all i’m getting on my fyp right now is cortis videos from their tour and everyone and their mama is arguing about the no-phone policy

and to be honest, everyone defending the excessive phone use saying “why shouldn’t we record if we paid for the experience? we deserve to walk away with something” is missing the entire point.

from the beginning, cortis has been about authenticity. they explained that their attraction to vintage aesthetics and such is based in a desire to move away from the fakeness and manufactured qualities of today. hence, the tour (quite literally named) “put your phones down.”

if you don’t get hours of video footage from their concert, you are still not walking away with ‘nothing. you went to a concert that so many people wanted to be at, and you are leaving with the memory that you went. that’s a privilege. years ago, people didn’t have the technology to record an entire concert themselves. they just went to support a band and enjoy their music, which again, is the entire message cortis is trying to push.

and to be honest, the reasoning is weak for even simpler points than that. “if i payed—” exactly. you paid for a ticket to a tour called put your phones down, and you’re wondering why the artist (a group of teenage boys, btw) is asking you to put your phone down???

if you think and act so disrespectfully and entitled towards cortis, how can you call yourself coer?
