"I will do my best" he said, sounding not very genuine. He shrugged at her question. "Earth has it's perks. No superiors, no orders to follow." No more war, no more bloodshed, Balthazar mentally added. The gondola started to move as he spoke.

“Such a gentleman,” she teased slightly taking his hand, “Have you been on one of these?” she asked examining the now unsturdy looking boat, “Or do they not have these things where you come from?”

He smiled at her. "That depends." Usually on the person's Heaven. "But I haven't been on one of these, no." Not that he was afraid to drown. He could be out of there before she'd notice. He lead her to it, fluently talking to the gondelier. "After you."

“I think you would be surprised,” she said looking down into her coffee, “Knowing the right things about the right people can make you a very dangerous person, you know” She liked to think she did just that, and if she didn’t she could easily fool them into playing her side anyways. She glanced over to the little boats again, “Still up for a ride?”

Balthazar didn't reply to her earlier comment, nodding as he got up. He held out his hand to her. "Always" he told her, glancing at the boat that had just set its earlier clients on a dock.

He shrugged. He thought it was a moronic thing to do. Then again, he’d been stabbed in the back by friends and family multiple times, even literally once. “What would you do?” he asked. He smirked. “What’s the fun in that?” It was adorable, really, her trying to guess what kind of creature he was.

“If I told you then it wouldn’t be a secret now would it? No one knows what I’ve done but me,” she said in an almost proud voice. It was true no one really knew just how she was playing her cards or who side she was on. It was working, so far. “No it wouldnt be any fun at all.” she said in agreement. “I’m sure Ill find out some way or another,”

Balthazar shrugged as he finished the last of his ice cream. “You’re right” he admitted. “Knowledge is power, as they say. Personally, I think it’s only partially true.” He laughed at that. “I wish you luck with that.” His kind wasn’t exactly what humans expected, and he himself even less so.

“And why do you think it only partially true?” she asked turning her head to her ice cream and helping herself to another spoonful. She rather liked Balthazar, he was awfully mysterious. She liked mysterious.

"Imagine a man with a sword and a scholar. There is not much the scholar can do with that knowledge if the swordsman stabs him first." He leaned back in his chair. "Unless the scholar manages to arrange it so that what he knows can hurt the swordsman. Personally, I think that's the only case knowledge is power."

Balthazar rolled his eyes. “It’s not my fault that your species isn’t flawless” he said. “Not that mine is” he added as an afterthought. Balthazar knew he probably wasn’t going to get more out of her but decided it was worth a try. “What kind of friend?” he inquired.

“Just a little friend of mine,” she said, well, he wasn’t little anymore, but its all the same. “Whats the matter Balthy, don’t believe a woman like me can have friends?” she teased a little. “And your species is what, again?”

“Oh, I do” he said. “It just surprises me you would go out of your way for just a friend.” He smirked at her as he slowly ate his ice cream, savoring the taste. “Wouldn’t you like to know.”

Irene sat back in her chair and gave a half frown, looking down at the table, “You’d be surprised at what I would do for someone I consider a friend, Balthazar, or someone I take a liking to for that matter. I would do much more than you would suspect,” she glanced back up at him, this time with a little smile. She really didn’t mind if people perceived her as selfish and cold anymore, it was best that way. “A little friend, and yes I would very much like to know, but I have a feeling you aren’t going to tell me are you?”

Crowley nodded as she repeated the word, debating announcing that he would come back later, they were obvious busy doing…whatever Balthazar would be doing with a girl who knew his real name and didn’t look like she stepped drunkenly out of a club. But then she leaned forward to observe the bill and it was too late, she was inviting him in.

“Hiding?” He asked as he stepped inside Balthazar’s flat again. He casually sidestepped around Anna so he was near the bathroom and said just loud enough so his voice would travel, “TV, DVD player, and popcorn? Are you having a movie night?” He smirked with his back to the door of the bathroom and would have winked at the girl, had he not been uncertain of how she would react to glowing yellow snake eyes.

“Funny, Balthazar didn’t strike me as the type.” Crowley leaned against the wall next to the bathroom door and waited for the man to show himself, fiddling with the paper in his hands.

Despite what Anna had been saying, Balthazar wasn't hiding in the bathroom. He had been searching through the rack of never watched dvd's, trying to find it. He had been surprised to hear it was Crowley.

 "It was my idea" he could hear Anna say. "In the name of bonding. We're watching Ocean's Eleven." He decided to show himself before Anna could steal all the credits. Sure, it hadn't been his idea but he was the one who suggested watching Ocean's Eleven after she suggested Clooney.

"Very funny, Anna" he said, as he rounded the corner, the Clooney-less case in his hand. "I would never hide in my own house." Anna rolled her eyes at him, crossing her arms. He turned to the demon, hoping he hadn't told Anna about his little...outburst already. She would tease him endlessly about it, if he had.

"What are you doing here, Crowley?" he asked, as if he didn't already know. He eyed the paper in the demon's hands, already considering zapping himself to someplace with money. Fort Knox, possibly.

She cocked her head and smiled politely, stirring her drink. "Yes, I believe so." "Regrettably, I have to leave, again."She told him, taking a sip before turning around to walk away.

Balthazar grabbed his own drink from the counter when it was served to him and followed her. "Why so soon, darling?" He took a sip. "It would be a shame to leave this early, while the night is still young." To be honest, the angel was just interested in her. He'd met her before -he still wasn't sure it was Bucharest, but something close to that- and he still hadn't figured her out.

She didn't even have to look up to know who said that. She did, though, eventually because that's just what you do. It had happened to her before, there'd been a few instances where someone recognized her. Of course, none of the people who'd recognized her where the person next to her. "Ian."She acknowledged, twirling her hair absently. "Thank you."Continued the red head, motioning toward the drink which was now handed to her.

"It's nothing" he said, waving his hand to dismiss it. "Been a while, hasn't it?" Balthazar quickly ordered a drink of his own, a glass of whiskey. "Where was it again? Bucharest, right?" He frowned for a moment. He couldn't really remember it. "You were gone so suddenly."

The generic club music droned from the speakers, drowning out the near-continuous babble closer to the bar.

Which is where she was heading to, looking for refreshment after dancing most of the night. 

She nodded at the bartender to catch his attention and then proceeded to order a drink.

Balthazar had been enjoying himself when he saw her. As an angel, he didn't forget faces. And this one...he wouldn't forget herquickly. Balthazar had spotted her earlier that night, but he hadn't approached her. Yet.

When he saw her heading to the bar, he got up, shaking all the women off him as he strode over to the bar. "Put it on my tab" he told the bartender before he turned, leaning on the counter with one elbow. "Alice, lovely to see you again, darling."

The show was about to begin. Rory had no time to greet anyone before it, he would have to say hello at the party that followed the show. He and the band was getting ready. He took his guitar and stood at the side of the stage. All the guys were nervous, more than he was, and chatted with each other. Rory just smiled politely. He wanted to get it started already. After about ten minutes later than what they stated, the owner of the pub stood on the stage and yelled into the microphone: “Show your love for ‘Mr. Pond and the quackers’!”

They climbed onto the stage in a run and Rory stood in the middle. “Hello everyone, and thank you all for coming tonight for our first ever show as a band! Special thanks for the pub owner, Charlie Beckman, who let us have the show in his pub. Cheers, Charlie! The first song is a song I’ve written for a special person, that I hope will hear it oneday.”

As Rory sung the song Martin knew exactly who the song was aimed at. He felt sad. After all that had happened he really wished that the person who it was aimed at could hear it. He shook his head and smiled. He was just happy to be able to support his friend.

Douglas glanced at Martin, who had not replied in the slightest. He sighed softly, and stepped back. “I should go…” he said softly. “It was foolish of me to come.”

Arthur had never been to a concert of any kind before. Mum always said he would get himself into trouble. Or lost. Or both. He bounced excitedly as Rory and his band came onto the stage.

He watched the exchange between Martin and Douglas. Or rather he watched Douglas exchange something to Martin and a frown crossed his features. Was Douglas leaving? He subtly (or what Arthur thought of as being subtle) made his way closer to the pair. All the while still doing some kind of odd sort of bobbing dance along to the music. It really was brilliant music, he thought.

After a lot of asking and begging from Arthur, Carolyn agreed to take him to his friend’s concert. She knew it wasn’t a good time to say no, after all the drama That seemed to be in the background of their life, mostly from the side of their pilots. A little bit of fun couldn’t harm anyone. When the show started, Carolyn was watching the dancing Arthur from a safe distance from the bar, sipping a drink. She noticed that he stopped watching the band and started looking at the two pilots who were standing in the middle of the room, having what seemed like an argue. Should she go there as well?

‘I should not be here’, Amy thought to herself, staring at the pub’s door. ‘I am not going to enter. I am NOT going to enter’, she said quietly, but then she heard his voice. Her husband’s voice. She couldn’t resist anymore. She covered her head with a hood and entered. The familiar room was full of happy strangers and on the stage stood the only person who could make her heart skip a beat or two. She settled in the darkest corner of the room.

“Nobody can see me”, Amy said to herself. “I’m invisible”

From that moment on, she couldn’t take her eyes off Rory.

“Come on!” she said, “it’ll be fun. Something else than women and expensive wine for once, Balth.” With that, Anna had grabbed his hand dragged her brother inside. The concert had already started, but not for too long it seemed. Everyone seemed really excited for this, except for a few odd people in the pub.

Anna surveyed them for a moment before she turned around to face her brother, only to find out he’d wandered off already. She could see his back was turned to her, that he was standing at the bar and she figured he was trying to get them some drink, probably alcoholic. The redhead angel shrugged before turning back to eye the stage. Maybe there were familiar faces here. Or maybe she could make new friends.

"Come on!" Balthazar parroted childishly, his voice high pitched as he made his way over to the bar. "It'll be fun! No booze for once, Balthazar." He scoffed. "Killjoy." Balthazar had agreed to spend a night out as part of the entire sibling bonding thing Anna was trying to do, but this place was way too low for his standards.

Of course she'd disagreed and dragged him inside. Well, nothing to do about it. Maybe there were familiar faces he could talk to. And maybe the booze here was actually enjoyable. Ordering one diet coke for Anna and a bottle of the most expensive beer they had here, he turned around, waiting for his order to be fulfilled. The crowd seemed to love the band on stage, some band he hadn't heard about. He spotted Anna in the corner of his eye, who apparently was enjoying herself. Waiting for the drinks, he looked around.
