I’ve seen asks for specific aspects of the Harlivy relationship, but are there any general DC headcanons you’d really like to share? I always like hearing your’s.
Ivy has a deeply nurturing, maternal nature that I think gets overshadowed by the flanderization of her distaste for man and mankind. Harley is just one of few people who draws that aspect of her out.
Harley's "dumb blonde" persona is as much fact as it is fiction, something that annoys her because she both and does and doesn't want it to be an act. If it's an act, it makes her feel extra intelligent, like she's playing the long con. If some of it isn't an act it works to her advantage, but it's hard for her to swallow that she has that sort of imperfection. In essence, she's got a very complicated sense of perfectionism.
Ivy sometimes catches Harley taking her old Dr. Quinzel glasses out to look at them wistfully, sometimes she even puts them on. Ivy will take them, clean the lenses, put them on Harley's face, and assure her that she's just as smart when she's not putting on the act.

(BTAS compliant headcanon) Harley will sometimes catch Ivy looking over the old photo album she has at the end of House and Garden. There's photos of her fake husband and the "children" she grew alongside the old newspaper clippings of their initial team-up together. Harley snuck some newer photos of the two of them happy together into later pages, so there's something for Ivy to smile at by the end.
Ivy prefers to be the getaway driver, much to Harley's surprise, having been Joker's for so long. It used to throw Harley for a loop, even made her feel useless for a while, like Ivy didn't trust her. But then it clicked - she just wasn't forcing Harley to do the dirty work (also Ivy likes fast cars lol)
Harley holds the door open and pushes in Ivy's chair, but Ivy is the one who will remind the waiter that Harley asked for extra fries.
Sometimes Ivy's all self-pampered and glammed, especially for things like going to bed, but sometimes she's just smudged with dirt and just walks around and passes out in an old uni shirt and a pair of boxer briefs that Harley sometimes wears. Harley is like that, too. Sometimes they do a 10-step nightly skincare routine together, but other times they'll just collapse into bed in whatever they're wearing - sometimes even their dirty beat-up costumes.
Ivy's favorite music is jazz, with the occasional song rec from Harley.
Harley's favorite music is yes. She'll listen to almost anything. Metal, rap, pop, country (Let's go girls - DUH DUN NUH NUH NUH NUH). She has the hardest time with jazz music, though, so Ivy is slowly finding songs that Harley likes, too.
before my egg cracked, i had noticed that trans people were often pro-accessibility and up-to-date on the needs of disabled people, but i hadn’t seen any inherent connection between the two (other than the obvious minority-looking-out-for-other-minority thing). but now that i’m trans and medically transitioning, and i have to constantly repeat myself while talking to doctors and nurses, and explain things about my own anatomy to medical staff who should already know this, and having every single problem i might have blamed on my “condition” so nothing i say is taken seriously, all of the sudden i have a little sneak peak into the life of someone who has to deal with this all the time. like shit bro, being disabled probably sucks ass, someone should do something about this
