GUYS YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW WONDERFUL THIS IS
Parkinson’s is a degenerative disease and while it’s progress can be slowed down, it currently doesn’t have a cure. People suffering from Parkinson’s will experience a gradual loss of coordination and ability to perform even the most basic of every day tasks, including feeding themselves.
This fucking spoon is HUGEfor them. Look at that gif of the man just trying to eat with the regular spoon and compare it to the liftware device. It’s NOT just a spoon, by the way, it comes with a fork as well, for example.
I found the website for the project where you can purchase a spoon for someone you know/love and even possibly donate money to help someone out who can’t afford it themselves right: HERE.
At the very least, please spread this for all the people who have Parkinson’s or loved ones with Parkinson’s.
You’ll help them take part of their life back.
that’s cool
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAKING OUT THE ABOVE INFORMATION AND JUST REBLOGGING THE PICTURE. IF YOU CAN REBLOG THE PICTURE, YOU CAN REBLOG THE LINK TO ACTUALLY HELP PEOPLE. THANKS.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE Let’s say it’s 6.15pm and you’re going home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself..!! NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE… Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can perhaps buy precious time to get themselves to a phone and dial 911. WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SLICE THEIR PALM TO GET BLOOD. do you know how many nerve endings are in your hand?!?! why don’t they ever cut the back of their arm or their leg or something omfg
me everytime a character in a movie has to get a few drops of their blood for some ritual bullshit (via jtoday)
WHILE WE’RE AT IT, why do people try to cross those skinny bridges over lava/chasms/whatever by walking upright. IT’S CALLED CENTER OF GRAVITY. get on your hands and knees and crawl across that thing. HUG IT. SCOOT YOUR BUTT ACROSS. “but i look stupid!” lalalala but we’ll avoid that ~dramatic moment~ where you almost fall over and die because your damn fucking self wanted to look COOL

yes, mr. action hero, I am aware that running dramatically from the baddies at breakneck speed is important, but know what else is important? NOT GETTING SHOT. RUN IN A FUCKING ZIGZAG PATTERN ON THE OFF CHANCE THAT THE MOOKS WERE NOT COACHED IN MARKSMANSHIP BY THE IMPERIAL STORMTROOPERS.

Oh, hey, you there, sneaky hero-type breaking into any place for any reason? WEAR SOME FUCKING GLOVES. They’re called fingerprints, dumbass. You have them and you’re putting them all over the fucking place.

DO NOT for the LOVE of GOD, put your finger in whatever substance and PUT IT IN YOUR MOUTH, no one does this at crime scenes.

Not the stuff of sci-fi satire. This is a real finding from a real study: Female-named hurricanes kill more than male hurricanes because people don’t respect them.
”’[Our] model suggests that changing a severe hurricane’s name from Charley … to Eloise … could nearly triple its death toll,’ the study says.”
Oh my fucking god
“Female-named storms have historically killed more because people neither consider them as risky nor take the same precautions, the study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences concludes.
Researchers at the University of Illinois and Arizona State University examined six decades of hurricane death rates according to gender, spanning 1950 and 2012. Of the 47 most damaging hurricanes, the female-named hurricanes produced an average of 45 deaths compared to 23 deaths in male-named storms, or almost double the number of fatalities. (The study excluded Katrina and Audrey, outlier storms that would skew the model).
The difference in death rates between genders was even more pronounced when comparing strongly masculine names versus strongly feminine ones.”
Addtionally
Respondents predicted male hurricanes to be more intense the female hurricanes in one exercise. In another exercise, the hurricane sex affected how respondents said they would prepare for a hurricane.
Like holy shit.
how this scene should have gone
#can we please discuss the fact that this movie was made by Americans
#some of us might actually be self-aware
Nobody has to deal with americans more than other americans.
I am an american and I can verify that this is indeed true.
#everyone else gets to be annoyed by Americans from afar #while Americans have to be annoyed by other Americans loudly and up close
In a multijurisdictional raid in Habersham County police barged into the home of Wanis Thometheva at 3:00 am.
During the raid one of the uniformed men, tasked with caging people for possession of substances the state deems illegal, threw a stun grenade into the crib of a 19 month old baby.
Alecia Phonesavanh, the mother of the 19-month old, was staying at her sister-in-law’s home when cops smashed in.
“It’s my baby. He’s only a baby. He didn’t deserve any of this,” Phonesavanh said. ”It landed in his playpen and exploded on his pillow right in his face.”
(x)
To my knowledge, this family is without insurance and currently staying with friends and family after they lost their home to fire. Now, their 19-month-old son is in the hospital in critical condition, with severe burns to his face and struggling to breathe, because of carelessness and brutality on the part of the Habersham County police force.
This family was barged in on in the middle of the night by the very people who are supposed to protect them, and a child was horribly injured. All in the name of the “War on Drugs.” In their overzealous quest to stop a single man from selling drugs, they completely disregarded the safety of all other individuals in the house, several of whom were small children and none of whom had anything to do with selling drugs. This is completely unacceptable.
Please, if you can, donate to help this family pay for their child’s surgeries. And even if you can’t, please contact the Habersham County Sheriff’s office and express to them that this is NOT acceptable behavior. It might not hurt to suggest, too, that maybe they should be paying for Baby Bou’s medical bills.
If you cannot do anything else, please at least signal boost the hell out of this.
Obviously you all don’t know the whole story and are severely misinformed. The parents were meth heads. They were busted in a no-knock raid, after investigating for weeks. The baby’s crib was put in front of the door before the police arrived. With the door being blocked, and the fear that a possible ambush was on the other side, the unit did what they were trained to do: they threw in a flash in attempts to subdue the possibly armed dealers on the other fucking side.
It was horrible yes, but if could have been avoided if the parents, who are full and well to blame for this event, weren’t dealing with meth.
The officers involved did the right thing, and you all need to stop using an injured child as an excuse for your hate tirades.
These police officers aren’t bad people and everyone should stop talking about them like they are.
They may be nice people but they had a job to do and their irresponsibility resulted in the critical injury of an infant You don’t shrug that kind of thing off just because the cops are “good people.” However “good” they are as people (and I wonder how much first hand experience you’ve had with Habersham cops…I can assure you not all of them are good people), they were not good cops that night.
(Still waiting on a source for all those allegations up there other than the poster’s word on it.)
Here's a source for you.
Since I live IN HABERSHAM and have grown up here and the place where I worked BURNED DOWN three months ago, I can tell you that I have had PLENTY of first-hand experience with the Habersham police.
The injury of that little boy was a terrible thing and very unfortunate for the parents, and everyone in the county is hoping for his recovery. No one is shrugging off the danger to his life. Whatever happened that night, the ultimate problem is how ANY police are supposed to respond to people who are using drugs. The problem is that this backwoods county is riddled with people who need help with their addictions.
Just because this is the only piece of news to surface from this godforsaken county is no reason to sensationalize it with hate.
