Adding to this Dean made the rings himself and had to use his blood to carve the runes on the inside of the rings. Claire got Dean's ring and Jack got Cas's and when people ask about them they always say that it's like having a piece of both their dads with them always 😭

Do you ever think about how Dean always needed Sam to be the reliable little brother and the one he always had to protect. For his dad to be a dick and take out his anger on him and not Sam. The way Dean NEEDED this because it was the only permanent thing in his life and the only thing that never changed.

And then it did and Dean had nothing secure, nothing that never changed. Nothing to anchor him.

And then he met Cas.
