humble person, really. I’m actually much greater than I think I am."
"If I were writing a book about incompetence, you'd be in every chapter."
"I will always cherish the initial misconceptions I had about you."
"I didn’t lie, I just twisted the truth slightly."
"What's it like having a mind of pure filth?"
"I've never seen someone hold their head so high, while talking out of their ass"
"You think he's finally dead now?"
"To put it nicely, I hope you choke."
"If it wasn't for physics and law enforcement I'd be unstoppable."
"The difference between your opinions and mine is that mine are right."
"Why are you being a jerk? I was nice to you today!"
"See what being nice gets you?"

“Oh… Of course. On this point that’s a good thing you don’t have any sense of smell. I guess it will be really useful.” He couldn’t help a slight smirk. “Although, I’m not sure it will be that helpfull when you will make lovely little meals for our little monster. I think we should rely on jars of baby food. It’s not that I want to critizice your culinary skills but…” Valmont shrugged in a fake sheepish way, doing his best to not laugh as he remembered Grim’s cake. Glancing at the teapot to hide his amusement, he added: "By the way, I think the tea is ready now.“
“Don’t remind Grim,” she chuckled. She went to the tea and poured a cup for her and a cup for him. “So… Do you want to find out the sex next time Grim goes in? She heard that was an option, but she was hesitant to do it.” She was interested in knowing, but she wanted his input now that he was going to be there. It would certainly help with naming them.
"Thanks." Valmont grabbed the cup and took a sip of tea. His beverage was too hot but he needed something to do while he took some time for thought. Did he want to know?
