stop shitting on people because something they enjoy isn’t deemed ‘good’ by your own standards.

films/books/tv shows/music can be ‘bad’ from an artistic standpoint and still be enjoyed. they can also be ‘good’ from a creative aspect and not be enjoyed all the same.

you don’t think mamma mia is a good movie? cool, that’s awesome, but don’t shit on me for loving it. you enjoy game of thrones? sick, i’m glad for you man, but don’t come for me because i don’t like it. the twilight films are arguably badly made films from a filmmaking perspective, but that doesn’t mean it’s a crime to enjoy them! it follows is arguably one of the best-made horror films of the 2010s and guess what? it’s not a crime to not like it! it’s perfectly fine to like or dislike something based on your enjoyment of them.

i’m sick of this mentality of if something isn’t ‘good’ it must be destroyed and torn down and anyone who likes it is wrong or stupid or ‘doesn’t understand movies’. i don’t care if you think these ‘bad’ books or these ‘bad’ films are ruining the integrity of those fields or whatever, i had a good time watching my dumb young adult dystopian thriller, so shut up about the ‘quality of entertainment’ getting worse. by all means, tell me why you didn’t like them, it’s good to have conversations like that, but stop shitting on people who enjoyed watching a fucking movie that was made for entertainment.
