hey guys i found a bat on the ground outside yesterday and itâs alive and well in a box waiting for a rescuer to come pick it up this afternoon so here are some pics :â) in case anyone was wondering why iâve been scarce

siamxshadeâ:
He make a motion hinting that he wanted to help the young man as he tumbles over though for the most part the boy seemed okay, aside for the little cuts he might have endured preemptively before his capture he should be fine. His voice was rather chipper, the scent coming from this individual was of something pure though there is a hint of something ominous which he can only suggest it to be self inflicted turmoil or anxieties. Either way Kazuha welcomed the ladâs hand in help and extends his own for a mutual shake.
âThat would be greatly appreciated thank you very much. My nameâs Kaedehara Kazuha but feel free to call me Kazuha.â His eyes then turned towards the sword he wielded, it certainly had seen its share of battles due to its own wear. Though itâs something that canât be remedied just yet, he had to just accept this as part of his reality for now before getting that sword fixed or replaced. âI can tell by your sword that youâre indeed quite capable for one so young. Though, we must certainly mend that sword once our jobâs complete, look there.â The ronin turns his attention towards the hilichurls.
âThe large one concerns me, Lawachurls arenât native towards this part of the region, what made it cross continents is beyond me but at the same time we need to end this quickly. Their presence here only invites trouble to come, so if you could handle the six smaller scouts I can put an end to the Lawachurl.â
âOh. Yeah...â Suddenly self-conscious, Bennettâs own attention drifted to his sword for a second or two, examining the blade offhandedly. It wasnât that he didnât care for his sword, but... well, polish could only disguise the issue so far. He gave a polite, dismissive laugh. âHaha. Iâll see what I can do about that later. Itâs nice to meet you, Kazuha!â It was only polite to meet a last name basis with a last name of his own, but, well... âIâm Bennett... of Mondstadt Adventurerâs Guild,â he improvised brightly, and shook hands on it.
No time to dwell on introductions, though - Kazuha had a plan of attack, which was admittedly very welcome, because Bennett had none.
âYeah, that could work! Only six, huh. I can do that.â Probably, he added privately. âYou wanna rush in, or...? I normally donât plan things too much, but Iâll follow your lead this time!â
siamxshadeâ:
âValo.â The hilichurlian idiom was caught by his ears as he approached the camp. From his whereabouts he could see why they were concerned. There were little Hilichurls, bigger ax wielders but was that a Lawachurl?? Those were only said to roam into Liyue because of its natural cliffs..what were they doing all the way in the country of wind? This was alarming, but what really caught him off guard was the sound of another. The peep was as quiet as a mouse, turning his attention towards the side he began looking around until he saw an energetic youth caught in a trap, upside down no less.
âOh my..â The young man said with worry as he strolls towards the trapped boy.
Below the individual was a large pit as well. âHold on, Iâll get you down.â With his vision his sheathed weapon appeared at his side. The speed in which he drew his sword and slash was instant and god-like. The thin rope cut and he leaps forward using his connection with the wind to propel him forward and fast and catches the young man upon his shoulder and stood with him carried. âAre you alright? Did you come to handle the Hilichurl problem yourself?â
Bennett wasnât prepared for this personâs speed and skill - which meant a little whoof noise was knocked out of him as Kazuha caught him over his shoulder.
âI- uh- wh-â He managed to get his bearings, and upon confirming they were now on solid ground, Bennett quickly struggled backwards out of Kazuhaâs grip and landed unsteadily on his own two feet, peering at Kazuha with a grateful (if slightly bewildered) expression.
...This guy definitely wasnât from around here. But he was obviously extremely cool. Time to make a good impression, or at least try to fix the bad one. âThanks! I really appreciate the help, and... Yeah, actually!â He took up his slightly weathered-looking sword and gave it a pointed little wiggle. âIf youâre here for the hilichurls too, maybe I can help?â
bigbanghellâ:
Really, Fischl expected something to go wrong despite everything, so getting away with only a little stumble was a win in her book. At least, with Bennett⊠(She tried not to expect the worst when she was with him, but still best to be prepared just in case.)
âAdvantageous, is it not? The sight of my Auge der Verurteilung isnât an inherited trait, nor is it something any commonfolk would possess. The resolve of fate consigns both blessings and curses unto those under its decree, this occurring as but one of millions.âÂ
Though she couldnât help but sometimes think that Bennett would really benefit from such an ability, even if it gave her quite the advantage that she was the only one in the Adventurerâs Guild with itâ at least, in Mondstadt.
âHmm...â Yeah, it took him a moment or two of frowning into the distance and another few moments of gears grinding in his head before he came to the right interpretation, but the point was he got there. âI guess that means youâre really lucky, then!â
If carrying another person was tiring, he wasnât showing it outwardly. Rather, he just looked doggedly cheerful, as always.
âCurses, though... Iâd almost think thatâs what happened to me, but Iâm pretty sure they didnât find me in Imm- Immer-â come on, he remembers this one â-Immernackt...reich.â Success, sort of! Be so impressed. âSo I guess my bad luck comes from something else. Itâs kind of cool that weâre both odd ones out, though.â
razoworâ:
Nope, heâs definitely not fine and Razor could even see that. Anyway, the wolf boy did offer a hand to the other to get out of the bush. He might need to be a little careful though.
âYou are hurt.â He pretty much stated the obvious. Should he get some Wolfhooks to treat the wounds? The least he could hope for is that Bennett didnât get himself terribly injured. Besides, being blown away by the explosion doesnât look good. That was a dangerous stunt.
Bennett grasped Razorâs hand tightly, thanking the archons that his friend was so sturdy as Razor helped him out of the tangle of bushes. He finally managed to clamber out and it appeared he was covered in thorns and scratches, but still. Victory. Kind of.
âThanks!â he said, about as earnest as it got. He plucked a thorn from his shoulder and managed to disguise a wince as a smile. âItâs not that bad, donât worry! And thatâs mostly thanks to you, as usual. Listen... Iâm really sorry for messing you up just now. I bet you had a whole plan in mind and everything...â
wise-innocenceâ:
Yanfei placed the towel around his neck once she was satisfied with his hair, taking a step back to assess him. He was still soaked from the storm and the canopy incident, but it was better than before. She had begun to apologize again before hearing the tale of how Bennett manged to make it all the way to the Stone Gate, even more worried about the energetic boy.
âIâm sorry, did I hear you correctly? You fell off a cliff? Bennett, I canât help but worry about you when you can say all off that with a smile. Did you get hurt at all?â There was a sense of panic underlying in her calm tone, unsure what to think about his tendency to get hurt so often. On one hand he seemed to be able to hold his own pretty well but on the other she felt he needed to be watched closely.
âBennett, where is the rest of your team? Iâm not the most familiar with how the guild operates but I know they donât send adventurers alone often. You really need⊠well, some support.â
He looked like he was being mildly scolded. âBut... really, this happens all the time. Iâm used to it! Iâm okay, see?â Bennett gripped the ends of the towel like backpack straps and did a little spin on one heel, grinning. âHonestly, this is a pretty average day for me. And my team is-â
...Ah, a little awkward pause there... Lightning flashed in the background and seemed to jog him into continuing.
âOff duty,â he concluded quickly. âOn leave, I mean! Iâm doing some small stuff solo in the meantime. Itâs no big deal.â She was a lawyer, though. Was this illegal...? âUm - anyway! Iâm probably gonna have to tell my dads I got lost in Liyue, so... can I tell them your name? Theyâre always really happy to hear about people being helpful.â
sphinxsmusesâ:
Yueliang did her best to squeeze the water out of her hair and outfit, gazing up in the sky in worry. If it rained now, it would just make them soaked all over again. She still felt awful for crashing into Bennett, watching in sympathy as he brought out their gliders and only her own looked repairable.
âIâm so sorry about your glider. If you want, I can buy you a new one. Itâs the least I can do for that accident. You seemed really attached to it.â she apologized, taking her glider carefully.
Bennett just looked bewildered when she talked about replacing it. âHuh? No, donât worry about that!â He held up the snapped frame of his glider and waggled the wings a bit. âI know it looks old, but itâs only a few months, really. Iâll save for another! This happens all the time.â
He squidged out onto the grass and shook himself, showering lake water everywhere, and pointed over the bank. âThe Winery is that way. Are you okay to walk? Youâre not hurt or anything, are you?â
windbladelumiâ:
The traveler flushed when she noticed the reaction her little speech had brought forth, but, decided not to mention it. If anything, she thought it was sweet, but guys could get weird about that kind of thing sometimes, friend or otherwise, so she only nodded in response. She helped her fellow adventurer pack up their camp, and had stayed to watch the waves for a few moments longer while Bennett wandered around.
At his return, Lumine turned back to her friend, a faint smile on her face. Gods, did he have to be so adorable? He made something bloom in the blondeâs chest, something she couldnât quite place. It was a warm, peaceful feeling, and Bennett made Lumine want to bottle that feeling up and take it like a drug.
âOf course, but only if you promise youâll come adventuring with me again, deal?â Sure, Lumine. You really drive a hard bargain there. The traveler held out her hand, either for them to shake on it, or for Bennett to grab her hand. She left it up to him
âWha-â It took barely a second, and a very animated Bennett clasped her hand with both of his and shook it overenthusiastically. â-Yeah! Of course! Any time, just say the word, Iâll-â
Bennett interrupted himself with an awkward laugh and tactfully let go of her and stepped back, sticking his hands on his hips instead.
âIâll be there. Thatâs what I mean.â He grinned at her, his cheeks faintly pink, and then spun around and started heading back down the slope towards Mondstadt. Slowly. So that she could follow. Which he was... he was very sure she would, and that was comforting. âAnyway, weâre heading back a bit late, so I guess Iâll tell Katheryne the usual happened, and...â
The chatter faded into Bennettâs typical background noise, filling time as they covered ground. The things he talked about may have been mundane, but the excited gesturing and turning-to-walk-backwards and tripping-on-nothing and laughing about it that became a running theme only served to show that Bennett was... well, happy. Very much so.
razoworâ:
That elemental reaction did dealt greater damage to their foes as they were blasted away. Most of them were knocked down while the remaining ones got staggered. It gave Razor the opportunity to do the last strike at them by using the wolf spiritâs claws.
It surprisingly went well andâ did Bennett got hit by the explosion? That made the wolf boy concerned as he approached his friend who was thrown in the bush. The Electro wolf form dissipated.
âAre you⊠alright?âÂ
There was some thrashing from the bushes while Razor finished off the rest of their enemies, but the movement went still before he was done.
At the sound of Razorâs voice, though, a single, wobbly gloved thumbs-up was thrust up like a banner from a tangle of thorns.
âIâm fine!â came a voice that was only slightly strained. Encouraging. â...B-but - hey, if you have a minute, could you give me a hand, âcause Iâm kind of...â his voice quietened â...stuck.â A short pause, and then a tiny shift, and then- âow. Ow ow ow ow hold on, okay, this is fine, Iâve just gotta- ouch!â
wise-innocenceâ:
âI do pride myself on being quite the investigator but I think Iâve heard one of my clients talking about youâŠâ
Yanfei should have recognized him earlier from the story she was told about a clumsy white haired boy with the worst luck they had ever seen. The tale had sounded like an exaggeration at best but watching him in action proved otherwise. Observing the annoyed (and concerned) looks on the locals face prompted her to gently guide him to one of the further shelters, swiping a towel from a stand.
âIgnore my comment about you being cursed, it was incredibly rude of me to say that⊠if anything, it just makes you unique but Iâm sure youâre sick of hearing people say that too.â She tried to sympathize with him, carefully reaching up to help him dry off his hair. The chill of the weather was really starting to settle in as she took a shaky breath before attempting to fix his hair.
âWhat I want to ask is why youâre out so far? Surely you werenât commission so far from Mondstadt?â
Bennett considered that as he let himself be shepherded, and razzed at his hair with his gloves, half-heartedly trying to flick the water out. Surely she couldnât have heard of him. Here. In Liyue. Was he so infamous?
â...Oh - no, no, itâs basically true, haha. Donât worry. You can call it what it is! Haha.â
Overly-cheerful as ever, Bennett flashed her a friendly thumbs-up and bent his head down slightly to better allow her to try and dry him off. He was used to people trying to look after him - his dads had made sure of that - and it didnât cross his mind to be awkward about it.
âHonestly, I didnât mean to come this far! I only meant to come as far as Wolvendom, but then a hilichurl knocked me off a cliff, and then I got chased by Hydro slimes, and then I fell in a lake, and some other hilichurls saw me, and-- uh.â He laughed lightly, and skipped a few steps. âIâm here by accident," he concluded.

windbladelumiâ:
At the mention of him sticking by her, Lumine smiled and nodded âThank you, Benny. Youâre definitely someone I can rely on, and someone that doesnât make me nervous to rely onâ She admitted, scratching the back of her head. There were quite a few people who offered Lumine their support, and sadly she couldnât trust all of them to have her back no matter what; Bennett however, was so different in that regard.
Maybe her view was skewed because he saved her life the other day, but, he had done that without a second thought. He didnât do it to garner favour or to impress her, he hurtled himself against her because that was the only way he could ensure them both getting out unscathed, and he had come up with that in less than a second. Lumine was confident in her friend, and would do what she could to keep him around, for her sake, and for Teyvatâs sake
He may be clumsy, but Lumine had no doubts that Bennett would grow to be an amazing adventurer. Heâs already good at it, but with practice will come confidence, and heâd truly be unstoppable
Lumine was broken out of her thoughts when her friend spoke again, smiling and trying to pretend she hadnât been zoned out, god forbid he asked what she was thinking about.
âOh! Uhm, yea! Iâm set, we should start heading backâ The traveller stood up and brushed her dress up, running her hands through her hair in an attempt to make it look better than her outdoor bedhead
At the talk of relying on him, Bennett took on a quiet, dreamlike look for a few moments. "...Oh..." But - and this was vital - he was not going to cry again! Thus, he turned away and began gathering up his stuff, mostly for an excuse to be doing something. "Thanks. That's so - I mean, wow. Haha." If he was a little watery-eyed that did not have to be public knowledge, but he was not crying. Really. "Yeah. Let's get going!"
Because as close as they'd become, this was still the Traveller, and he was still... well, not really anyone, if he could be serious about it. And she admitted she felt she could count on him. Seven help him but Bennett was feeling like a somebody right now, and somehow it didn't feel like it had much to do with Lumine's reputation.
He finished picking up his stuff and putting out the fire, and before he returned to her side, Bennett wandered towards the outskirt edges of Starsnatch Cliff, staring back out in the direction of Mondstadt with a wistful smile. He cast about to look for something on the ground, came up empty, and... wandered for another five minutes.
When he strode back to Lumine, he was empty-handed. But he shot her a sheepish smile and rubbed awkwardly at his arm, and then said, "Hey, uh, looks like the Cecilias aren't blooming right now. But you can take an I.O.U., right?"
razoworâ:
That âwooâ didnât sound right but Razor ainât gonna comment about it for the meantime. At least thereâs someone aiding him to take down these hilichurls instead of him doing all the work. Since when was the last time he had a companion in a fight?
In a moment of one-on-one match, the Electro Vision user had his wolf spirit claw his opponent while the aimed his blade below. A few clashes there and shortly after, he managed to knock down the mitachurl. He did got a few scratches on his arms but those wounds are nothing to him. Now to help his friend who seems to be dealing with the other churls.
Slamming on the ground once again, an electric shockwave pushed back those foes before any of them could hurt Bennett further.Â
As Razor joined him against the rest of their foes, Bennett risked a glance over his shoulder and slipped out a soft little "whoa-" as he realised the mitachurl was down. No time to dwell on it, though...
Razor had given him the perfect set-up. Bennett took in the sight of the hilichurls frazzling with leftover Electro, gave Razor a quick sidelong warning glance, and shouted: "Okay, watch out!"
Then there was a burst of white-hot light from his Vision, and Bennett leapt forwards and slammed down his sword. Fire met Electro in a sudden set of multiple little explosions, and the hilichurls were sent flying. Bennett, too. He disappeared into a bush.
