🥀 Final Fusion vs Functional Multiplicity (+Dormancy/Integration) 🥀

Something that gets thrown around sometimes is "what is the best way to treat DID/OSDD?" In which there is 2 answers to: Final Fusion or Functional Multiplicity. Both of them are good and bad for differing reasons but it is ultimately up to the system and their therapist of what is best for them

However, some spaces try to state that Final Fusion is the only way, Functional Multiplicity is the only way, the other is bad, so on. It's gotten so bad that some healing words are banned from spaces. Dormancy and Integration are not bad words nor do I think they should be censored in online spaces

I think both are important to talk about and to give information about. In general there is so little research on DID/OSDD that finding good information is hard to come by. But censoring words within the healing journey will only cause problems in the future

This is genuinely the last post I am making on the "little" debate. I will no longer respond to anything on those posts or in my inbox. Any asks about it will be deleted

First of all: I am an adult with a life outside of this. I am also only one of two alters on this account (the rest of the system wants nothing to do with syscourse like this). You will not get timely replies from me. Syscourse is not my life, nor do I constantly think about it. I am also very demand avoidance. The more you push me for a reply or for something, I will not do it. I do not need 13 messages asking me to post something. Once is enough

Second of all: I empathize with those who messaged me about going through pedo trauma. I have been through some as well and so have others I have spoken to on both sides of the argument. It is part of the way I feel like I do. Do not assume people's traumas please

Third: I find it very amusing that some of the people who are defending the stance of allowing littles to look at porn/do adult activities actively support Maps/Pedophiles

Fourth: I am not telling you what to do with your system. It is merely my opinion that littles should not be allowed to engage in adult activities. You will do whatever you want. I will just remove myself from such areas as it makes me uncomfortable

Fifth: Yes, some littles are hosts. Yes, some littles hold memories. We have a little who holds many memories and a little as a system manager. Our little manager does not wish to be treated like a little, but we still protect them as much as we can from violence or sexual content. We cannot completely stop memories from getting to them, but while they are up we can stop them from being exposed to it

Once again: This is my final post on this topic. All current messages/asks will be deleted (nor will I read them outside of what I already have) and I will be making new posts outside of this topic

Littles do not function like literal children, especially in systems with low amnesia barriers. This is a known fact for those who work with dissociative disorders. You cannot police how other’s handle younger parts, you are not anyone’s therapist. Mind your damn business.

I am not a licensed therapist, yes. However this is a syscourse blog, I can state my opinion on the matter

I am not policing anything, I will not even attempt to. I can still state what I have multiple times already

Also, even within the therapeutic sphere there is much debate on that. Some places say to treat them like bodied children, others do not, some state there is nuance. I found some studies that prove my point and disprove it

Either way, I will continue to believe what I believe and you can continue to believe what you believe

🥀 Alter Age pt 2 🥀

As I am tired of typing the same shit over and over again. I am also not responding to the original post anymore, nor will I probably respond to this one unless I feel I absolutely need to

I know children/littles have autonomy. In general children have some autonomy in what they do. They can choose to read books, play in the dirt, play with toys, pretend to be grown ups. They can say no and mean it. They can tell people what they want and what they don't want

Also, telling me "Littles aren't children" over and over again isn't going to change my mind. Infact I did research on it and everything I found most recently published stated that child alter states are still children. Now, these child alter states can still do adult tasks for the body like taxes, driving, and such, but they are still children. They are stuck in a childlike state due to trauma at that specific age (typically)

Also yelling it at me will not get me to respond to you

Now, I understand that my wording came across as generalizing, which was not my intention. So for that, I will apologize

Everything within the system community has nuances. And if your therapist is working with you for healing reasons and told you to go for it, I cannot say anything against it. It is what your therapist says is right. I'm no therapist

However, in general I find it very weird and honestly pedophilic to allow children/littles to look at porn or be in a relationship with an adult alter which is what I meant by adult stuff

It is also really disrespectful to let littles enter spaces that specifically state no littles, which yes there are some

I don't have as strong of a reaction about drugs/alcohol for littles as some cultures do allow children to partake in that. There are some places that have no legal drinking minimum and others that have drinking limits as low as 13 with others as high as 25

And finally, I find it amusing how butthurt someone was about me calling them weird. You came onto my post. Yes, name calling is disrespectful and I will apologize, but weird is one of the lamest things to be called. It's good to be weird. I own the weird label

I also know that name calling in discourse spaces is rather normal too, so coming in with weaker skin will just get you eaten alive. Call me what you want. The only people's opinions that matter to me are the people closest to me

I will not step outside of my blog. I will respond to comments, questions, and reblogs on my posts but that is all. I will not come into your spaces to start shit. I will read and I will think, but I will not step out

Hey just an fyi, littles and child alters aren't the same thing. While child alters are littles, littles aren't necessarily child alter. Little is a community term for an alter that identifies as a being part of a very young age range. Child alter is a clinical term for an alter stuck in a specific age, frozen in trauma. While trauma can impact why a little is a little, they aren't necessarily vulnerable in the same way child alters are. As such, they can potentially more adult situations that a child alter would need to be shielded from.

🥀 Alter Ages 🥀

For the sake of this post Littles are 12-, Middles are 13-17, Adults are 18+, Ageless depends on their maturity level/look I guess?

Some people's definitions of these terms change, but this will be mine

We tend to go by body age first, then alter age. If your body is an adult you will be allowed into adult spaces, however we do not allow littles or middles in the adult spaces. They are children and we have adult content in those spaces

They are children and shouldn't be exposed to that sort of stuff, no matter how "mature" they are or what memories they hold in our opinion

If you're a minor bodied system you won't be allowed in bodily adult spaces as that is your body age, no matter if you have adult alters as you are again, a minor. Minors once again shouldn't be exposed to adult content

Littles/middles/minors shouldn't be in relationships with any adults, bodily or alter wise, and vice versa

However, we also know that some littles don't want to be treated like littles. We have some alters like that as well. But, not treating them like a little does not mean you should allow them to look at adult content or date adults. They just don't want to be babied like other littles may want to be and that is okay. You can talk to them like another person

We tend to continue to try and censor ourselves but it isn't always necessary

Just do be very careful in spaces with littles as some people will take advantage of this/them for these beliefs

Is this your system's rule for syskids in your system, that members are expected to adhere to and respect?

Or

Are you saying that every system should do this? Are you claiming a moral or protective failing of other systems who do not follow this kind behavior towards their syskids? That the way a syskid needs to heal should not be considered if it is an adult situation, like having a relationship or being sexual?

Because these are two very important distinctions

None of that was stated within my post. It is up to each system how they allow littles to interact with spheres and we know that

However, we do find it difficult to interact with systems who allow their littles to interact with adult content/areas especially when the space says no littles. Our view is littles are still children and children should not be exposed to adult spaces/content

I am not and will not call anything a moral failing of anyone as morality is very dependant on how you were raised and your view on the world

People also heal differently and outside of very extreme situations, I cannot speak on how someone heals. That is between them, their system, their therapist, and those close to them

I asked because it was not clear in your post and it felt very broad and that you were speaking to how other systems should behave.

The moral failing part was because it is common for people who say syskids should be treated as children to attack others for not treating them exactly like bodied children. It was a generalized question, geared up and ready to discuss such topics if that WAS something you believed. Sorry, I see how that looks like I was stating that was what you felt and not just a general question.

Also I agree, if a space says no syskids (even if that does not match the systems beliefs) the rules of that space should be adhered to. Ideally places would be willing to discuss allowances for the littles and syskids who are capable of handling adult content and know how to conduct themselves around adults who are wanting a place away from children instead of making a full ban. But, this is a nuanced situation that most moderators do not want to handle on top of their other duties.

But I also have a genuine question. I am curious how you can rationalize the differences in systems and healing and still hold the belief that syskids should not be allowed in adult spaces or view adult content? This is something we have a hard time grasping. To believe syskids *should* be treated a specific way directly contradicts the acceptance of systems being allowed their differences.

No, I do not think all syskids/littles should be treated completely like bodied children. There is some nuance to treating littles/syskids in general. Some do not wish to be treated like a child and that is completely okay. Sometimes that helps the little/syskid more than being treated like an actual child

It is truly up to the moderators of the server unfortunately as I mentioned in a comment. Each discord server ideals I have seen is no littles, littles are allowed in a very specific category/chat, littles are allowed outside of xyz categories/chats, and littles are allowed everywhere

I can rationalize it through the lenses of it being handled with a licensed professional. Should a doctor/therapist have okayed the action that is what is necessary for their healing journey I cannot say anything against it. I am not a licensed professional and will not claim to be one. Now in the wild (discord) I would be uncomfortable and probably leave the situation/block them for my own comfort/peace of mind

Systems have their differences, but there are still some similarities even found in studies. I cannot and do not even want to police what everyone does with their own system. I'm merely stating my own opinions on the matters that I have seen with my own values

i guess i am just curious, why/how do you draw the lines between adult stuff youve decided its ok for littles to do vs the stuff that is bad? bc in the same breath you acknowledge that littles can drive and children definitely under no circumstances should be allowed to do that irl. what about the nature of driving changes the morality here, though, other than the absence of sex? Is it just the Sex? what sets the sex apart from, like, hard drugs? or are hard drugs also bad and you're making some kind of distinction when you bring up culture/drinking ages? It's just difficult to glean a coherent philosophy without more information about which things littles are and are not allowed to do according to your worldview

I brought up that in specific studies that the child alters will drive and do taxes. I do not believe they should personally, but that is less extreme than hard drugs and sexual content

My hard lines are sexual content, romantic relationships, and hard drugs

Now, based on my culture kids shouldn't be doing any drugs, alcohol, partaking in sexual content, driving, doing taxes, holding down jobs, etc. However, that isn't how the entire world works and I can't and won't police people based on their own cultures and morals

I am not watering it down or muddling it down. I find it on the same level and will continue to treat it as such. If this were a site where blocking actually worked everyone commenting defending this shit would have been blocked a while ago

pedophilic????? for a grown adult body and brain to look at porn of adults???

This is not about the body age. This is about the age of the alter. I do not believe someone under the age of 18 should be exposed to porn, no matter if the body is over the age of 18. And especially for those adult bodies/alters wanting to be in romantic/sexual relationships with alters under the age of 18. I find that very pedophilic in nature, but again, that is my opinion
