queued suggestions from #wishlist-and-ideas, 3/?

this was attached to my post about event minigames... hidden collectibles and achievements throughout the world! to reward new and old players alike for exploring and trying new things :)

eg. hidden in various ponds are black boats

finding and interacting with all of them will unlock a message boat hat/hairpin!

using the 'pray' emote at the fallen bird statue outside citadel could unlock a special extra level to the pray emote, summoning birds to flying around you

knocking over enough crabs will unlock a crab hat or maybe a prop

ascending every (non-seasonal) spirit at least once unlocks the default pants again.. but blue this time (like a spirit) (spooky!)

burning enough darkness could unlock a darkness hat/hairpin (or, at a Really high amount, even a cape? but that could be a seasonal cosmetic tbh)

i think the t2 capes and dress being added as just more shop items, missed an opportunity for new cosmetics to be exciting to explore and look for

"Accessibility" ruins aesthetics

ill be honest, if creating or modifying something to be accessible and fit into an aesthetic at the same time is so demanding of a creative exercise for you, youre not a good designer. its possible near 100% of the time to make something look good and be accessible with little to no sacrifices to your vision- it just takes a little bit of god damn effort and imagination. sometimes its even as simple as listening to the disabled people who need it.

why are they locking an incredibly requested and necessary accesibility feature behind a limited time cosmetic?? why is it not just a toggle/setting

Bloom in Sky has always been an eyesore for players, both those with and without photosensitivities, and many players have been asking for a feature to toggle/reduce bloom to make the game more accessible to them.

And we finally get that!

In the form of a PREVIOUS, no longer available cosmetic until 8 more months only available for igc, Accesibility should not be cosmetic.

If they have the ability to give players the option to remove something for accessibility, it should not be restricted to a cosmetic, that many players probably do not have.

the tints are cute and can be sunglasses exclusives but theres gotta be smth better to give to the feast goggles instead of a desired accesibility feature, smth that everyone should have, my god

..... Okay, maybe I'm an idiot, but I really don't see the benefit from any of those except the Yeti Goggles? The other 3 are still really bright capes. And like.... I don't know how much help it'd be with the flashing effects? Honestly they just need to make the yeti goggles filter like a permanent option so I stop going blind in Orbit smh

And a fireworks toggle because somebody started shooting them off right next to me at Home earlier, and I don't usually have photosensitivity issues. Flashing lights typically don't bother me, but RIGHT next to my head?! Rude.

sorry for not making it clear since I used a photo with all 4, but yeti/feast goggles are the focus since the other 2 don’t remove bloom^^

And yeah the flashing is still a big concern for accessibility, even without bloom on top of that :( I’ve also requested a fireworks toggle, especially if people fire them off in closed spaces such as Grandma’s Table

The fact that this shows they 100% have the ability to add an important accessibility feature and just... don't unless they can make it ~cute~ is... ergh.

The DND spell has a similar issue where they force QOL features to fit into an ~aesthetic~ framework. Which is a long-running problem with the game (the friends 'constellation' being visually confusing with no list alternative that would compromise the aesthetics, quest instructions using prettier language instead of language new players can understand like calling mushrooms 'light blooms')
