Unfortunately our erotic Cruz/Aaliyah beach fic doesn’t exist (that I know of) - but we do have a ton of other quality ones!

On Ao3 there are a ton of “fix-it” fics, my faves being we’d still worship this love (even if it’s a false god) by hedalisa or Let’s Not Get Caught / Let’s Keep Goin’ by I_Like_Turkey.

There are also a bunch of bodyguard fics that is so good for this pairing, I’m just waiting to see which ones have the legs to finish the AUs.

My current unhinged theory on how Cruz and Aaliyah can stay relevant in Season 2 is that Cruz didn’t actually kill Aaliyah’s father, it was someone else.

MY EVIDENCE YOUR HONOR:

1) Earlier in the episode, Aaliyah mentioned to Zara/Cruz that her father was a “very serious” man. “You’ve met my mother? She’s the loud one.” The man Cruz encounters in the kitchen is friendly and charismatic.

2) The Lioness team never got visuals on Amrohi, they only went off of what Cruz told them. Where did she get confirmation??

3) ESPECIALLY because while Cruz asks for an extra bottle of water for “your daughter”, he never actually calls Aaliyah his daughter.

She could’ve just assumed!! He’s just a man! Even Ehsan’s final words were just “Marine!” Nothing about “get away from her” or anything.

In conclusion, your honor, I don’t believe Cruz killed the right man and Aaliyah can still be relevant in season 2.

Late to the party, but absolute kudos to HBO’s The Last of Us. The television academy did a lot of things right in awarding a whooping 24 nominations for the show, like that’s incredible!! On par with award-season darling Sucession!! Yay Bella and Pedro!!

But I think its biggest miss is not awarding Nico Parker’s show-defining portrayal of Sarah.

If the viewer doesn’t believe in the relationship between Sarah and Joel, it can’t work. Nothing will land, you won’t believe Joel’s future choices. And Nico absolutely nailed it.

I’ll celebrate TLOUs nominations today and tomorrow, but let’s not forget this performance.

I’ve watched Maya & Carina since the beginning of their relationship, but something about this second half of the season is hittin’ different.

Like I don’t think we realize how good we got it this season. So much romance, angst, communication, real-life stakes and emotions. Like I’ve never been obsessed with them but now I kinda low key am.

Thank goodness it’s already been renewed!
