The marine was at the port smoking and in his own way dicking around when someone was brought in, he recognized the person and was displeased in the fact they brought him to this small headquarters before they transferred to the main ship. It was a temporary gig and luckily for him there weren’t any video security den mushi in the area. When the guards weren’t looking he swung a bat to the back of the head’s of the marines in charge of watching Ace.
At this point even with a cigarette in his mouth he rummaged for their keys and gestured to the raven haired man to come over. “ I need you to kick my ass or at least make it look like you did, don’t argue with me because if you do there won’t be another chance like this kid. And unless you want to use one of the marines as a hostage no one will let you pass freely.”

» He would have reasoned - or at least asked questions. But the man in front of him was right. He was damn right. A chance like this would never happen again and for Luffy’s sake - he wasn’t supposed to go down like this. He promised to stay alive. And this was his only chance to leave, to get out of this hopeless situation.
His heart was racing in his throat when the fire took his body in an almost grotesque way but it didn’t hurt for him. Not even slightly and his was beating faster in his chest when he acted by instinct when he beat down the man. His chest was moving heavily as he stared down at him - a quick glance over his shoulder showed the other marines unconscious on the ground. “Why?”, he asked or more likely - growled.
