Chillingly talking, thats how a sunny saturday should be spent.
I took this during the Jarun piknik festival. The horses belong to the "Arabian Horse Breeders' Association Moslavine", nice people I must say. Nothing special to add to that. Hope you like the shoots :D
Sometimes you just stumble upon clips hanging from a ceiling in the middle of the town. What else to say :D
Both are in their own worlds of entertainment, the difference is the technology that separates them from one another. Two different personalities, two different people on the inside, but both living in the same world outside.
Ever tried vegan beans ? Well I have on this event and I must say there is no difference in taste. A group of animal rights advocates shared a free vegan meal with people who were lucky to be their. The group is called Stop Speciesism, I wrote about them in one of my earlier post. Go visit them on their Tumblr page --- What to add, as usual it was fun, and tasty :D Hope the pictures make you eat some beans :P Till next time people !
Long time no see. Sorry people for not posting anything in a while but life and personal duties have gotten in the way a little. Anyways let's kick this off shall we :D First a backstory to the concert. In 2008. on 01. of 06. Luka Ritz (which the concert bears it's name from) was brutally beaten by five minors near the Bridge of Youth. He died several days later. This attack caused a uproar against street violence & school bullying. Raising awareness of it to an all-time high. In the mean time (5 months exactly) the 5 minors were found brought into custody, later charged guilty for the crime they committed (4 of them as minors, 1 as an adult). The last one left juvenile prison on the 23.02.2012. After the death of Luka Ritz, he was awarded with the Honor Of Croatia award. Also, starting from 2009. in june there is an an annul awarding of schools who promote tolerance and the student who receives the award gets a scholarship that in increase his monthly income for 1000 kuna. Also the parents of Luka Ritz opened up a clinic named after there deceased son. It primary function is to advise and help minors in tough times and with bully problems. ---- Back to the concert. It was organized by student of "Grafička škola u Zagrebu", the school that Luka Ritz went to. It took place on 22.04. the day of Luka Ritz's birthday. There where 6 bands in total (the list below). it was fun, wild, how important it is to remember and the money got from it went directly to the clinic. So it was a win-win concert :D List of bands and the links to there fan pages. 1. Lemon 3 Facebook
2. Newton and the Isaacs Facebook MySpace
3. Goatfish Facebook
4. Dino Jelusic Facebook YouTube
5. Łetterβomb Facebook YouTube
6. Proleter Facebook --- As my personal input to this event. I would like to thank Valera N. for inviting me and giving me a chance to be part of this event. Its more personal then it seems. The thing is, I went to school with one of the minors who attacked Luka that night, and I also witnessed him attacking a fellow student to which I just stood by (still feel shame for that) So in a way this is like an atonement for me (even tho I know its not much). At the end it was fun and the music was rocking. Hope you the guys & girls reading this gotta little insight to what was happening before the concert and why it came to be in the first place. And of course that the pictures brought you the feeling of being there. If you wanna see the full set (that I highly encourage) visit this link Until next time see ya ! :D
I would like to thank my colleague and partner photographer Valera N. for the posing. Go check out her work at her own Tumblr blog: Colorless, by Valera N.
Because we believe in the power of good, here are 3 ways to add some good into the world through photography.
1) 100 Cameras empowers kids through photography.
2) Help Portrait provides portraits to people who might not otherwise be able to get one.
3) Photo Philanthropy links up photographers with nonprofits to drive social change.
