Another very profound quote from Leo. I feel like this quote really applies to a great many characters and people. Not so much me, but characters and people nonetheless. Like all the comic relief characters in comics (like Hawkeye):

i just want you to know that i am living proof that you cannot "tell" someone's AGAB just by looking at them or looking at the labels they identify with and making an assumption. most folks who get super pissed off at me come into my DMs talking to me like I'm AFAB- it's a huge assumption to make, and it's a completely incorrect one. I was not assigned female at birth, i was assigned male, and forced into "corrective" procedures done clear up until my teen years where i was forced on estrogen HRT to "fix" my high testosterone.

i'm not AFAB because I'm a trans man. I'm not AMAB because I'm a trans woman. i'm an intersex person with a deeply complicated and complex relationship with gender that cannot be understood by anyone but myself. you cannot look at a stranger's body and go "oh an hourglass figure, that makes you AFAB" "oh broad chest and shoulders you must be AMAB" "oh you have large breasts you have to be AFAB" "oh you have big muscles you must be AMAB"

no. I'm neither- I'm intersex. there are really, truly people out there with mixed traits. even before I started T, i was constantly getting my gender mixed up and confused by strangers, referred to as "sir" by one person and "ma'am" the next. i've had to transition into gender, itself. you can never discern someone's AGAB just by looking at them or the terms they use.

I would really appreciate it if we could all stop making jokes that portray JK Rowling as the unfortunate victim of mold-poisoned brainrot or some sort of possessed-vessel Poe protagonist and realize that:

a) not how mold poisoning works. having a house full of mold doesn't turn you into a caricature of hatred and bigotry.

b) she's a fucking multi-millionaire author she doesn't even need to worry about shining her own shoes she definitely has people who clean her home who would have noticed and hired a contractor for mold without her batting an eyelash

c) she's been this way. this is the part that really irritates me because it shows that people still want to believe that the HP series is somehow free of her vitriol and that she "changed" or "got worse" after the fact but she has always been this way. Every character in that series is a grotesque work of stereotype. Her world-building is malicious and bigoted and she only became famous because she panders to a sort of fantastical european pastoralism and nostalgia and her policies have always reflected what an awful person she is.

JK Rowling isn't some innocent Woman VictimTM who Turned To Evil But Can Be Redeemed she's a fucking ringleader for a global hate movement that wants me and everyone I care about dead in the ground
