Hi, hello, still alive. Here's a recent thrift flip! It's a doll wardrobe I picked up for $15 that I now intend to use to store my supplies for making custom dolls.

Hi again. I have been working on the band characters off and on recently and wanted to play around with revamping the design of their stylist, Alice. I wanted her to have a Shelley Duvall quality to her smile and a choppy haircut she did herself.

She definitely has tattoos but I have to think on them and design them, this was mostly more playing around to see what I came up with and still learning procreate.

Hello, all, long time no post.  I have been very focused on my day job, arts and crafts, a little writing, so I haven’t finished a lot of digital pieces recently.  But, a few weeks ago, Spotify put this song called “Gravity” onto one of my generated playlists, and I was like, “what’s this from?”

Cue me looking up what the hell “Harbin Hotel” was, seeing that Stephanie Beatriz was in the cast, saying “sure, sounds fun,” and putting it on.  Now, I have to deal with the fact that I’m having VERY NORMAL feelings about a Spider Demon and a Cat Demon.

The show is so character driven that it’s hard to pinpoint who my favorite is, it seems to be whoever’s on screen at the moment.  But “Poison” got stuck in my head and I wound up really wanting to try to draw Angel Dust, which… was a task.  I got myself an iPad around the same time, so I did a lot of doodles to try and learn both Procreate and how to translate the show’s style into mine.

I had a lot of unsuccessful attempts, though it was still fun to experiment.  I kept trying to give Angel a nose, because drawing a face without one felt so unbalanced.  He never looked right to me with one, so I finally tried without one.  I wasn’t intending to color this, but I wound up really liking the sketch, and it was fun to just play around because I watched a show and wanted to draw a character.  That was a big reason I got into drawing in the first place, because I would watch or read something and like it a lot and want to draw it.

So, here he is!  I want to draw his “Losin’ Streak” look too at some point, a little doodle I did of that look is when I started feeling like I could actually get this to work.  I did this mostly in Procreate, with finishing adjustments/touches in Photoshop.

I got my hands on a labubu two weeks ago! I snagged the pronounce collab, and while I loved her dark purple color, I was not crazy about the yellow accents, so I gave her a little makeover. Her name is Aubergine!

So, I hate to be that person that doesn't post for weeks and then posts asking for money, lol. But here I am.

I have surgery next week to remove some benign endometrial polyps. It's supposed to be pretty easy as far as surgeries go, but my copay is gonna be a few hundred more than my emergency savings and I could use some extra cash.

I have some coloring pages available on my ko-fi page, if you wanna take a look and see if you find anything that interests you. If not, I totally get it, it's a weird time right now.

I'm gonna work on adding some more pages up this weekend, thanks for taking the time to read this/check it out.

Wow, it's been a while!  This is the first drawing I've finished since I finished my Outfit August stuff from last year.  I started this one back in December when I finally got to upgrade my computer.  I've been working on it off and on in between some other craft projects.

I just wanted to make something kinda cute.  I wanted to draw my character being cute and having a boba tea.  I've started working full time at a day job again since I posted last and I really want to get back to just drawing cause it's fun for me and not worrying about posting times and algorithms and marketability and all that.

Worrying about that never actually got me anywhere, so I might as well just draw.

Outfit August 2024 Day 31 - Pick A Decade / Free Day

We can call this one the 1930s, or we can call it "Cosplay Part II."  This is based on one of Liza Minelli's costumes from Cabaret.  I would love to draw more in this style, the makeup especially was so much fun.  Cabaret especially feels like a film Teddy would enjoy.

Outfit August 2024 Day 30 - Funeral

So, this one is very, very simple. I left off the jacket to give it a little variety among the other suits I've drawn. I feel like Teddy would definitely tone things down for a funeral, unless the deceased specifically did not want that.

Outfit August 2024 Day 29 - Wedding

So, I don't picture Teddy being the marriage type.  I do picture him being the marriage party type.  Always a bridesmaid, never a bride, and very okay with that.  Last year, I drew my character, Nicolette, in her wedding dress.  I picture this being what Teddy wears to that wedding, as the groom's best person.

More glowing fashion!  I wanted to do something anglerfish-esque and kinda spooky.

Outfit August 2024 Day 27 - Celestial / Galaxy

Zetus lapetus!  The alien, if course, had to return for this one, and it's fun messing around holographic clothing. The jacket was inspired by Prota Zoa from the Zenon films. 

(Also, apparently it's actually "cetus lapetus???")

Outfit August 2024 Day 26 - Heavenly

Probably the most difficult one for me.  I really could not figure out what I wanted to do, and wound up landing on something light, flowing, comfortable, with a bit of stained glass.

Outfit August 2024 Day 25 - Hellish

This one is kind of silly, but I think it’s cute.  It’s inspired somewhat by the villain HIM from the Powderpuff Girls.

Outfit August 2024 Day 24 - Pirate

This one is very vaguely based on Jim from Our Flag Means Death, mostly in the shirt and jacket.  What’s nice is you really can’t go wrong with pirates, you can go as simple or elaborate as you want.

Outfit August 2024 Day 23 - Fable

I was stumped on this one for a while, and I suppose you could argue about whether or not the Headless Horseman counts as a "Fable" or not.  But, for my purposes, it counts and Teddy has a Jack-o-lantern on his head.

Outfit August 2024 Day 22 - Pride

I had to stop and re-evaluate this one a few times, asking myself, but is it enough?  I really wanted to do a fun jacket, and I was kind of thinking of Harley Quinn’s tinsel jacket from Birds of Prey.  Something sparkly, colorful, fun to swish around in.  Teddy is bisexual and nonbinary.
